Dear Friends:

Sorry for this horrible post, but, I am disappointed with the way crime against women are being portrayed in this television show, and everytime criminals getting away with it:

Crime # 1 : Ishita getting harassed by Param, and rape attempt by him

Outcome: Param goes to jail for couple of days, and god knows what happens to the case, he is released, and is back...Ishita is the sufferer...

Message sent: its ok to try to rape a women, as long as you have money to get yourself out.

Crime #2: Raman threatens to rape her and show his mardangi

Outcome: Raman gets away with sorry

message: its okay to scare the hell out of your wife, and force her...sorry is enough to cure all wrong doings in marriage, including harassment and rapes

Crime #3: Group of men are surrounding Ishita, and treating her like a peace of meat. She is asking to let her go, begging, crying, no one does anything.

Outcome: Raman is planning on ditching her for supposedly her own good. and those animals get away with laughter and entertainment.

Message: you can harass women even if she says sorry, and asks you to let go off her, and man can getaway with anything...

Bravooo Creative writers of YHM...Your hunger for TRP is crossing the limits of women exploitation and ill treatment of women...Even if this is a show, no where has it been shown, that this is not okay...Sorry won't be watching the show anymore, especially after what you are planning on showing about harassment of Ishita by so many men, and such humiliation of women...

Thanks for this post. The overall portrayal of women, women oriented issues and feminism is pathetic in this show.

What I truly liked about this show initially was ill treatment of society towards women who cannot bear child, motherhood, Single mother adoption issues etc. Initially they showed a strong independant lady who speaks her mind about Social ilL.

Nowadays its just about TRPS nothing else, CVs r taking up social causes but most of them r given such bad treatment in the end that the overall cause is not justified at all.

Param molestation case- not just he got out of that but also they showed Ishita meeting him in dead of the night n inviting him home.
Mihika allowing Ashok to ogle at her etc.
Social message- women should put up with Lecherous men if they r family members.

Raman's taunts- at times Ishita wud voice out her anger against it but at times she wud bear it esp when he said awaaz kaano mein chubti hai, tumhara muh kachra hai etc.
Message- Men no matter how educated or civilized have all the rights to talk inappropriately with women and wives should bear it.

Raman Man handling Ishita- This was horribly tackled, Ishita was shown as happily having Nok Jhoks n arguments next day.
Message- Men get away with everything under the sun, women should happily put up with horrible behaviour from men.

Sexual Harrassment case filed by Sarika- This again is hanging but the last they showed Romi not agreeing to Sarika's demands.
Message- If they marry it means marriage is the problem of all woes for women and if they dont then her life will b living hell. Again only woman will suffer majorly.

Adi's child harrassment case- Its ok to make fake calls to police under child harrassment charges and police will arrest without any evidence believing an 11 year old.
Message- lot of young ones watch this show coz of Ruhi and 7.30 slot, they might think of doing similar prank calls against their parents un-necessarily disturbing Police.

Recent OLV- I dont know the outcome as it has not aired but really dont want Raman to help her or she putting up with it.
Yshud women put up with such horrible behaviour, I hope she takes legal action against them.

Cvs either dont take up serious issues if u r not able to give justice to them or if u want to show serious issues then execute it properly. I know this is reel and all that jazz but YHM is not a hypothetical story something like Matrix (where one enters computer program) or Star wars (where people and aliens co exist together )etc. Films and Television is a strong medium and it reflects our society, please have some moral obligations towards what is being shown.

our YHM is loosing the charm...the quality which was what YHM famous for is going down the drains...

currently its just a show that runs a race of trps competition...

its Divan/Ishra hooking us on the show currently...and by god bless ruhi if she gets the screen space...but how long RuManShita will hook us on when the script is going from bad to worst...

the story abt RuManShita lives...which is the pillar and soul of the show is now nowhere to be seen...it is now merely a typical ekta's show...with her disgusting tracks...i am bet just give another 3 months...it will go for a huge leap...

I understand that too yaar...but, women are human beings, if you want to make the show interesting, use some other means...why always show such crap...this kind of mentality is leading to so many harrassments, rapes and domestic violence against our women...And this is all being shown during prime time, when not just adults but also kids are watching these shows...

TRP is one thing, but, seriously, what are they thinking??? women are not object, and don't treat them like one...you want twists and turns, than think something else...why it always has to end up with rape and harassment related things???

i completely agree yaar...its disgusting and disturbing to watch on-screen...how many times are they going to show women's insult in form ishita...mihika...sarika...its painful to watch...womens are not objects for public humiliation...molest...attempt to rape...MMS scandal...cheated in love and leads to pregnancy...i feel...shown once or twice is enough...they need to tone down...

Exactly my point...Twists and turns are fine, that is what show is about...But, none of the outcomes shown are positive outcomes...All of them are showing, repeatedly harassment of women, and men getting away with it...7:30 slot is there too...And totally little kids are watching the show because of Ruhi...they adore her...And this is totally screwing with their head tooo...and even if kids don't watch lets say, many young men are watching it, many wives and husbands watch it together, what impression are they getting???? ...😡😡 Come up with something different, we had enough of harassment nonsense...

Dear I wish I could.

I dont have twitter and stuff...If you know them, you are free to copy and paste...I just felt very disgusted after the promo, and wanted to bring it up with everyone.

HOpefully, india-forums will take charge, and put it forward to the writers

I dont know if I am trying to hurt you or comfort you by saying this...

The CVs seem to have decided confession of ANY kind is NOT happening ANY time soon. I listen to DTs messages very carefully at the end of OLVs... for over four months now she has ONLY been saying "Haan Ishiuta aur Raman ke beech mein KUCH TO HAI" or she will say "Haan Raman Ishita ke liye THODIII SI feelings hain" Ishita aur Raman ke beech mein THODI THODI baatein honey lagi hain"

I mean FOUR MONTHS?

Such verbal cues indicate she is not allowed to reveal anything more, basically just dangle the fruit and continue maintaining status quo. Which DT does beautifully...

I am looking at this whole new twist this way:

IF this had something to do with Shagun, then all the screen time would be hogged by Anita, we would all complain how come DT is no longer the lead.

By consistently throwing Ishita in harm's way they atleast ensuring the focus is on DT

They are trying to compete with one other show I know of where the female lead is a top cop

I am not sure about anyone else, on the Top 10, I dont watch any other shows... I feel CVs are some how compelled to keep the "women's issues" on top of viewer's minds...

Ishita is a dentist, could they have crafted a rivalry story?

Yes

Could they have crafted a legitimate malpractice story instead of the one they had with that piece of wood Sooraj?

Absolutely

Could they have crafted a story where she gets into trouble for not filing taxes or filing taxes that are not consistent with her income somehow highlighting her self employment status, had a long drawn out legal battle with it, affecting her relationship with Raman?

YES

(A friend of mine in India was pick pocketed in Blore on a Volvo bus just as she was about to get off one evening... the crooks charged her Account Rs.198,000 within an hour. the bank started collections prioceedings... she sued the bank NOTHING came of it, the court battle lasted over two years. She is quite high up on the corp ladder for a tech giant... her marriage took a toll)

Unfortunately Desi TV writers , and wealthy production houses like Balaji are unwilling to invest in that task.

THIS is the best we can get, from this show keeping the focus on ISHRA

However sad that sounds😭
