its a myth actually in 90's there were westren kinda song made like neela dupata peela suite MJ song They dont really care about us, Pehla nasha pehla khumar was westren kinda feel , else many westrn songs have been copied like jab koi baat bigar jaye from 100 miles, raja ko rani se pyar was copied from Godfather film music u cant blame westren they have used westren and old pakistani tunes to big music of 90's and some hit songs of 90's were actually a copy of old Pakistani songs i think many still dont know, but bollywood had produced tradional kind of songs till 2005 likes of veer zaara, juile,muskaan,line of control kargil, chalte chalte,tum bin, khakhe.
