Hello people,

My patience with Ishwari has been waning a little hence was keeping away from writing anything. Dev & Sona today though.. Aww! Even yesterday's 'kiss ka qissa' hahahaha such a brief moment yet I had the silliest smile on my face when it happened. ☺️

Dev & Sona might as well be married; Hence the not so unobvious title. 😆 The whole scene was beautifully done. Sona's immediate instincts being to scold Dev for being careless with his health then tending to him, Dev holding onto her everytime she tried to get him anything followed by her reassurances, Sona frowning down at him as turned away from the soup, smiling as he agrees to have some and finally calming him down as he remembers all the things that he has to do - I loved loved loved all of it. The gentleness with which Sona took care of Dev, her love and worry so evident on her face - Beautiful. She looked almost guilty for leaving his side as she was told to head home.

Thank God Ishwari reigned in her possessiveness long enough to thank Sona for taking care of Dev. I noticed earlier, how her brother seems to serve as a conscience of sorts. When he catches her eye at the end of the scene in the morning when Sona checks her blood pressure and she looks away guiltily... Well I am glad that she might atleast listen to him when or if the possessiveness reaches new heights of irrationality which I am afraid it might.

When Ishwari talks about how Dev doesn't need anyone at all when he is healthy and well but as soon as he falls ill he seeks out his Mother... See that is where you are wrong Ishwari. Even superheroes have their weaknesses than why would you imagine Dev to be invincible? Ofcourse he needs someone at all times. He just doesn't know how to seek that kind of help without appearing weak. That's what Sona has always given him. She helps him embrace his inner vulnerability and she does it in a way that doesn't make him feel like a weak person. She sees him as a normal human being you know? Sona gives Dev a break from being Dev Dixit and lets him be himself. I noticed that in the flashback too... Even as child, Dev was driven by the same instincts of appearing to be okay inspite of being hurt.

Anyway our poor Sona was actually awake till 4 AM... Kind of a relief she didn't actually call either Dev or Ishwari though. Dev calling out for Sona in his sleep, I'm glad how there was a natural buildup to this. Anyway, the 'betrayal' is now final. Very nice play of words BTW: "What do you need?" "Sonakshi... Please don't go. Please stay."

Can she give him what he wants then? What he needs? Or would she punish him for keeping it a secret from her? Ishwari continues to live in the time when all her son needed was her. I'm glad that she's atleast realized that as much as she wants it to be, this whole thing isn't one-sided and her son is in love with Sonakshi. That whole phool-hawa-khushboo analogy was like

Nicely enacted by Supriya ji, I'm just very conflicted about Ishwari at this point so I don't know whether to feel sorry for her or not. On one hand, he's broken the trust she has in him and she's terribly hurt... on the other hand, she has always harbored these insecurities so it wouldn't entirely matter even if he had been honest. I just hope the grey shades don't reach a point where they become unbearable. I am always up for flawed characters as long as they are treated in a balanced way so that they appear human. A mother's love is always selfless but they are all human at the end of the day so they are allowed to make their mistakes, they are allowed to fall... I would just request the writers to keep it balanced so that I can still empathize with the character instead of having to write her off as a little too selfish and self-centered.

On a final note - We are going to be miserable tomorrow aren't we? Our poor Sona! 😔

]Mothers love is always selfless as long as her kids are in picture. Once the third person enters the frame even if she accepts for the heppiness of the kid- there is always a competetion/insecurity/teritory issues with the DIL. If not there wint be so many saad bahu serials. Thr only thi g that is different is that it is real and no one will actually do any saazish. But i dont think ishwari will stop taunting sona until the final acceptance.

So true. The bond is always a complicated one. I just hope they keep the possessiveness within the realms of reality and not make it too hard to relate to. 🤔 That's disastrous for the show.

Lovely analysis!

Yes the scene of Sona taking care of Dev was beautifully done. Nothing was out of character. What is important to see how well Ishwari would try to keep Sona away from Dev even after realising that Dev (her innocent child) too is deeply in love with Sona and how Dev would react to Sona's absence all day tomorrow. He wouldn't know that his mother has anything to do with it nor I think Sona being the ideal would be DIL would disclose this fact.

Yes mother's are human beings too, but revenge is an emotion which never was part of or I atleast have not heard off, that comes from a mother for her child. To make your favourite child feel guilty (at all times by your taunts and sarcastic remarks) for something which is but a natural thing to happen as an adult (which I am sure she too has experienced at one point) just doesn't sink well emotionally.

Such a deep thoughts 👏 I was drowned into ur words while reading it. I don't think any character is at fault here it's just the situation. The drastic change in Dev has made Ishwari think and act unlike her. Every time after she has misbehaved bad toward Sona, she always tries to calm herself down and make up by softening her voice ( However, that's not enough 😡 )
I too really feel Sona in all this but also feel very bad for Dev, the very first time had he thought of himself and the guilt of loving a girl will surround him soon.

I guess it will be a protest rather than revenge

Thanks Mena! @Bold: Very True. Now that she knows that her son needs and loves Sonakshi but is still determinedly depriving him of the same... Ah messed up. I wouldn't call it revenge I guess. Not entirely sure what you would call it actually but yes I agree... Its a little twisted to see her punish him this way. He hurt her so she wants to hurt him back. I hope she is atleast honest with him about this aspect when Dev finally confides in her about his relationship with Sona. To keep it all in and continue to take it out on either Sona or Dev through other means just doesn't settle well.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the write-up. :) I have tried to go easy on Ishwari but her punishing Sona for everything is a little uncalled for. Confront Dev if you are so hurt by his actions. Sona has done nothing to earn her wrath. It's not even her decision to keep this a secret so it becomes even more unfair.

I feel very bad for Dev as well. He's scared and with good reason. Its going to be heartbreaking to see him drown in guilt for just falling in love. The man isn't allowed to do what makes him happy at all.

Lovely analysis Maham.
After 2 honey sweet episodes, Carela juice is waiting for Sona and us!
Till now Ishwari's action, reaction is more or less justifiable considering the phase she is going through, though I agree with Mena_k To make your favourite child feel guilty (at all times by your taunts and sarcastic remarks) for something which is but a natural thing to happen as an adult (which I am sure she too has experienced at one point) just doesn't sink well emotionally. Feel bad for Dev as Ishwari tries to always sink him in guilt for falling in love! It will be interesting to see what she does after Dev confesses his love for Sona to her!
If Ishwari still goes on like what she is doing now with Sona then it won't be love for her son any more! Because there's a saying "I you love you let go". But Don't think Ishwari will do so and then It will be pure territorial power issue, possessiveness and jealousy which, I am afraid, we are gonna experience in Ishwari soon😕! She won't be able to accept the fact that Dev is attached to some one else other than her.
Feeling so bad for Sona already! She will be so near yet so far from Dev in tonight's episode 😭. It's so unfair for Sona to get all the lashes from Ishwari when she is not at fault at all. Wish Nikki, Ria could help her reach Dev for a little while! It would be nice to see younger sisters getting to know about their big bro's love life and trying to help😳!

Thank you! Karela juice indeed. I agree with Mena too. @Bold: Yes that's what shouldn't happen. Because then, how is this show different from the rest? Dev isn't a piece of meat to be fought over. He is her SON. It's just hard to grapple with this kind of stuff... I can understand her fear of becoming redundant in Dev's life and getting lonely but not this angle where all she seems to care about is her own happiness and needs. I would rather see them broach the real reasons of Ishwari's insecurities soon which I think has something to do with the Khatri episode. Just want to see all these relationships progress naturally with Sona helping Ishwari put her fears to rest and Ishwari understanding how this is a GOOD thing. Like Sona said "Humara yeh naya rishta puraane rishton se compete nahi karega, Unhe complete karega."

Sona is practically the best thing that could have happened to Dev.. I hope Ishwari is able to see that.

And yes it is completely unfair to Sona.. That's what makes it so hard to understand Ishwari because Sona is so innocent in all this. As for Dev's sisters.. Awww! What a sweet thought! I would love to see that! 😃
