Part -2
It's been four days in hospital and these four days were worst days of my life.
I don't like sitting ideal and it was so damn hard for me to stay away from my work. It's my work and office which makes me happy.
Stef made every attempt that I couldn't get out of this hospital sooner but it was not hard to convince doctor that I am fit and fine to which stef disagreed as usual but at last I won and now I was in home going through some files
I came out of trance when stef knocked door
"Nandini why aren't you picking my call" he said worriedly coming near bed concern fear was all written on his face
"I didn't hear. I guess it's on silent" I said sternly not bothering to look at him. Then he checked my phone which was placed on night stand
"This is not funny nandini" he said irritatedly throwing my phone on night stand
"Ohh really but it was for me" I said throwing file aside to get down from bed but my head was not reciprocating back.
I felt dizziness and stopped moving and this was a golden chance for stef to say how right he was for not allowing me to work and forcing me stay at home
"See. For this I asked you to rest but no you have to be stubborn-" before he can say more I cut him off
"I want to sleep" and I turned away from him and laid on bed facing my back to him
"Fine. You need rest and I said you before and i am saying you again that I will handle this mess and office as well so please just take care of yourself" he ran his hand in my hair and left
I sighed and sat up on bed
I know what your doing is good for me but I can't take this more I have to work else I will get mad staying at same place and I started checking file again.
After proof reading some documents I took my medicines and messaged stef that I am going to sleep else he will show up again that I wasn't taking his call. Soon I was in deep slumber
I woke up on my alarm tone and turned off before it starts to beep more. It was 5:30 without wasting time I rushed to washroom cleaned myself. It was six when I came out of my closet fully dressed for my work.
I grabbed files and headed towards main door. I was not surprised to see my chauffeur in front of main door when he saw me approaching he opened car door for me and we headed to office.
It was 6:30 when I reached office so no body was there.Office timings were from 8'o clock so I headed to my cabin and placed files on desk.
I stood in front of wall sized glass window it was hazy weather outside. I was so lost in view that I didn't realise someone entered my cabin until I felt someone presence behind me
"I was expecting you will be hear" he said standing across me
"You came early today it's just 6:45" I said leaning my back on glass wall and crossed my arms and seeing him
"As I said before I was expecting you so I had to be hear with you" he said wryly looking outside
"I want you to arrange meeting with all department managers and ask them to report there progress from past five days" I said heading back to my chair
"And Miss Willams is back" he said smiling and headed towards door but my voice stopped him
"Thank you for everything stef and I mean it" I said smiling at him. He nodded in response and left the cabin
I got busy with reading documents and past week reports. At nine 'o clock I headed to conference room which was on same floor
Everyone were present already when they noticed me entering the room they all stood to greet and I sat on my chair soon all sat and stef got me all reports which managers prepared
I quickly went through them and I cleared my throat so all the murmurs were dead
"I believe my absence didn't effect the work "I said raising my head from papers
"But I am not satisfied with reports. I am not saying it's worst but I know what you guys are capable of.So I am not satisfied" I said placing the reports on table and stood up from my seat and faced them
All were staring at me and listening intently what I was saying"Mr. James handled my absence very well and I really appreciate his work. I want best from you people you all are hear because your the best" I said pacing near my chair
"Orix is best because of our efforts and hard work we came on top because of you guys and see orix is number ONE service provider in UK. Our users expect so much from us we help them to connect them around the world"
"Let's do our best to maintain the legacy. So let's get back to work and next meeting will be held soon" I said and started collecting reports from table
"M..Mi..Miss Willams can I ask you something" I raised my head to see owner of the voice it was Anderson, Regional department manger he was of around 27. After hearing Anderson everyone stopped leaving the room
"Yes. Mr. Anderson" I said keeping my voice firm and arranging the reports accordingly
"May I know was the lift incident was accident or someone tried-" he stopped speaking when I raised my eyes to him
I stood straight and crossed my arms in front of my chest and was glaring at him
"Mr. James I want all employees of this building to present hear" I said icly without removing my gaze from Anderson
"Miss. Willams-" before stef can continue I cut him off
"Right now" I said turning my gaze to stef to which he nodded and left
Anderson gulped the lump in his throat and sweat buds wear forming on his forehead.
Stef came back soon and slowly everyone joined within five minutes every single person of this building was present in front of me
"Hello everyone you all will be wondering for your sudden appearance in front me" I said in my stern voice
"Actually few of you want to now know my where abouts from past week and few want to know whether those incidents were accidental or planned. Am I right?" I said pacing slowly
"I don't like when my staff is worried about something so it's my duty to lessen your worries" I said eyeing Anderson, he was looking at floor
I shifted my gaze back to employees around me "I believe you people are happy to see me fit and fine??"
They all were gazing at me as they were in spell and I questioned again "I asked you guys something" I said roaming all around in room
"Yes ma'am" they all said in unison
"Lovely. So now it should not be your concern what it was why it happened and how it happened"
"I believe everyone should respect others privacy and I expect same from you guys. So stop talking and worrying about my personal life. Am I clear" I questioned them settling back on my chair comfortably
"Yes" was all they said
"Lovely. Thank you for your time. You all can head back" without delay they all left but one man was standing in same place
I sighed and placed my left cheek on table in front of me and watched the foot approaching near me
"That was so harsh nandini" he said placing his hand on my head
"I know but they don't and can't worry about me. It should not be there concern stef" I said in low voice
"Of course it's there concern after all your there boss. They will be worried" he said in a fact tone
"Seriously stef nobody will worry about mean boss they are just interested to gossip and spread rumours so just don't tell me they are worried" I said sitting properly on chair
"And what happens with me should be between us nobody can know about this" stef just stared at me sitting in front of me
"Stef it should be within us okay. Dad and mom they can't now stef" I pleaded now
"But nandini they deserve to know about this. They will be angry if they will get to know from others-" I cut him off
"No. This can't go out nobody can know about this and you have to take care of this do whatever you can. My parents CANNOT know about this stef" I said in horrified tone
He sighed and cupped my face "I will handle this just take care of yourself" I just nodded and he left the room
I came back to my cabin and made myself busy studying latest reports and other documents. Meanwhile stef was coming to check on me and reminding me to take meds on time.
Vibration of my phone stopped me from reading and it was my mom's video call. I accepted call without delay
"Hey guys how are you doing??" I asked excitingly showing my biggest smile
"Hi there nandini" they said in unison
"I miss you so much" disappointment was there in my voice
"Awww I miss you to nandini" mom said
"Forget this all so you are still at New Zealand??" I asked them placing mobile on holder and adjusted as they can see me clearly
"Yes. We are still hear and we will be leaving soon to Australia" it was dad who said "And how is work going?? And yes-" before he can continue mom interrupted him
"Shut up Jason. Never mind your dad nandini why were you not accepting video call in past days" mom quired sitting beside dad on couch
"Umm.. I was busy with work and meeting nothing much" I said calmly to make her believe to which she just nodded before she becomes sherlock and asks me more I said
"I would love to speak with you guys more but I have meeting now. I am so sorry but I need to rush now"
We bid goodbyes and mom ordered to message her after meeting and I agreed.
After hanging up the call I continued my work after some time stef came in my cabin
"Miss Williams it's four already. It was long day for all and you need to leave now as you came early too you should take rest you can't strain yourself" stef said standing in front of my table.
"Everybody left stef" I said relaxing back on seat and gazing at ceiling
"Yes. Everybody left at four now we two are there and guards. Let's leave together" he said grabbing my hand and making me stand from chair
"Woh..woh..wohhh...stef give me a minute" I said making him stop
"Ok" and he left my hand. I placed all files in rack and grabbed my bag
"Let's go" and we both left office.
Stef accompanied me to home, he waited for me until I freshen up. And after giving me medicines and making sure I was on bed to sleep he was ready to leave but I stopped him
"Um..ummm...u know was I...I mean was I so awful today. I mean my behaviour. And answer me as my mentor not as my employee"I said tugging my hairs behind my ear and playing with my fingers
He stood near my bed post keeping his hands in his pocket"your were not so awful but that was not needed he was concern about you and so was others but your were impulsive. But that was better then firing him so it was not so awful. It was actually typical NANDINI WILLIAMS style" and he gave me his sly smile
"Stopping thinking about today's events and have a peaceful sleep. And as I said before I will handle everything" he said and left my room
Without wasting a minute I snuggled in my quilt.
It was a another day in office meetings,discussions and proof readings. Meanwhile stef was making sure I was taking my medicines and mom and dad started for Australia,in short it was a wonderful day.
When a DAY ends on a good note then that's a really good day.
I was grabbing my stuff to leave as it was an end for today. But few men entered my office as if they own this place
"Excuse me who the hell are. And may I know the reason for your unwanted intrusion" I said in cold tone but that didn't effect them as they stood like statues. Then two men entered first one was wearing black designer suit with white crisp shirt and black slacks and second one was wearing a blue denim white T-shirt and blue blazer.
"May I know the reason of your intrusion and who the hell allowed you" I said keeping my face straight not showing any emotion
"Damn women you shout a lot" black dress man said making himself comfortable on couch
I raised my eyebrow and stood in front of them.
"I guess your at wrong place because this not a wh*re house" I said in husky voice
He chuckled lightly "Trust me I have better places"
"Cut the crap and come to point" I stated standing near my desk
"Come with me" and he got up from couch and strolled towards me and kept his arms on desk.
Come with me did I hear it right. He was leaning towards me until his breath was fanning on my face without any warning I lunged him in stomach which didn't cause any pain to his bloody iron machine body
"Way to work more on your sparrow legs" he said in sly tone keeping his face cold
"Dammit move away from me" and I tried to push him but he was glued at his place
"I said move away from me moron. Move" I yelled at him pushing him hardly and his flinched on my attempt
"Your so loud women. Ever heard to lower your tone" he said rubbing his ear canal
He stepped back from me to give my personal space. He glanced at my face reading every feature of my face trying to read emotions which was not written or shown on my face and he cleared his throat and he looked at man behind him and that man came forward and whispered something in his ear and he just nodded and they both turned towards me. Before they harm me I need to get out of this place
Without wasting time I moved away from him but within a blink of eye I was in front of his chest and he crossed my left arm behind and held it tightly which was causing slight pain.
"You maniac just leave me who the hell are you and what do you want from me" he did not responded to my protests and was just glaring like he was pissed and want to kill me.
"I said leave me" I screamed at him. He pushed me to nearest wall and placed his right hand on my mouth and his left hand holding my left hand tightly on my back
"Speak again. I won't hesitate to kill you right hear and right now" in his vexatious tone
"He is hear" someone said to gain his attention. He just turned his head behind without leaving the hold on me. I peeped from his shoulder who came but I was shocked to him at this hour.
I thought he left office as it was six. What the hell is he doing over hear oh god is he is the one who wanted me to be dead.
