Heartbeat shows on ultrasound from around 8 weeks, but this is not an abdominal scan, but an internal one. I had one as early as 6.5 week. I'm not sure how common they are in India but they are very common in Europe. Ultrasound is a safe test, I am not sure why any doctor would delay one till 5 months. Here we usually get 3 scans - at 12 weeks, 20 weeks and sometimes 32 weeks. More, if there are complications. But of course in DABH time passes by very quickly sometimes, and sometimes 1 day is 15 days, so we just need to accept this 😊.

I am not sure of your doctor but mine didn't subject me to ultrasound till the 5th month. So only if they suspect of twins or some other complications, they will ask the lady to undergo and not otherwise. So normally the first ultrasound will be done by the after 12 weeks and not during 5th week

Well I did go for an ultrasound at 5 weeks and they did not suspect twins it was because I started spotting a little. So please don't tell me it's not done till the 12th week because I had it done and I work at a doctors office and they are done around the 6th week now.
