Actually, I felt Suman is quite selfless here. She is not dealing with her issues of guilt or past misdoings, even if they do come up as a reminder at times...
Here, she seems to honestly want Shravan to connect to his mother...and wishes his parents would make up, because she knows how he really feels about his mother still..She wants his family to be complete...not because she was guilty in breaking it up or had a hand in driving the nail deeper...simply because she feels for the child in Shravan who yearns for his mother's dal...

She knows that child needs answers as to why he was abandoned.

And he does too- We know from the Ramnath- Shravan conversation on the terrace that Shravan is still searching for some news about his mom. But he is not going to go actively looking for it, since he feels she abandoned him and his father...Deep down, he wishes things were all right.😊

I hope it is not because of guilt on Sumo's part. Simply, it would take away from liking this character . It is almost as if one is saying that what she did in her immaturity those ten years ago cannot ever be forgiven. Did Sumo hurt Shra purposely in the past? Answer is no... she committed a mistake. Should she be hauled up for this mistake for her entire life? The mother didnt leave because of her, she didnt come back to her place because of her. If she is trying to patch up the mother and son, the only reason is love. Love for her friend, to make him happy at all costs. (Whether she needs to venture or not in this equation is beside the point). Her sole prerogative in this mission of hers is to make this man free from all kinds of negative prejudices. To make him accept his past without any regret or guilt. So, that his future is not marred as his past and present was.
Sumo was never wrong in the past, we all make mistakes. She did as well. But, one thing she has never ever left doing. She has always loved him. And this action needs to be seen only within that same rubric. The rubric of love

indrani as always your posts are so sensible. i have been busy today so didnt get a chance to comment but i read your comment on other posts and whole heartedly support your take on suicides. hoping this show is not going to use it lightly like other shows - it is a very serious matter.

Thank you Ruz🤗
Yes, they have taken up a serious matter. I only hope the makers deal with it sensibly. Trivializing love and life both is simply not given
Hoping for the best
