Nupur is a do-gooder
Nupur Alankar has a side to her that not many know about. In contrast to her character Halki in 'Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan' (Zee), Nupur isn't as selfish and goes out of her way to help people.
Nupur practises acupressure—the traditional Chinese science that involves applying pressure to body parts to relieve pain. Nupur says, "Many a times, my colleagues have suffered minor ailments like a migraine, backache or kidney pain.
So, I give them acupressure. Once, my co-star Shekhar Shukla (Hasmukh) got a migraine attack on the road. Another co-star Tanushree Kaushal (Menaka) brought him to the sets so that I could give him acupressure. It felt very satisfying that I could help someone till the doctor arrived."
Interestingly, Nupur has also been regularly practising pranayam—the science of breathing , which also helps her control her emotions and handle difficult situations. She says, "My husband Alankar inspired me to learn this discipline. I do pranayam every day - be it in the car or on the sets."
Recently, Nupur also helped raise funds for her colleague's sister who needed to undergo a heart surgery. "I am trying to raise funds for my colleague Rachana Sahani's sister Sapna Mitkar. Rakhi Sawant was amongst the first ones to donate. She personally went to their house and gave them the cheque. It is a shame on the rich who blow their money in pubs and run over people with their swanky cars."
