This was such a light on the mind, yet beautiful read Nids... I always love your emotional stories, because that was how you had started writing initially but even those never got too overwhelming, and now when you write light hearted stories and fleeting moments like these... they are honestly heart warming to read. Something that leaves you with a smile on your face. And this one did just that.
Raman returns home to be grilled by a now adult Adi who indulges in teasing his father. I love the bond you have shown between them. Raman the right amount of stern and the right amount of friendly, and Adi the right amount of scared but also brave about catching the right nerve to tease his dad đ
The sequence difference you have shown here of Raman first looking at his youngest one sleep with Shagun and the elder daughter with Ishita... was well put in here. It not just showed the difference between the women but also rightly got the guilt back to Raman of not telling Pihu everything, of not having the family like it should be.
Loved the touch of Raman kissing his girls, and then his love too... that was impulsive but beautiful đł
Whether or not they have a 7 year gap of awkwardness, misunderstandings and distance between them... but if IshRa are around each other they automatically behave like they are husband and wife... like the distance never happened.
Her knowing he wouldn't have eaten, heating the food, his teasing as usual... pulling her on his lap (that was unexpected) đł
And of course the ending where he jibes about her food being bland and her retorting he wasn't there to taste and comment on it... it brings normalcy back.. but also the one elephant in the room they both constantly ignore.
I love every piece of your work and this one's no different... it's the right amount of thoughtful, emotional, happy, and beautiful... And I loved the title.. so apt đł
