The 'disastrous date' has been discussed to death ;). This is my analysis on the whole episode, I will try not to discuss too much on the date as I have already made one post on it,,
Our dear Manav's Bhai is still giving cold shoulder to Malvika, Malvika seems to be desperate to hold on to Manav, which is a clear role reversal of the scene between them after the KaYa green room romance.. By any chance , did Manav Bhai get privy to the professionalism gyans from the past and present ladies in Kabir saheb's life ;). All of a sudden, he is behaving unbelievably professional ;)
The Sunny-Ananya-Ronnie scene was a complete filler, I would have preferred more focus on the death penalty debate instead. The blogger's interview was a good one, the topic being on one of current top topic. The guy playing Kunal hit all the right spots, and his articulation skills were perfect in the role of an amateur writer. The execution of this segment could have better and they should have spent more screen time on covering the interview. Kabir obviously didn't have much role, as it is not his place to share his opinion, but they could have shown some live viewers calls, and how Kabir mediates between the viewers who are of different opinion than the blogger. Missed seeing the full on action Kabir.
As we have done enough discussion on who is at fault for the date fiasco, let me stay away from that discussion, but focus on the scene itself. Shreya's sob story about having to eat alone was laugh-worthy especially for someone like me who too lives alone and eats alone ;), proves that she doesn't enjoy her own company ;). Probably she is a boring personality even to herself ;). But unfortunately the sob story hit the bulls's eye with our big hearted heroine ;). Once Shreya finished with her lip service of not wanting to intrude and joined Ananya, our dear girl realised her folly and started worrying about her volatile BF's reactions. Loved Kabir's handling of the whole situation, he indeed feels light after the kerchief burning and it reflects in the cool way he handled Shreya, his sarcasm was top notch, and the eye glances exchange between the leads were so real and cute. The way Ananya requested him with her eyes to behave, his initial response in negation and then finally succumbing to her wish, hats off the to person who conceived the scene and the actors (Kirtika and Rajeev) who made it perfect with their performance. Shreya keenly observing this exchange, her irritation with the level of comfort and intimacy between the couple was obvious.,
After this, our hero seems to have lowered his guard too much, to the level where he goes on to recollect Shreya's eating preferences and ever suggest menu based on them. A wrong move, but the scene did look perfectly natural even till that moment, because Kabir was acting on impulse and wasn't going overboard with his knowledge, Shreya was gleeful throughout this scene and jumped at her chance to cause more damage (in her opinion). She jumping into point out Kabir's allergy looked unnatural because it was purposeful and forced, exactly her intentions. Our heroine tried to show a brave face, but only a kid (or herself ;)) would have got fooled by her false show of magnanimity. She is very hurt, and by this time the dinner is spoilt being repair. Kabir until this moment was irritated, but not uncomfortable, and his irritation was due to the loss of precious alone time with his beloved. After this, Kabir was guilt ridden and was felling miserable, as always Ananya's pain hurts him more than herself, especially when he is partially responsible for the pain. Ma'm Shreya successful accomplished her Mission - RuinDate :)
Btw, can anyone tell me why Ananya needed to come ahead to get the table? Couldn't she have come along with Kabir? Is it to just make her fall prey to Shreya's scheming sweetness? We all wondered the date might have a twist as we already had one normal date, but this twist was totally unexpected, atleast for me..
At the end of the day, all is well that ends well. Nothing is lost because of this spoilt date, Kabir is reminded of the fact that he should never let his guards down in the presence of Shreya, Ananya realises that she has to be selfish at times, and that Shreya is not just another boss, but her beloved's ex. And hopefully Kabir catches on Ananya's comment about informing everyone at office about her date and does some investigation with the help of Ronnie to find out who could have leaked the info to Shreya.
While Ananya made me feel sorry for her in the last scene, Kabir saved the day with his cute & thoughtful cheering up of Ananya (and us ;)). He is indeed a great boyfriend, to know exactly how to make his GF smile and retain that smile.
The one disappointment I have on Kabir still, he not giving importance to his future MIL's wrath. That's totally unlike Kabir, and I am so disappointed with him for prioritising the dinner over a talk with Anita. Still hoping to see scene between them as a FB (Kabir could have gone to Kashyap's house before his bulletin to pacify Anita), hoping for such a sequence. Fingers crossed.
Ananya is again put on a spot by Shreya with her fake sweetness in the precap, who could deny offer of friendship after such honeyed words.. Poor girl..
