Romit Raj aka Yuvraj, Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan was recently shooting for a scene in which his on-screen father Suryakant Goradia (Yatin Karyekar) dies. But the actor became so emotional that even off-screen the actor was feeling very depressed.
When asked about it, Romit says, "I did not use glycerin as I wanted to feel the emotions. I was sitting aloof from my co-actors and not cracking jokes even though they were constantly reminding me that it was just a scene."
Romit found it very hard to shoot the scene. He explains, "It was very difficult because before the shooting I was on the sets of Maayka where there was a wedding scene in which I had to look cheerful. And here in Betiyaan I had to cry so it was quite disturbing for me. But for an actor the show must go on. The scene lasted for 4 hours. Also, I'm very close to Yatinji so I was missing him."
On being asked if Suryakant will come back in the show, he only says, "It will depend on the Creative Head of the serial. He might be back as he is so popular with the viewers and you know that is so important. All I would like to say is keep watching Betiyaan as there is more suspense in store."
How do you cope doing such varying scenes in different serials? "After pack up I go home, take a bath and then just go to sleep. Peace of mind is most important after a hectic day's work."
Well Romit, as you yourself said, for an actor the show must go on…
