sanyukta's confusion very nicely depicted..even Randhir n Rehan are trying to figure out what's happening with them..but even here I want it to be Randhir because I have already started liking him(though his acts were crossing the line) n feeling bad for him n more so for sanyukta because she has unwantedly n unfortunately become a part of this bet.:(

Hello my dear and lovely readers...firstly thank you all so much for your lovely comments and for waiting patiently for the update of this FF...i am really very sorry for not updating frequently, as i dont get enough time ...but i will try to be regular 😳

This chappy is dedicated to my dear Lichuu...Richa/P.Ritz , as it was her b'day a few days back and i had promised her to update this FF 😳...i hope you like it Lichu.. 🤗

Chapter 7

"There , now I can assure you Rehan will not be able to take his eyes off from you, you look gorgeous Sanyukta..." Said Vidushi, as she gave the final touch up to Sanyukta's make up, and stepped back to admire her handiwork...

"Absolutely Vids, someone is going to fall on his knees tonight..." chirped Kaustuki...

"Not someone Kaustu...quite a few...i am sure" winked Vids...

"You girls need to stop making me become over confident..." Sanyukta smiled saying this...she stepped back from the mirror, to observe her reflection...she looked pretty in a strapless lilac dress which ended at her mid-thigh...dark brown curls encircled her face, accentuating her sharp features...deep red lipstick gave her a fuller lips and Vidushi has given her eyes a Smokey look with dark kohl ...there was very light make up on her face, which highlighted more her natural beauty and features...Pairing with her dress, she wore, a pair of silver stilettos...and very simple jewellery, it consisted of a plain single chained pendant , matching earrings and bracelet...

Sanyukta looked nervously at the shoes she was wearing...never in her life she has wore such high heels...she wondered how she will spend an entire evening wearing them, when she cant even stand properly wearing it...on top of that her naked shoulders are giving her serious complex...she felt uncomfortable at the lack of clothing on that particular part not to mention the short length of the dress...she felt over-exposed, and under dressed ...she looked at Vidushi and Kaustuki with woeful expression and said "May be I should wear something else...err...something longer...a bit more covered...don't you think?"

Sanyukta knew immediately that she has made a huge mistake by even suggesting that, for both Kaustuki and Vidushi were giving her murderous glances...

"Sure, Sanyu...how about you wear these?..." Vidushi smiled sarcastically and held a pair of very faded old jeans and an equally faded grey t-shirt...

Sanyukta looked longingly at those clothes...they were her favourites...Kaustuki caught that glance and quickly snatched the clothes away from Vidushi's hands fearing Sanyukta might just go ahead and wear those to the party... " No way Vids...Sanyu don't listen to her...you are looking stunning...its only for the evening...come on you cannot go to the party looking like a chimney sweeper right?"...Kaustuki said, trying to boost Sanyukta's confidence...

"I suppose you are right..." Sanyukta sighed looking at her dress... "well, you people are looking stunning as well..." Sanyukta smiled approvingly , as she took in Vidushi's emerald green sequinned dress and Kaustuki's navy blue dress...both were looking gorgeous...

"Oh...we must hurry...Parth is going to meet me at the corridor...in ten minutes..." Vidushi exclaimed suddenly...rushing to collect her clutch purse...and hurriedly touching up her gloss...

Kaustuki also rushed to collect her belongings...

Within ten minutes, the three girls, came out of the room, and set off to meet their respective partners...

It had came as a shocker to both Vidushi and Kaustuki when she barged into their room three days back announcing that Rehan has asked her to accompany him to the party...she still remembered she barely choked out the news, she was so elated and excited...her friends had stared at her like they have been struck by a lightening...then both squealed in delight at the same moment and rushed to hug her...then like two ladies in a big mission, they had announced that they must go shopping for the party ...they dragged Sanyukta to the mall, and the result was the attire she has donned tonight for the party...all through her life she had spent wearing clothes which were two size bigger than hers, she was a tom boy and liked wearing boys clothes...most of the time she spent wearing her brother's old clothes...she liked them, they were comfortable...it was coming here in FITE that changed her outlook..not to mention meeting Rehan ...even though she never made a conscious effort to look pretty or dress pretty, but hanging out with Vidushi and Kaustuki , the two fashion divas , forced her to change her mind...they made her realise that dressing up is important..."it" , as they put it , "gives confidence"...But right now she was everything but "confident", she felt so self-conscious, she almost wished that she disappeared into the ground...

She looked around standing at the corridor, nervously towards the passage, as she waited for Rehan...soon enough she saw him walking towards her ...his face had a big smile plastered on it , as he spotted Sanyukta...he looked dashing in a navy shirt , a deep brown coat and denims...Sanyukta felt her heart stop beating...she had to remind herself to breath...Rehan looked startled as he took in Sanyukta...for a moment he just stood there, looking stunned...he smiled at her appreciatively and then gave that dazzling smile, that made Sanyukta almost swoon...he gave his arm to her...as Sanyukta locked her arm with his, he whispered in her ears " You are looking ravishing..."

Sanyukta could not help but blush a deep crimson...she could feel her face turning hot and her ears burning..." T...t..thank ...you..." she stuttered feeling embarrassed...

"Shall we go?" he asked her smiling...

She nodded in agreement, too nervous to say anything else...

The moment Randhir arrived at the party...he began scanning the crowd for that one face, which seemed to be driving him crazy...not talking to her for three days was making him behave like a druggie who has been denied of his daily dose...it surprised him that how could he in such a short time be addicted to a person to this magnitude...it was not that he had spent a lot of time with her...but he missed even those few moments that they had spent together...for in these three days he had not even said a "hi" to her let alone make a conversation...After their argument , Randhir had contemplated of even apologizing to Sanyukta for his dumb behaviour...but the moment he had seen Sanyunkta so happily agreeing to go to the party with Rehan, all his resolve went down the drain...cursing both Sanyukta and Rehan mentally he made a decision which had today brought him to this party and now he is stuck with Shanaya, who is hanging on his arm like a leech...how he wished to get rid of her...she was not bad, she was pretty , sweet and most people found her adorable...but she was just not right...right for him...well may be he should talk to her about this...may be its time he should suggest a break up ...but at this moment all he wanted to do was to find Sanyukta and go and talk to her...weirdly enough it did not matter to him if she even fought with him...he just wanted her to say something to him...he missed her ...and after being in denial of this fact for three whole days, he finally admitted this to himself...and it was time he stopped sulking and remain grumpy and finally make peace with Sanyukta...in any case his being grumpy does not seem to have affected Sanyukta in anyway...she at least looked cheerful in these past three days...may be she has already forgotten that they were friends...Randhir felt bitter as all these unpleasant thoughts ran through his mind...Oblivious to the fact that all the girls eyes were on him, for he looked dashing in his white t-shirt and deep blue denims , teamed with a deep brown leather jacket, he moved forward mingling into the crowd trying to spot Sanyukta...

"Hey wait up..." cried Shanaya, panting hard, as she tried to keep up with Randhir...she looked pretty in a baby pink dress, which hugged her hour glass figure perfectly...it was a bit too short for Randhir's liking as it ended way above her knees ,just a little below her thighs... but he had to admit she looked hot...

Randhir stopped abruptly as he heard Shanaya yelling at him...in his haste , he had almost forgotten that Shanaya was with him...he sighed and gave his arm to her, so that Shanaya could go with him...Shanaya took his arm eagerly and tried to drag him to a corner, where her friends were standing...

It was right then when he spotted her...she was standing at the entrance of the hall, with Rehan...Randhir's breath got knocked out as he saw her...she was looking breath taking...never in his dreams he had imagined that Sanyukta could look this gorgeous...yes, she was pretty, in a very innocent way...but tonight ...she was looking--- Ravishingly beautiful... Randhir did not want the word "hot" to describe her...it sounded cheap to him...and he did not want Sanyukta to be associated with such a word...yep! he was queer...and it was odd the possessiveness that he was feeling towards Sanyukta...he wanted to go and say a "hi" to her...but then his eyes fell on how Rehan's hand has snaked around Sanyukta's waist, and how he was holding her close against him...Sanyukta seemed pretty much happy, and was even comfortable with that...Randhir felt that familiar rage boiling up again...he abruptly turned around let Shanaya drag him with her ...

Sanyukta looked around the hall...it was decorated beautifully in pink, red, and white...heart shaped balloons and colourful confetti adorned the place...the college authorities had granted the fourth year the permission to use this auditorium for the party, since it was their last year in college...she felt excited, as it was the first time in her life that she is attending such a party...she blushed as she felt Rehan's protective hand around her waist...it made her heart flutter...she began searching for Vidushi and Kaustuki...as she spotted them, standing in a corner, sipping soft drinks from their glasses...she tried to drag Rehan there..but Rehan stopped her...he bent down a bit and whispered in her ears.." I want to spend this evening just with you...hope you won't mind if I don't want you to join your friends"

Sanyukta felt her breath getting hitched...she said in a low voice, smiling shyly " no..not at all...its...ok.."

"Hey..you can and join your friends for sometime...I will bring us some drinks..." Rehan winked at her and left...

Sanyukta went up to join Vidushi, Kaustuki, Parth and Jiggy... "wow..." cried out both Parth and Jiggy, as they saw the new and improved Sanyukta...

Sanyukta looked at them questioningly...they told in unison " you are looking gorgeous.."

She felt embarrassed at their complement and muttered a "thanks" smiling at them..

"Where is...uhmm...where is...Randhir...by the way?" Sanyukta asked hesitatingly...it had been three days since she had spoken to him...she had noticed Randhir was trying to avoid her...so she also did not bother to go and speak to him...it was all Randhir's fault that they had fought and she was in no mood to go and take the first step to sort it out...but she could not help but accept the fact that she missed his stupid , irritating ways, their squabbles and his pathetic flirting...her eyes looked around for him...but the crowd was so huge , it was difficult spotting him...

Parth smiled at Sanyukta s question and said... " he is just there...look straight...and I think he is looking right at you..."

Sanyukta looked at the way Parth was pointing...Randhir was looking drop dead gorgeous...his look suited the bad boy image he always seemed to want to portray ...she caught him, looking directly at her...his gaze was intense...it was as if he had been looking at her direction for quite some time...Shanaya was standing beside him, talking to her gang of friends...Randhir stood a bit away from there, looking absolutely disinterested in joining the conversation with Shanaya and her friends...Sanyukta looked away from his intense stare , feeling uncomfortable...Randhir did not even seemed to be bothered to look away from her...Sanyukta could feel his gaze on her even after she looked away...

"Sanyukta...here is your drink..." Rehan came upto her and gave her the drink...he then pressed her hand softly with his, and murmured in her ear to come away with him...Sanyukta excused herself from her group of friends and followed Rehan...All this time she had this feeling in the pit of her stomach that Randhir's eyes were still following her...

Rehan was about to say something to her...when a loud announcement stopped him from doing so...one of the fourth year had come up on the stage and announced that the Dj has arrived and invited everyone to the dance floor...there was a loud round of applause...and just then the Dj started the music...everyone seemed began to rush towards the dance floor...

Rehan smirked at Sanyukta and grabbed her hand taking her to the dance floor...Sanyukta tried to protest lightly, saying she cant dance...he just smiled at her and said " just follow my lead, and you will be ok"

Sanyukta could not say a "no" to him...she just nodded nervously...

It was a fast paced song and Rehan twirled and turned her, causing her to crash against his chest a number of times...she felt his hands moving down her waist, bringing her closer to him...her heart beat faster as he did that...then she saw him bringing his face closer to hers, as if he was going to kiss her...she closed her eyes tightly, feeling her breath hitching...then she felt him brushing his lips softly against her cheeks...it was a light peck...she opened her eyes and saw him smiling at her...she smiled back at him awkwardly...

Rehan then whispered softly in her ears " Sanyukta...will you be my girlfriend?"

Sanyukta blushed as he said that...she could not believe her ears that Rehan was proposing her...but the thing was did she want to be his girlfriend? ...did he love her? Or was it just a momentary attraction for him towards her...the even bigger question was did she love him?...she knew she had a major crush on him...and it was pretty intense...but love?...she was confused about that...but again the prospect of her becoming The Rehan Sharma's girlfriend excited her...she hesitated a bit as she processed all these messed up thoughts and then softly said " Yes..." , blushing a bright red...

Rehan smiled at her and hugged her warmly...it was true, he had made friendship with Sanyukta only for the sake of that bet...but after knowing her, spending time with her--- he did not know when he became so much fond of her...yes he tried to avoid that feeling for sometime...but he could not...today he proposed her for the bet...yes, he had to do that, for he needed to win...may be he did not love Sanyukta, the way it should be...like someone does a girl when they propose her ...but it did not mean that he was faking all of it...his fondness for her was not fake...its just he was not in love with her...yet...he could not cross out the possibility though...

Sanyukta felt someone watching her, as she was hugging Rehan...she broke away from the hug and turned her head...she saw a bit further from where she was, Randhir was looking at her...his eyes had a look so intense, that his scorching glance could almost burn a hole in her head ...she saw him turn his head away, as their eyes met...

Randhir's eyes had not left Sanyukta for once all through the evening...even when Shanaya was with him, all the time...he did not even spare a glance at her...Shanaya had dragged him to the dance floor to dance with her...and very reluctantly he danced with her...but when his eyes fell towards Sanyukta and Rehan dancing...he could feel his rage creeping up again...he forced away his eyes from them...and instead grabbed Shanaya's waist, pulling her closer to him...Shanaya smiled and placed her head on his shoulder , wrapping her arms around him, swaying to the beat of the music...it was like his eyes had a mind of their own...they again fixated on Sanyukta and Rehan...it was then Randhir saw that Rehan whispering something in Sanyukta's ears and then he saw "the hug"...it was like he got struck by a lightning bolt...he froze to the spot...he felt his anger reaching to a point of oblivion...it was that moment when Sanyukta looked at him, breaking the hug...Randhir had turned his head away, breaking the eye contact...the rage still coursed through his body...and as Shanaya pressed herself closer to him and place a light kiss on his neck, he clenched his hands...with a jerk he suddenly pulled himself away from Shanaya...and then in a cold voice, he told her... "its over...I cant do this anymore..."

Shanaya looking surprised asked him " what do you mean?"

Randhir told her, his voice shaking in rage ..." it means...I am breaking up with you...please go, Shanaya, and leave me alone...we are done.."

Without waiting for a response from her, Randhir stormed out of the hall...

it was yet another awesome update dear. after a long time u hv updated it nevertheless it was as usual fantastic update. story is getting more interesting after each update. both brother r fallen for sanyu but don't want to accept it. n for sanyu she has a huge crush on rehan but for rd it seem to b her soulmate. n she is confused whether her crush with rehan is actually her love too. but she ll realizes it soon that rehan is only her infatuation nothing else n rd is his love his soulmate everything I guess may b thats stored in future but it up to where u ll take this story. one good thing of this update rd broken up with shanaya which badly needed. but rehan proposal n sanyu acceptance was quite too early to accept. m not against with rehan both brother's r playing there card n both r wrong coz they r playing with a innoncent soil feeling which they ll regret badly later but d fact is sandhir r meant to b together. n for this hope that in future sandhir ll b together m just tolerating d rehan n sanyu part. do update soon. n thanks for d pm
