Read all parts in one go. Awesome story, every chapter is so interesting.
Aman and pari are cute together.
I can't wait to read Arnav reaction when Aman will break news of khushi marriage. That moment will decide whether Khushi is just another thing Arnav want to possess or that he need her in his life for better.
Looking forward to read more.

I like the way you think.
The third possibility is ego.

Looks like Aman's shaatir dimaag is just like his boss's.
No doubt he is Arnav's right hand man.

But did he get all the correct information?

Good questions.
Yes, Aman has learnt from the best. :-)

Another brilliant episode Maya. Thoroughly enjoyed it.The way you described the convo between Aman and Chaiwaala with a touch of humor is brilliant.
Here we get to see the resourcefulness of Aman. We now know why he became the most trusted and dependable employee of ASR. Aman is a perfect gentleman any sweet girl would want to share her life with. He seems to know what to value in life. Parisa Khan is one lucky girl if she gets Aman.
On the other hand our Sanki Heroine is obviously attracted to dark prince ( as in the show).

It was fun to write :-) I could picture it quite clearly.

Will Arnav Singh Raizada make a menacing entry at Buaji's and demand to see the lady in question to find out what are her ulterior motives behind meeting Shyam Jha? And what of Shyam Jha himself? Is he just someone in love or also the villain of the piece? Sigh, with him there is just no telling, is there? Cannot wait to see where we go from here!

Love your comment, Anu.
It reads like a teasing promo for the next episode.

Khushi had stated that she feels sorry for the girl who will become Mrs.raizada and she doubts that if any sane girl would fall in love with that rakshash ...remember he had over heard Khushi talking to ms.khan in first episode ? So mr.raizada here might have something to teach or prove to ms.gupta here and he may be acting out of his bruised ego here and not cuz he wants her in his life ..

JALEBI by Jalebi Jane (EPISODE 017)

ANXIETY BROUGHT PAYAL REPEATEDLY TO THE WINDOW during that quarter-hour while Khushi was at Humptyji's Chai Palace. The rest of the time she spent listening at the bedroom door for Buaji's dreaded return. She was prepared to lie and say that Khushi was in the bathroom should her aunt enter, but she prayed it would not come to that.

For Buaji was just the sort of suspicious mind to test the bathroom door.

Fortunately, Payal's fears remained only fears. Khushi soon returned (via the window).

"He agreed? Shyam will withdraw the rishta?" Payal asked, as she ran up to meet Khushi.

Khushi nodded.

"Was he upset? Disappointed?"

Khushi shook her head.

"Angry?"

"Not at all," Khushi replied, marvel entering her tone. "He said that he had anticipated what my reply would be. But he wanted to present an official rishta nevertheless."

Payal's features showed relief. "He has always behaved respectably," she sighed.

"And," Khushi added, "he offered to speak to Buaji. He said he would manage her."

"When?"

"Immediately."

"What will he say, precisely?"

"I asked, but he said I should trust him," Khushi shrugged. "And that was the only point of discomfort, Jiji, during the entire meeting." Here Khushi recalled how Shyam had reached for her hand.

Payal was nodding. "But we ought to trust him. He seems to be able to influence Buaji." And Payal was going to speak further, but Khushi hushed her because she heard the front door open. It must be Shyam! She drew Payal to the bedroom door and the two sisters pressed their ears to the panel.

They could hear the rhythms of conversation. First Shyam's voice. Then Buaji's voice. Then his voice again for an extended period with many short interjections from her. They could hear all this but they could not distinguish the actual words. Their presumption was, of course, that Shyam was doing what he had indicated he would:

He was "managing" Buaji.

But suddenly, they heard a scream---a high-pitched scream!---so alarming that Payal darted away from the door, whilst Khushi did the opposite. She fell upon the door, tore it open and charged into the front room.

She saw the origin of that scream; Buaji in violent incoherent hysterics upon the sofa.

And opposite her was Shyam Jha.

Seated in the chair which Buaji generally occupied. Later---much much later---Khushi would recall that her mind had registered how strangely calm he had appeared in that moment. Quite unaffected by the fact that inches from him was a woman in near collapse.

Khushi cried, "What in Devi Maiyya's name has happened here?!"

In response, he jumped to his feet with the sort of happy energy as though she had just invited him to join her in a dance.

Just then a recovered Payal raced into the room.

Buaji's cries grew more desperate when she saw her very-own Payaliya. She stretched out her arms, and wailed, "I am finished! Oh Nandekishore-Knows, I am finished!"

Payal went to her, questioning, asking, soothing---but all Buaji could do was shed more tears and repeat the same words. I am finished.

Khushi stepped towards Shyam and saw his lips curve into a smile that was almost---nay, not almost!---it was evil. As the smile widened, a horror snaked through her body. She felt as though she was seeing his face for the first time. And it was ugly.

She indicated Buaji, and demanded, "what have you said to her?!"

He replied, in a cool matter-of-fact tone, "I've just informed Buaji that unless you consent to be my wife, I will report her for defrauding the National Treasury for the past eighteen years. She will be incarcerated for fraud and property offenses."

I'M NOT SURE OF MY ABILITY TO ACCURATELY convey how disturbed Arnav Singh Raizada was by Anita's revelation. You may find it difficult to believe, but until she told him, Arnav had absolutely no recollection of having called out Khushi's name.

Yet, the very instant Anita mentioned it---he fully realized it. It could not be denied: he had been immersed in a fantasy with Khushi Kumari Gupta as his partner.

Earlier today, when he had said to Aman that he carried Khushi in his head, he had spoken a far deeper truth than he had been conscious of. And even when Khushi had surprised him with that clumsy kiss, his response to it had not registered on the specific. He attributed his arousal to the natural consequence of a longer than usual period of celibacy.

I may as well state it here: Arnav was not a particularly sexual being. He had engaged the services of Anita Sharma two years ago so he could treat that aspect of his physicality with the least amount of engagement and effort.

Indeed, when he had been with Anita this afternoon, he had felt even more detached from the activity than he usually felt. Which is why he decided somewhere between bed and shower that this arrangement with Anita was no longer gratifying.

And that was saying much considering his already low expectations.

He had stayed for coffee because he wanted to inform Anita that he would not be back. And he wanted to purchase from her the audio files she kept of his visits. He was aware she recorded every client---he had expected it of her and had never feared it---but as their contract was ending, he would rather have those files in his hands than leave them in hers. He believed that she would hand them over for the right fee; for after all, there was nothing compromising on them to benefit her.

Of course, the audio files had been entirely forgotten by the time he left her apartment. He had been livid. Enraged. He resented Anita for having penetrated a part of his mind he had no prior knowledge of. And he hated the fact that she now knew of Khushi. Not that there was anything to know. But he felt somehow exposed.

And as he sat in his parked vehicle and processed his thoughts, he accepted what Anita had recognized: his true desire was to possess Khushi. It had been there for a long time. Perhaps since their first meeting.

It was at that moment, Sisters, when he saw Aman's messages. And you know the rest.

Arnav returned to Headquarters and went directly to the The Roof where he took stock of what he needed to do immediately.

When I speak of The Roof, I speak of the roof and the top three floors of ASR Group Headquarters. This was Arnav Singh Raizada's private residence, and dubbed collectively as The Roof. It had been conceived as a temporary solution until he acquired a proper home in Delhi. But soon realizing that the house that would meet his standards had yet to be built, The Roof had become a permanent home.

Quite honestly, living on The Roof---above the shop, as it were---had suited his lifestyle so well, that had it not been for his sister's relentless nagging, Arnav would have put off building Raizada House even longer than the four years it had taken.

His phone rang. It was Aman.

Aman: Are you free to meet, Sir?

Arnav: Did you see Khushi...er Miss Gupta?

Aman: Yes. But I need to speak to you about your plan to court her---

Arnav: ---I'm not pursuing that, Aman. There's nothing to gain.

Aman: Very good.

Arnav: Are you on your way to HQ?

Aman: I can be.

Arnav: I have some matters to discuss. Come up to The Roof. We can dine together.
