PROLOGUE
The two of them walked along the Juhu beach. They were each other's solace, each other's strength. They were the same, yet different. They always described themselves like that as well. The ease at which they were made it seem like they had known each other forever, when in fact they had met only six months ago.
"Let us sit, Dharaa", he said.
"As you wish, Madhava", she said, plopping herself on the sand. He sat down beside her, smiling at her unique nature, and her ability to not bother about the fact that she was in her favourite jeans.
In comfortable silence, the two of them sat and stared at the sea and its pristine beauty. Such was their comfort level. Words were not necessary to describe their comfort. For people outside, they both melded together, and fit hand in hand with the other.
"You are like the sea Dharaa, pure and unrestrained", said Madhava.
She turned to look at him. The look that passed between them was enough for both of them to know the depth of the feelings both of them hold for the other. Uncharacteristically blushing, Dharaa turned back to stare at the sea.
"Yet I am", she said, softly.
"Yet you are", agreed Madhava.
Dharaa turned to squarely meet his lovely eyes. In his eyes, she could see their talks on elements and each other with elements. The elements had put in place who exactly they were, and what their personalities were. She smiled lightly at him, and turned back to the sea, the curve of her lips never leaving her. Somehow, he alone could do that to her. Just one look from him, and a smile is always seen on her lovely face. He was no better. She was his beacon of light. She had the ability to turn a grumpy him into a happy him. They could forget everything for a while, and be themselves with each other. In their entire life, both of them, who took ages to trust a single person, had trusted each other almost instantly. Such were they, they who sat on the Juhu beach.
"You know", said Madhava, almost conversationally. His nervous undertone was not missed by Dharaa, and he knew that.
Dharaa slightly raised an eyebrow in response, asking him to continue.
"Every single friend of ours says we will be good together. You know they don't please easily", said Madhava.
Dharaa nodded, even as elation filled her. Their friends are never easy to please, and are entirely too protective of both Madhava and herself.
"So, do you want to prove them, and our gut feelings right?", asked Madhava.
Dharaa, giving up all pretense, turned to him, and met his eyes, in askance.
"Go out with me, Dharaa", said Madhava.
