It was Rudra and Gayatri's sangeet. Whole Oberoi mansion was buzzing with workers',busy in work and to complete the decorations in time.
Daadi was watching all the preparations while Nandini,Omkara's wife,and Annika looked after the food preps. Omkara helped Nandini because she was 6 months pregnant.
While this was going around,Shivaay entered the house and giving a meaningful look went upstairs to change. Annika,being the dutiful wife,excused herself and went upstairs and took out his clothes for now and also for the evening's function.
Annika and Shivaay has been married for 5 years but they never shared a relation like a usual happy married couple has between them. Annika loved Shivaay more than she loved herself. She devotes her maximum time to Shivaay but he never spared a glance or talked with her. She felt sad and heartbroken but now,she became used to it.
''Lagta hai meri kismat mein pyaar pana naseeb nahi hai..'' Annika thought and a tear trickled down her eyes.
Evening: Rudra and Gayatri's sangeet.
Guests' have come and the hall was buzzing with people wishing Jahnvi for getting Rudra married to such a nice and beautiful girl like Gayatri. Family members' were present and were talking with the guests'.
Soon the family of Gayatri came and they were welcomed by the Oberoi family. Gayatri regarded Annika and Nandini as her elder sisters'. She bent and took their blessings. Annika and Nandini made Gayatri sit with Rudra in the dais.
Shivaay came down in all his glory and killer looks. Few years back,he was the much hyped bachelor of the town,until he married Annika. Annika smiled but was not returned back by Shivaay. She became sad and stood a bit far from everyone. This was notice by Daadi,Omkara-Nandini and Rudra-Gayatri.
Soon,the performances started. Daadi and Jahnvi danced on London Thumakda while Gayatri's mom and dad on Ae meri zohrajabeen.. They were widely applauded.
Now,it was Rudra and Gayatri's turn to dance.
Rudra: ''Dekha tumko jabse,bas dekha tumko yaara,
tumse koi accha hai na, tumse koi pyaara,
yun nazrein na phero tum,
mere ho mere tum,
kehdona kehdona,
you are my soniya..''

Gayatri: ''hey.. a a a aaha...

They dance together and hug each other. Everyone clapped for them and Daadi blessed them.
Now,it was Omkara and Nandini's turn.
Om: ''maine khud ko de diya hai tujhko,

kaate na katey,leta hai yeh karwatein,
din mera,din mera,
aa.. tujh mein bitaau ratiyaan,
dil dil ko sunaaye batiyaan,

(He goes and hugs Nandini from the back and puts an arm across her belly,protectingly. She blushes and hugs him tightly.. Rudra hoots amd whistles for them. Daadi blesses them.. Shivaay claps for them with a smile. Annika looks at them and becomes sad. Tears brimmed in her eyes. She thought about her married life. Her life was short of love. Gayatri and Rudra noticed her leaving the party with loads of sadness and tears).
Annika leaves the hall and comes to the front lawn and cries her heart out. She vents out all her frustration and cries a lot.After all,she is also a human who craves for love. He childhood was never a happy one. Her parents' died at a young age and she grew up in her Bua's place who abused her always,be it physically or mentally or verbally. All her Bua was concerned about money. She just wanted some love.. Was it a mistake from her side? After marrying Shivaay,she thought she will live happily and will receive love from him but she was mistaken,because,Shivaay made her clear that he cannot accept her as his wife and can never love her. She asked the reasons but she never got answer.
After crying,she wiped herself and was going towards the hall when a security guard came upto her,by running.
''Ma'am... Shivaay sir ki jaan ko khatra hai.. Koi unhe jaan se maarna chahta aaj ke function mein.. Abhi ke abhi andar jaiye aur Sir ko bataiye...''
Annika's senses became numb for a moment. After she came to her usual self,she ran as quickly as she can to the main hall where the sangeet was taking place. She saw Shivaay standing with a couple of men,talking. She felt relieved and heaved a sigh a of relief. But,what she saw next,blew her mind.
Somebody stood behind the pillars,aiming a gun at Shivaay. Everyone was busy in their talks and all.. She cant take the risk of telling and alerting everyone.
The killer pulled the trigger of the gun amd bullet came out with such a force. Annika pushed everyone and ran towards Shivaay.
She finally went in front of Shivaay,shouting his name. She pushed him down with a big jerk and the bullet entered her body's most valuable organ- The HEART..
The bullet pierced her skin and heart. Her eyes went big as she felt the sharp pain of the bullet piercing her skin and going inside her ribcage. Tears fell from the corner of her eyes and blood oozed out like fountain from her chest area and her mouth and nose,profusely. She immediately fell on the ground.
Everyone gathered around her. Daadi,Rudra-Gayatri,Omkara-Nandini and Jahnvi started crying while Omkara called for an ambulance.. Shivaay went numb seeing Annika in her own pool of blood. She wasn't responding.
