Was there actually brotherly tension between him and Dharmaraj? I think it was more of Bhim venting out his feelings.

The uniqueness of brotherly bonding of the Pandavas is that they all had their distinct identities and were of different nature yet they always completed each other. Yudhisthir and Bhim possessed two distinct human characteristics but they never challenged each other's views and personalities. That's why in spite of lots of difference of opinions they always remained united.
