Just watched it again and I have to talk about that button-opening scene though. Not just for the usual PaNi level of execution [that is a given], but I thought it was really well-written too. Yes there was this element of possessiveness and desire in the way he was opening her buttons, but more than that, the way he so fiercely said that he HATED it- the fact that she had to lie and hide and disguise herself just so she could see him, he couldn't stand it. She loves him, she has all the rights in the world to come and be with him, and the fact that she could not do so freely, it angered him. He started unbuttoning that shirt with so much anger and frustration- at that moment it stood for Noyonika and all the deceit rife in his world, and he NEVER wants Nandini to be affected by it or turn to it in any way, especially not for him.
Props to the writers for transitioning into calmness so well when she says that she managed, she survived, and that they're still together at the end of the day. The bigger picture, always. And now that he is well, he would have to handle it all and not bother her, all of it while casually buttoning her shirt back. And he simply nods and says- Okay.
Yes she does lie, even if admitting it goes against her grain. Yes, she will lie and cheat for him, again and again, and still remain the innocent idealist that she has always been. Because she knows it's just a cover, eventually he'll wake up and then make it all okay.
