| Betiyaan to turn a year old soon Zee's Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, which revolves around a rigid Gujarati family with four daughters, will soon complete one year. We spoke to star cast for their reactions. Twinkle Bajpai, who plays one of the daughters Lakshmi, says, "It's great to be a part of this show. The channel deserves credit for highlighting sensitive social issues like gender discrimination and dowry. I would like to thank viewers without whom we could not have achieved this." How much do you relate to your character? "A lot. I am a copy of Laxmi. Both of them react in the same way to various situations," say Twinkle. Adds Smriti (Durga), "I'm very happy that our show has become such a huge success and I would like to thank to all the viewers who have loved us so much." As a tribute to the show, the channel will celebrate Betiyaan Diwas, a week long celebration that'll see a lot of eminent personalities talking about their daughters. About the concept a source from the production house says, "As our show is based on the lives of four daughters, we thought of celebrating Daughter's Day with a difference. We've invited some well known personalities from different working backgrounds to talk about their daughters and also the sorry state of daughters in our country and how we can try to improve it. We want people to stop discriminating between sons and daughters." Tuesday, September 25, 2007 |
