Chapter 1 - Ek Baar Phir
Na mere dil ki dhadkan ladkhadaaye meri baaton mein

08.30 PM.
He watches as she walks on.
The sight so familiar to his eyes, he cannot even recall the number of times his eyes followed her form as she parted from him in the past so many times before.
However, the very sight tonight sinks his heart.
She is long gone and yet he cannot bring himself to move an inch.
His eyes linger on the spot she last appeared from his line of vision.
Her figure disappearing as she entered her car in the parking lot which she drove away as he continues to stand here feeling his heartbreak all over again.
His vision finally clouds as tears pool in his eyes making it impossible to keep looking on.
Despite his best efforts to not, he closes his eyes, the tears continue to fall from behind his closed lids even when he tries to hold them in.
Her parting words echoing in his ears,
"Bye, take care."
Her face once again appearing in his mind' eye as he recalls how she had been so firm, so resolute in her stance. Her voice had been firm, as she had uttered those words even when her eyes revealed their torment.
Those beautiful eyes of hers that had spelled out to him all their secrets as they always did. Those eyes do not lie or deceive ever.
He knows he should be happy, happy for her...this is what he wanted, always for her - that she be happy and despite everything she is...and yet it feels as if his heart has broken all over again. He feels a weight in his chest that threatens to explode him and yet he cannot do a thing about it; except pray - for her and for her happiness.
She deserves it, every bit of it.
He hopes that even if his wish of having her forever by him went in vain, his desire to hold her forever in his arms remained unfulfilled - this prayer of his is answered, this wish, this desire be fulfilled - that she gets everything she ever hoped or asked for.
He hopes with all his heart that all and any gods, if they exist, listen to him at least this once.
He whispers the words even when he knows she is long gone, when he knows she can't even listen to him since he is unable to hold back himself,
"Goodbye Ishita...I'll always miss you. I will always love you. Forever and ever."
