You've just signed your first movie.. Yes, I'm playing Laila in Dharmesh Darshan's Bhanvraa.. Love and Agression. I am really excited. She's a saucy, glamorous girl who's totally into her career. It's the right role for me, because I already have a sexy image on television. Why movies now? I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and explore other avenues. Films are the best platform for any actor. Does that mean you're quitting TV for good? Hmm.. you know how the film indus- try works. For the moment, I'm through with television. But no mat- ter what, I'll always be indebted to TV for all that it's given me in the last nine years. My shows Lipstick and Kitty Party mean a lot to me and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was the best thing that happened to me. The audience got to see the real Shveta Salve: all the tears and sweat. How different are the two mediums? You just can't compare them. There's a lot more to do in cinema. Your expressions are multiplied 10 times over. And yes, it isn't as stressful as television. You lost out on hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season Two to Mona Singh.. any regrets? See, it was either Jhalak.. or Bhanvraa and I chose the latter. But it would have been great if things had worked out. Have you watched Season Two? The jodis and judges are all very good. The canvas has become bigger.. there's more drama and more fun. But I'm still biased towards Season One. No TV star has made it big in films so far.. Who knows? I might be the first. My director Dharmesh Darshan is a great teacher.. Your co-stars in Bhanvraa (Manav Gohil, Sangeeta Ghosh and Eijaz Khan) are also television actors. Does that make it eas- ier? I think an actor ought to be able to perform with anyone. But having friends around does help. Who do you think is the hottest hunk in Bollywood? (Laughs) Manav and Eijaz will make it there soon, hopefully. Seriously speaking, there's no one who takes my breath away. Hrithik Roshan comes close, though. Will you return to TV if films don't'work? Come on, why think negative? I'm sure my film will be a hit. How has your boyfriend Rodney reacted to your bagging Bhanvraa? Let's just say that everyone who loves me is happy for me.
