I think the reason for Lavanya's smugness could be that, unlike Khushi she was on mighty ASR's side. It is the feeling people have when they are in the winning party. At that point she did not feel insecure about Khushi, because she did not feel threatened by her in any way as she did with Soniya.

Loved all those elements you described. Yes, Shyam plays as much of a psychological game here and getting Buaji on the side of Team Shyam is his first gambit. Is t it ironic that a woman who claims to be so sanskaari and is so busy chastising her exuberant niece about jumping in and befriending strangers and getting up to all sorts of 'imapproporate' deeds should be the first one to jump up and invite a relative stranger to her house as paying guest...knowing full well that the same objection can hold true for her too. She is supposed to defend and safeguard the two girls...sadly, she is the one that sells them down the river...were it not for Akash and Arnav and Devi Maiya's machinations that bring things to the pass they get to, who know what would have been poor Khushi's plight...or Payal's for that matter.

Love the Tu hi bata mere maula here and the montages of Arnav, Khushi, Akash and Payal. The Sufi rendition of the title song, we have been told! Khushi is certainly master of the game when it comes to outsmarting Arnav. Some outstanding camera work, great music and eminently relatable dialogues...not to mention completely high impact performances by all of the cast. Small wonder then that IPK went on to capture the hearts and imaginations of the hundreds of thousands!

IPKKND Nostalgia: Episode 019

Aur Kuch, Sir?

1. Shyam making himself very comfortable at Buaji's house. Their intimacy is daily increasing. He is making himself indispensable to her.

2. Arnav is so confident that Khushi will fail at the measurement task, that he can't believe it when she begins to list the measurements. He lifts from his chair. This is the first time we see him astonished. "Aur kuch, Sir?"

3. Another domestic analogy from Manju. What is it that Khushi erases from the board? I couldn't work it out.

4. Arnav learns that Khushi was responsible for sprinkler system fiasco. He is prepared to sack her, when mid-sentence he realizes he cannot because of the contract. And that is what we call a double-edged sword, Mr Raizada.

5. My favourite scene today was when he catches her arm preventing her fall. He is intimidating her when this occurs. Both are a bit disturbed by it. This marks the pattern of Arnav alternating between injuring her and rescuing her.

Yes, Maya, a great favourite in the whole episode which marked the first steps in the fight back of Khushi Kumari Gupta was how ASR helps her by pulling her forward...has he already started becoming Khushi's Arnav here...saving her instead of dropping her from the first floor as he did in just the earlier episode or the one before? Loved this one! I could not make out what she erased from the board either...her taking the dictation with the help of the recorder and translating that into an error free mail...Khushi shows us and her colleagues that she cannot be written off from the ensuing battle with the boss...Shyam at his irritating and ingratiating best. He has Buaji eating out of the palm of his hand literally...she is sucking up to him in such an abominable manner. Often wondered why they did not pair the two of them up seriously...and spared poor NK!! Haha! Of course they brought in the horrible Dadi later to give him company!!

About what she erases from the board: the picture drawn of her has two plaits whereas she normally wears her hair in a single plait. So she erased one and says ab theek hai!
