Ekta Kapoor talks about her new 'family show' which will replace Kasautii Zindagii Kay

After much speculation, it is final that Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay, one of the channel drivers on Star Plus, will be pulled off air. But Ekta has nothing to lose as she retains the 9.30 pm slot! The last episode of Kasautii will be telecast on January 17 and will be replaced by Ekta's, yet untitled, new show from January 20.

Ekta confirms and says, "Kasautii... is coming to an end. My new show is a love story set against a family background."

According to our sources, Shweta Tiwari's (Prerna of Kasautii...) nakhras are largely responsible for Kasautii being wrapped up. Says creative head Doris Dey, "Well, there were certain issues with some artistes. But that's not the reason why Kasautii... is going off air. It was a creative decision taken in the best interest of the show."

Doris, who is also the creative head on the new show, gives a peek into the story, "The story is based on the families of two friends. One friend stays in Punjab, while the other stays in London. We are looking at Deepak Qazir to play the man in London, and we have chosen Virendra Saxena (who played Mona Singh's father in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin) to essay the role of the head of the family in Ambala."

While Ekta is scouting for a fresh face to play the female lead, she has roped in Apoorva Agnihotri to play one of the two male leads. Says Doris, "We are in talks with Apoorva. The slot for the second male lead is still vacant. The heroine will be played by a new girl. We are auditioning many new girls. The show will go on the floors in the next ten days."

The new Balaji will be shot in Ambala, London and Mumbai.

Now this is my reaction after reading the Article 😳

Well personally I will never want Apu to do an Elta Show 😡 but at the same time I won't mind seeing Apu in a triple Bananza Package next year 😉

Just Imagine Apu in a weekly serial in the new NDTV channel,then Apu in a Reality show in the same channel and now Apu in a daily soap on Star Plus 😃 😛 ..

So this means we will hv Apu from Mon to Sun everyday 😕 😳 because the daily soap will air from Mon to Thurs 😛 and the weekly soap will b on Fri 😛 and Sat-Sun we will hv the reality show 😛

We were thirsting to get one jhalak of Apu and now I guess we will hv an overdoze of Apu Next year 😆 😳

Komal and Mona don't forget that Ekta shows gets all the trps and Popularity also 😳 ..And if we really want to see Apu getting all the Awards and fame then theres nothing wrong in trying out an Ekta show if the script is good 😳

And I m sure Apu just won't sign anything Rubbish ..Mayb the script is interesting 😳 ..After all Ekta is the Queen of daily soaps and we can't deny this fact 😊

And come to think of it we will get to see Apu on a regular basis na 😉 😛

Even I don't prefer Apu to do an Ekta show but then if he gets fame and popularity and most importantly trps out of an Ekta show then I don't mind it at all 😊

Sometimes u need to b selfish to achieve something and Apu knows only Ekta Mata Rules the roost now-a-days on small Screen and we can't deny this fact 😊

well u are right jyo! but the prob is that ekta always ends up messing the show!
but Apu is a smart clever guy ( most of the time! 😆 )
So i am sure he will do the right thing! 😳

And yea to see triple apu and every single day in a week??

i knew this was coming .... i just knew it ... Apurva had been saying openly that he wanted to work with balaji telefilms and here we go.

But one thing is for sure, Ekta shows get the highest TRPs we like it or not, so i believe this show will turn into a blessing for apu and i hope his show gets the highest TRPs and the best scoring. and finally an award for apu after jjkn.

though i am afraid to see apu in ekta show, but i am keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for a power-pack performance by Apu.

Way to go apu darling, wish u all the best ... WOW two shows together .... how will he commit his time, i wonder.
