CREATING FICTION:
Every spider weaves its cobweb and waits in it patiently for its prey to be caught into it. Ria weaves her cobweb around her prey and waits patiently for the big feast to start.
Ria has noticed that Raj hasn't forgotten Sudha. In order to strengthen the fabric of her cobweb she now concentrates upon how to create an impression of herself as a sacrificing, loving Dharampatni in Raj's mind, so that he never again mentions his love for Sudha openly. Ria assisted by her friend Nalini once again enacts a play meant to be heard by Raj. This could go as follows:
Scene at Ria's home:
Nalini: Kya bat hai Ria? Itni gum sum, itni udaas, kahan khoyi ho?
Ria: Nalini, kya batauun! Main khud ko aur Raj ko lekar udaas huum..
N : Kyuum, kya hua Ria...
R : Raj ne mujhse shaadi to zarur ki, lekin ahsaan ke bojh se dab kar. Vo abhi bhi Sudha se pyar karta hai, Nalini, vo use bhul nahi paya...
N: Ria, Ria, Ria... Jitna tumne Raj ke liye kiya utna koi apno ke liye bhi nahi karta...
R : Choro Nalini, kya kiya hai maine? Kuch bhi to nahi. Sirf ek dost ban kar dost ka farz hi to nibhaya...
N : Voh Sudha se pyar karta hai, tumhe pata tha. Kya zaruurat thi itna bara balidan dene ki, Ria? Tumhein to koi bhi mil...
R: (gussa hokar, tez awaaz mein) Bas karo Nalini!! Ve mere pati hein, mere sab kuch vahi hain. Ve mujhse prem na bhi karein, to bhi ek patni ka kartavya mein hamesha nibhauun gi, Nalini... (Ve mere parmeshwar hein!) (cries)
(As always Raj has listened to this enacted scene standing behind the curtain. He is now tormented by feelings of guilt and shame. The burden of gratitude weighs heavy upon him. He will be a devout and servile husband to Ria from now.)
