finally our Jawans killed the terrorists... but 13 precious lives r lost...now it's time to take actions against the criminals

The attack on police station does prove two things
Either the police is not given proper weapons to handle emergency situation or proper training
Also it cud be the police was just idling in police station. What I wonder is that wud police take precautionary measures now on, as terrorists found it easy pray.
If army has to intervened everytime for safety, then what's the need of so much of police,
It clearly shows Indian police does need major reforms. Police cud be less in qty, but shud be trained and equipped well, paid well at the same time, as

It is a wake up call for us, that infiltrated terrorists can stage attacks even in the Punjab, which has been completely peaceful for the last 15 years. In such surprise attacks, the casualties are almost always higher among the defenders, as the attacking terrorists have the advantage of the surprise element.

Now there will be no surprise element, but the manpower deployed for preventing such attacks is diverted from their usual policing duties. Which is just what the terrorists want.

But the resilience of the Indian people is phenomenal, witness Mumbai after 26/11, and I am sure the people of Gurdaspur will rise above this attack and work with the authorities to prevent repeat attacks.
