As Ram tries to string the Dhanush, it breaks shocking everyone present there.
Janak is stunned and finds himself speech less.
Then starts the appalling behavior of the kings.
The same kings who stood silently
when Ravan insulted Sita and Janak,
who in fact let themselves be manipulated by him
to the extent of willing to start a war,
now start accusing Ram.
I would have loved to knock their heads together
to get some sense into themš
How could Ram break the Dhanush,
when he was just supposed to string it?
He has insulted them by doing it.
He has not followed the rules of the swayamavar and
as such can never win sita..
Another impertinent King has the nerve to say that
Sita will remain unmarried forever.
Since Ram has sinned by breaking the Dhanush
he should be punished says another King incurring the wrath of Lakhsman.
In spite of Ram trying to calm him down,
Lakshman is ready to challenge the king.
Janak notices the situation getting out of hand and
requests for peace and calm.
He says Ram comes from an illustrious ancestry,
his Gurus are Vashisht and Vishwamithra.
So let us give him a chance to explain how the Dhanush broke.
Ram tells him he doesn't know how the Dhanush broke.
He had come there to visit the Dhanush
with his Guru and brother,
but the Kings in the swayamvar seemed
to have lost sight of Janak's purpose and intention of this swayamvar.
