...I need to talk about 'khushi'. You have pointed out how she was child-like and yet mature in her own way and Maya, i could not have agreed more to this. As much as I love Arhi, Arnav and Khushi, I would say that Khushi somewhere touched my heart in more ways than one. I dont know if it was because I was going through a brutal phase or had it to something with my thought process, but I can tell you that watching Sanaya play khushi everyday was the 'only' bright spot in my life then and Khushi was the reason I could connect so much with IPK- a fighter, her never say die attitude and a go getter, I fell in love with her instantly.
Thank you for your comment. I agree with everything. But I wanted to especially speak about the above.
Our stories are alike, N. I met Khushi at a very low point in my life. It's a long and uninteresting tale :-) but suffice it to say that there were mornings when I had no desire to get out of bed.
But Khushi saved me. No exaggeration. IPKKND was broadcast in my timezone at 7ish in the morning, so I would shuffle into the front room with my cup of tea still in my pjs. And I would watch Khushi endure challenge after challenge, humiliation after humiliation with resilience and grace. Despite her situation, she got out of bed and went into the world to brighten the lives of those she encountered with her charm, her beauty, her humour and her deep faith. She even treated well those who treated her badly. And ultimately won them over. (Thinking of Lavanya here)
With hand on my heart, I can say that Khushi has changed how I approach life. She has inspired me to be a Heroine in my own life. And recently when I experienced a health challenge, I again drew strength from Khushi. "How would Khushi cope?" I would ask myself. I would talk to the Divine the way Khushi talks to her Devi Maiyya.
Someday I want to create a home on the web to celebrate Khushi. There are many wonderful websites and tumblr accounts celebrating IPKKND and tributes to the actors involved, but I would like to pay homage to the character, Khushi Kumari Gupta, and how she has impacted and influenced me. Ah! Another thing on the to-do list. :-)
Thanks, N, for sharing and creating an opportunity for me to share back.
