It was a tiring day at work. No matter how much I complain, I know, as soon as I see my crazy chipmunks, all the exhaustion will take a second to vanish off. Arnav, Payal and Aakash - my life starts with them, and apparently, my life ends with them.
Arnav, the most notorious of us, leaves no chance to bug me. I want to kill him for irritating me, but alas, I am hopelessly in love with him! You know, ishq vala love'. It isn't like he doesn't love me, but you know girls are more emotionally into such things, while guys are, ahem, more into physical stuff. We are in relationship since past seven months, though we are more comfortable by being best friends.
Payal, she is the only one in our group who spends most of her day in the kitchen than in the dressing room. She loves to cook and we love to eat. Can anything be better? And regardless to mention, her cooking skills are amazing!
Aakash, our inverse coconut! He is soft from exterior, all goody kinds, but from interior, he is no less than Arnav. Once the two get together, we two girls have to work really hard to get the two apart from each other. Some may call it Bromance, but I'll call it Ways to Enjoy without Girls', if you know what I mean!. I couldn't stand the laughter for another second. It was intolerable! It sounded as if the witch had a sore throat since years together and now being fed up of the soreness, she inserted a knife in her throat that made her laughter creepy! Ew.
I measured the steps and sighed in relief as I found the knob of the main door. I decided mentally that once I am out of my haunted apartment, I'll run straight to the police station; but to add to my terror, the door was locked. Tears coated my eyes as I felt someone's gaze on my back. Just breathe your last breath Khushi, the ghost is just behind you! I screamed again, this time more loudly. I turned back, deciding to surrender to the ghost, when something fell from the ceiling, right in front of me. A deafening shriek escaped my mouth, anticipating the fallen thing to be the corpse of my friend. Phew, it wasn't. I knelt down and touched the thing, it was a doll. Her fluorescent dress was giving out some kind of light to see her form. Her eyes were unequal buttons and the cloth over her cheek was torn off, the cotton filled within oozing out. It's mouth had some kind of pointed pins protruding out, along with a sticky liquid that smelled yuck. I threw the doll away in disgust, glancing at the ceiling for once. My heart stopped as I saw a human skeleton hanging over the ceiling fan and grinning at me devilishly. Its bones were pointed and pale greenish in color and its whole body shined with scary red light. I found my vision getting blurry with shock and fear. Cold water dropped onto my eyes from the ceiling suddenly and I screamed hard, getting up and running towards the door. "Help someone, please!" I cried loudly, tears spilling out of my eyes and mixing with the wetness caused by the water. "Arnav" I screamed for him, my voice cracking up due to tears filling my throat, "Aakash" "Payal" I closed my eyes as my lifeless hands continued to bang on the door, "Get me out, please!" "Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Hitler, happy birthday to you!" I heard the melodious chorus of my friends, as they sang together, the light finally coming back and I opened my eyes and turned back. There stood Aakash, Payal and my Arnav, all wearing pointed kid-caps over their heads, and not to mention, their evil grins pointing at me. "You b*stards" I stepped angrily towards them, already feeling very exhausted to beat them up. "Shh relax" Arnav came cowards and embraced me in his warmth, holding me close to his chest and rubbing my back to calm me down. I immediately wound my arms around his waist, sighing in his chest as I finally felt my breaths getting normal. "I hate you so much!" I whined in his chest, punching his back lightly. "I love you so much!" He replied back, kissing in top of my head and breaking into a soft chuckle. We parted from the hug and he softly pecked my lips, "Happy Birthday, Khushi!" "Payal, it's time to close our eyes!" I heard Aakash whisper to Payal and they both burst into giggles, while Arnav smiled. "All this was your plan, right?" I glared at Arnav and Aakash, while they nodded sheepishly. "You --" I started with my cussing, when Payal cut me off. "Who wants to cut a mouth-watering, heart-numbing, extremely delicious chocolate cake, made by none other than the awesome chef - Payal?" Payal fanned her face, winking at me and pointing to the covered lid on the dining table. "Oh my god, really?" I squealed in excitement, stepping aside from Arnav and Aakash and hugging Payal. The clock struck twelve and the knife pierced the creamy texture of the cake, followed by all four of us going crazy with eating and applying cake on each other's face.
Ha. Ha. Ha. Nish, don't kill me baby
