Aditya Pancholi has had a long history of violent behaviour. He had roughed up a neighbour at his home in January 2013. The latest in a long line of mortifying brawls and skirmishes is the incident at a pub last week where under the influence of alcohol, he turned violent...once again.
A prominent filmmaker says Pancholi's behaviour is getting increasingly unacceptable. "Recently, on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, he thrashed a junior artiste because he thought the guy was laughing at him. Around a 100 junior artistes rushed angrily towards him. Clearly, they meant to draw blood. Pancholi would have been lynched that day on the sets. He fled the scene. But his family has nowhere to run to. They must face the humiliation of watching the man of the house repeatedly bring shame to the family. There's no way out of the situation. Aditya Pancholi kabhi nahin sudhrega."
There is growing concern among people close to Aditya Pancholi's family, especially those who care for his wife Zarina Wahab, that his constantly violent behaviour will affect son Sooraj's career. The boy is all set to make his screen debut in the remake of Subhash Ghai's Hero, even as he tries to rebuild his life after a nightmarish run-in with the law over the alleged suicide of his girlfriend Jiah Khan. A source that knows the family well says, "Zarina has stood by Nirmal (Aditya Pancholi's real name) through thick and thin. She has suffered through his brawls and affairs for the sake of the children. The final straw was when she had to watch her son being put through a media trial because of Nirmal's violent reputation. She has borne his behaviour stoically. But is now quite fed up of his volatile temper and violent outbursts."
