She pairs off with a "hot" FBI agent (the guy that plays Angel in Buffy) and they basically solve a murder in each episode. But she has a tragic past and was abandoned by her family when she was young, plus she was always a little socially awkward so she becomes a little isolated in a social sense. She is kind of like a science lab rat. Very rational personality at the expense of emotions because she doesn't want to get hurt again in life. She is afraid of love. He has his own tragic past but he is the more emotional one. They develop a "partnership". There is a lot of back and forth between the two of them. But the leads have crazy chemistry! Unresolved sexual tension was hot!

It became more lighthearted after S3 except S6. But season 6 broke my heart in a way which I will never recover from.😭 After that it was hard for me to buy into the ship so truly even though they are together now.
