He scrutinized his eyes to get a better view of her amongst the crowd. He slowly made his way towards her. With each step he took towards her, his heart started beating faster. He had just seen her back but he exactly knew that it was she... The one whom he wanted & wished to see every moment of his life. He wished her to turn. He was about to reach her when she turned. His breath stopped on seeing her.

"She hadn't changed a bit. Still the same lively, innocent & happy go-lucky girl" Arnav's mind reminded the words.

He walked towards her when he saw her talking to a guy. He felt jealous... Jealous on seeing her with someone other than him. Jealous because she just laughed not because of HIM but because of some random guy.

"But wait!!! What did I see? She is laughing but that isn't from her heart. She is smiling but it didn't reach her eyes. Why so??? Isn't she happy? Is she too going through the same I'm going through? [After a pause] Shut up Arnav... Just shut up. U r seeing her after so long. Just go & talk to her... Apologize for whatever had happened in the past. Make her understand that you love her & only HER... No one can ever take her place... C'mon just go..." Arnav's mind chided him & ordered him to woo back his lady love.

He was just three long strides away from her yet he slowly & hesitantly walked towards her & placed his hand over her shoulder whispering her name huskily "Khushi..."

No sooner did Khushi turn on hearing her name than Arnav's breath stopped. She was still looking like the newly blossomed flower but... Without the fragrance. She looks beautiful as always but now with a slight tinge of turning into adult from a teen... With a slight tinge of maturity.

Khushi turned around only to find HIM staring at her longingly. She was shocked would be understatement. "Arnav" She was unable to believe what she's seeing. She isn't able to believe that indeed HE was standing in front of her all Hale & hearty. Her heart skipped a bit when she saw him gesturing the guy with her to go away & he himself coming closer to her.

She closed her eyes in order to feel his presence... In order to make sure that her love was indeed present & was just before her eyes.

As soon as she closed her eyes, all the memories of her past... Their past came flooding her mind blinding her from seeing & judging what's the present. Khushi opened her eyes looking around frantically with a thin layer forming in her eyes. Then her eyes stopped & met his chocolate brown orbs. Arnav was surely lost in those hazel almond eyes that reflected only pain, hurt, sorrow & betrayal.

Arnav saw the play of emotions on Khushi's face & the last one BETRAYAL was the worst for him. It seemed as if someone had pierced his heart with sword. That wasn't enough so now Khushi's tears that made their way down her cheeks have started making him restless. He had a strong urge to just hug her & murmur sweet nothings just like he used to do in past whenever she was upset.

Overcoming his control, he went ahead to hug her but he was late, she had already ran towards the giant door of the hall & went invisible to his eyes. Without even wasting a moment, he ran behind her not wanting her to leave him just like the past...

Why does the past always over-rule the present? Why does everyone speak about not letting past affect present but it always happens contradictory? Why does a hurtful past have to be a thorn for the present & the future? Why can't the love be unaware of it's past & future? Why can't we enjoy our present without any shadows of past & the fear of future???
