ArShi Drabble - Ten Seconds
Life had stabbed her, right where it hurt the most. Just a while back, everything was as beautiful as a blooming flower and all of a sudden, something came upon which crushed the flower brutally. Just a while back, she wondered what good she had done in her past life that she was blessed upon with so much of affection and all of a sudden, she had all the reasons to curse her past life for what happened.
She loved him. He loved her. But life seemingly hated to see them together; and took him away from her. Everything happened so suddenly that even before she could understand it, he was gone. Far, far away from her.
She walked ever so slowly towards the central part of the hall, where he was laid. Covered in a white cloth, it seemed like his lifeless body pulled her to itself, with an aura of absolute peace and tranquility surrounding it. And the moment she stepped near him, the peaceful aura surrounded her body too.
Mourning of ladies that could be heard in the background very clearly just a second ago, faded into numbness the very next second. Tears of losing a beloved family member transformed into tears of sympathy, for the lady who lost her husband. Their marriage had not even completed a year of togetherness and destiny scratched all the dreams that the couple had seen.
Arnav Khushi, two names that were inseparable, same as their souls. Their marriage didn't last long, but the bond that they cherished since past three years, seemed to be too strong to break them apart. It started with the proposal of a supposed-to-be arranged marriage, at a time when no one knew that the courtship period would see two absolute strangers to become best of friends. And when after good three years, they decided to give a new name to their friendship, to be called as marriage, life stabbed her, right where it hurt the most.
She lied down beside him, gently moving her hand on his cold, lifeless forehead. People called her emotionally numb, insisted her family to go and support her, but she requested in mere three words, "Just ten seconds?"
And then she laid her head on his chest, wrapping an arm around his waist and shifting her body closer to him. For the first time, she cried, silently though. The storm raging within her calmed down suddenly, as she closed her eyes and smiled. Smiled.

I was so unsure about putting this up. I wanted to write something very deep, that doesn't require logical thinking to prove it right. Still there may be some people who may not receive this in the way I let it out, so my sincere apologies to you. Your likes and comments would make me feel happy.
