A man in his late twenties came rushing down the stairs making his way to the exit when a voice stopped him.
"Chotte, wait at least have your breakfast before leaving."
"Di, I m not feeling hungry and I am getting late for my meetings."
"Chotte have you seen yourself? How weak you have become."
"Ok Di, I will order something from canteen."
"Ok. I am leaving you today but promise me that you will eat something in your office."
"Promise. Now can I leave?" he said impatiently.
"Chotte" she said hesitatingly.
"Yes Di." He said now giving full attention to his sister.
"Arnav, actually yesterday Sheetal and her parents had come with your and her alliance."
"So, what did you say?" he said nonchalantly.
"I said yes."
"Why?" he asked in a low dangerous whisper which had a lot more meaning that it seem.
"Three years Arnav. Three years have passed. How long will you be like this? I won't be there for you after a while. You will need someone to share your life with and she is dead."
"I don't need anyone. She was, she is and will always be my first and last love. I will never ever give her place to any other girl and that's final. Do you understand?" his voice echoing in the house and then he marched off.
"But Arnav..." her word left unheard.
"I wish she comes back Arnav but life doesn't go according to our wishes, it doesn't wait for anyone. I wish you move ahead someday." She prayed and with a sigh she left to complete her daily task.

He watched the buildings as the car moved ahead. It seemed like yesterday only he had met her. Fell in love with her...
They had hit off at the first meeting itself but were poles apart.

*Flash back *
It had been 6 months since she had been working in his office as his PA. He had realized that he had is in love with her when he felt jealous as he saw her talking with his manager on the new year party, when he felt protective towards her when he rescued her from some goons, when he felt possessiveness towards her as he saw a men lusting over her when they were at a construction side, when he felt pain in his heart as she was mourning over her parent's death anniversary, when he felt complete and peaceful when she hugged him in excitement of grabbing their deal successfully, when he had felt pride of being the one to make her smile, when he saw her eating roadside gol gappe like a 5 year old child got an ice-cream and fell in love with her again for her innocence and now he was looking for a perfect moment to purpose her.
He was brought back from his thoughts by the knock on his door.
"Come in." he replied calmly but was irritated from inside.
"Arnav, I have reviewed Mr. Khorana's file." She said keeping the file on his desk and then continuing "I guess there is no task left for me to do and you also have no meeting for today so I was wondering if I could take an early off today." She said now occupying the chair infront of his desk. When they had become friend he had asked her to stop calling him Sir' and she had protested saying that she would like to keep their work life professional only but he had been adamant on his decision, not responding to her whenever she would call him Sir' and at last she gave in.
"Hmm...now come I will drop you. " he said getting up from his seat and grabbing his car keys.
She knew that arguing with him on this matter would be futile at the end so agreed quietly.

The feeling of having her with him was so serene that he wanted to capture it forever.
"Arnav...umm...can we stop at the restaurant near my flat, actually I haven't made anything at home to eat and I am too exhausted to do so." She said unsure.
"You don't need to hesitate after all it will be my pleasure to dine with you. "He said changing the gears of his SUV.

They had a single course meal followed by jalebi for her and a strong black coffee for him.
After they finished "We should go now, it's very late." She said and thought of paying the bill but then brushed off knowing well that it will just lead to another futile argument with him.
"Ok." He said and then gestured a waiter and asked him to make their bill which he brought in a while and after clearing off the bill, they went outside.
"Arnav...umm...I will take my leave from here. My home is just a distance from here and I want to walk back, hope you don't mind." She said with her hazel eyes holding expectations.
Arnav thought for a while and then spoke "Ok but I will accompany you." To which she nodded.

They then walk up to her house from there entwining their hands unknowingly though being fully aware of what's going on. Arnav couldn't explain how blissful he was feeling right now; the feeling of having her near him was really peaceful and joyous.
Suddenly he felt that something was amiss and incomplete and somewhere he knew what and now was just the time.
She frowned at the sudden disappearance of warmth and felt that Arnav wasn't walking beside her anymore, with a fear gripping in her heart she turned only to be astonished at the sight presented to her, Arnav was kneeling on his one knee with his hand outstretching a gorgeous ring towards her.
Arnav took a breath feeling nervous all of a sudden but then he knew now or never, after composing himself he spoke with determination while making an eye contact with her "Miss Gupta, I love you. I want to sleep every night seeing your face last and want to wake up in your arms every morning seeing your face first. I want every single moment of my life to live with you, I want you to teach me what love is throughout my life, I can't say that I won't shout at you or get angry but I promise that I will take all your pains away, I may not be good with words but I hope that you'll be able to understand my love through my actions. Will u marry me and be my better half? Will you do the honor of filling my life with your sweet innocent charms? Will you be mine, love?" he said with bated breath.
To say she was surprised would be an underestimation, never in her life had she heard such beautiful confession from anyone. It all seemed like a fairytale to her. Too overwhelmed with her emotions all she could do was nod to which Arnav stood up and slide the ring in her ring finger.
Arnav hugged her to him, moulding her into him and he dipped his head into her sweet mint with a hint of lemon scented hair, taking a whiff of her fragrance. Feeling her soft hands press around his neck, her heart thudding accompanying his, her tears wetting him and he finally founded his soul mate.
*Flashback over*
He came out of his reverie hearing the loud horn of vehicles and continued driving towards his destination.

Aman entered the cabin with a file in his hand "ASR, here is the contract papers with MnM's textile. We need yo..." he stopped speaking seeing his boss cum friend not responding and then he noticed him completely. He was standing infront of the floor to ceiling length glass looking outside with a distant look in his eyes. He knew his friend was lost in memories...memories of her.
He walked up to him and kept his hand on his shoulder and then gave a little squeeze which made come out of his trance.
He was thinking about the times he spend with her till he felt a slight squeeze on his shoulder and he didn't need to turn to know who it was. He wiped his tears, which had betrayed him, not wanting to show his sorrows to anyone.
He saw his friend wiping his tears and felt really bad for him "Arnav for how long will you hold on to her, you need to let go off her memories but that doesn't mean that you have to forget her because even I can't do that. You need to move on and live your life; you still have long life ahead.
"You think I don't try. I tried to forget every damn moment I spend with her. I tried to ignore everything that would make me remember her again but I couldn't avoid it. I even tried to divert my mind in work so that I won't think about her but it also went in vain. I tried to see other girls in her place but felt suffocated to even think about it. She promised me Aman that she will never leave me, that she'll always be with me till our last breath and I'm still alive. I can still feel my heart beating for her which would have stopped long ago if she didn't existed. Please Aman just let me live in the hope that she would come back to me someday soon. I don't think it's too much to ask for? "
Aman couldn't bear anymore. He couldn't see the strong and ruthless ASR break down. Most of all he couldn't see his best friend break down. It was difficult for him too, to forget the girl he thought as his small sister but his pain was nothing compared to his friend. He just couldn't. He just prayed the mighty to bring his friend's happiness back to him and walked away it was too much for him. Too much...

He checked the time on his watch which showed 11 past 10 knowing that everyone must have left by now he also started to leave home but stopped suddenly seeing his boss's cabin lights on and thought of checking once.
He knocked on the door and waited for permission to enter. He knocked again and then frowned having no response from the other side. Finally getting worried he pushed open the door and the sight that greeted him made him horrified. His friend was sprawled on the floor unconscious.

His head was throbbing. He tried opening his eyes but they felt too heavy like stones. He could hear some voices, one he was familiar with and others unknown. Of what he could understand was that he had fainted because his sugar had become low.
At last after a lot of tries I could open my eyes but closed instantly because of the bright light and blinked sometimes slowly adjusting my sight. I tried to get up but failed. I tried again this time successfully getting up. I could hear Aman telling me to rest but I gestured him to stop. I picked up my blazer which was resting on the couch. I wanted to run away from everyone.
Suddenly I bumped into someone soft and familiar. I caught her before she could fall. Her long hair covered her face preventing me to see her face and I had this sudden urge to her face which made me shocked and I pushed her hair back not knowing that my life is going to change soon but this time for good.
Then it happened, cloud busted into tears, earth stopped rotating, everything stopped, he forgot the whole world it seemed like only they both existed and no one else.
He couldn't believe that the face he longed to see was infront of him, in his arms. He so wished it wasn't one of his dreams because now he didn't had enough strength of another heat break. But the way his heart rejoicing and his soul felt at peace like after a long journey it finally found home. He knew that it was not one of his imaginations.
"Khushi" came a broken whisper and her snapped up to see his eyes. His wait was finally over. His faith in their love finally conquered their fate. Now he would make sure that they get a happily ever after.
So how was it. Hope you all like it. I hope it wasn't too emotional. Ignore the typo mistakes i haven't rechecked it yet.
