ajay devgan joining fitoor cast

Abhishek Kapoor's next film, Fitoor, has added another big name to its star-studded cast. Ajay Devgn has been asked to join Rekha, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur in the Indian version of Charles Dickens's classic novel Great Expectations.

Ajay plays Muazzam, modelled on the convict Abel Magwitch, who befriends young Pip and returns a favour done by the boy many years later as his secret benefactor.

In the film, Aditya plays the protagonist based on Pip.

Says a source close to the unit, "Ajay responded with interest to Gattu's (as he is fondly called) narration and gave his verbal consent, but hasn't signed the film yet."

Mirror has it that Ajay will not be required in the first schedule, which kicks off in Mumbai later this month. The film was supposed to flag off in Kashmir last month, but the floods in the Valley wrecked that plan.

Most of Ajay's scenes will be with Aditya, who replaced Sushant Singh Rajput. "Ajay's role is a cameo but a very important one, most of his scenes will be in the first half of the film," adds the source.
