After all the hype and controversy, the inaugural Gold Awards will be held in Mauritius on September 22. This is the first time that a television awards ceremony will be taking place abroad.
Romit Raj, who has been nominated for his role (Yuvraj) in Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaan, says:" I am excited about these awards though I am not expecting it. It is too early to get nominated for this role as everyone knows this is my first show. There are strong contenders in this category (negative role). They are more experienced and are good actors. My team is very excited about my nomination. I will give credit for this to my creative head and director."

Romit hasn't informed his parents about this nomination. He feels it is always better to tell them about winning awards than getting nominated. "I want to give them a surprise if I win the award. Twinkle Bajpai, who is playing my sister in the show, is coming with me for the awards."
The other celebrities expected to attend the event are Rajeev Khandelwal and Aamna Sharif, Hussain-Tina, Manoj Bidwai, Poonam Dhillon, Mithun Chakraborty, Rohit and Mansi Roy, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Shruti Ulfat.
The celebs who are going to perform include Urvashi Dholakia, Manav Gohil-Shweta Kawatraa, Gaurav Chopra - Narayani Shasrti, Varun and Rajeshwari Badola.
