Does the wife has a right to refuse her husband? Skip to around 7 minute in the below video and comment please.

It seems she used to like another guy but was forced to marry someone else and he pretty much forces her to sleep with him on her wedding night. In the end there is happy ending and she leaves her husband but no action was taken against him.

In another movie One Night Stand there was similar scene where the husband abuses his wife and she leaves him in the end but again there was no action, no police involved.

In Dil Dhadakne Do the character of Priyanka Chopra is clearly not into her husband and she tells him she is not in the mood. But he forces upon her and she gives up protesting to not hurt his feelings.

So is Bollywood right in how they project a husband-wife relationship? Does the wife has to provide for her husband given that she is married to him? This concept is far different than the western media hence would love to hear your thoughts on it. I have hard time understanding that in all 3 scenes and many more it was business as usual and wasn't shown like a big deal at all.

Yes she has a right to refuse or else it is termed as marital rape.

But unfortunately, it cant be proved always. So no action can be taken.

Ofcourse if she allows her husband, even though she is not interested cant be termed as marital rape. That would be boredom/not in mood etc.

Well if a guy is asking that question then we are still human beings!!!
In real life too it doesnt matter what women wants is some cases!!!
Thas how our world has become
Womens consent doesnt matter for few people at all!!

But according to bollywood if she agrees to marry = consent. Or else she shouldn't have.

kabhi mood bh nh hota yaar to dehan rakhna chaiyeh in sab cheezo ka 😛

anyways boollywood is not a parameeter of life standards 😉

In this scene the husband said why should he suffer when she chose to get married? Although you raise a good point about boredom. Does boredom means lack of consent or not is a good question especially if she isn't fighting him as in Dil Dhadakne Do.

Correct hai but this was their first night. And even past that she was never into him. Yeh toh uska roz roz ka tha. Neither she left him neither she was willing to do it.
