This is one of the very best films of female empowerment.
Originally released in 1988 it won Rekha her second award for Filmfare Best Actress.
The upcoming release of Rekha's Khoobsurat remake (for which she won her first award) got me thinking...
Who do you think would be the best choice for a potential remake.
Also please suggest who you think should play the other roles.

CAST:
Rekha
Kabir Bedi
Sonu Walia

Either PC or Vidya. But PC has an edge as she can pull off the glamour part very well.
So voting for Priyanka.

Not one of the names mentioned, sorry.

I would actually love to see Kajol, Karishma Kapoor but especially Urmila Matondkar in this role.

Kajol lacks glamour to pull off the second half. Urmila has that oomph but she would need to look young. Looks rather jaded now. If they can make her look young then she can easily nail this film. She should have done such a film in her prime when she was still popular.

No one. Please leave Rekha alone. No one matches her caliber. If a need must arise, I'd vote for Urmila Matondkar or Kajol.

Piggy Chops is equally great!

I would actually love a remake with the guy pretending to fall for an older woman with money, not one with great looks. Not a widow with not so great looks.😛. It just backfires the next time he falls for an older woman, only this time the woman is more glamorous after a make over and possible nip and tuck..😉

I would really, really, really love Urmila to do something like this..

Just realized you and I posted a similar comment. 😃

I had Gupt and PTKK / Ek Haseena Thi in mind when I posted that comment. 😃

I think the role was so great that if it was remade today it would easily win the lead star a Best Actress Award.
I think Sonakshi could pull it off amazingly. Priyanka of course. And I think Deepika would suit the type of role, and it would really push her as an artiste.

Imagine Deepika playing Rekha's role and Katrina playing Sonu Walia's role.

Remember that dance-off song they had "Main Haseena Gazab Ki" - a new version of that would be CRAZY!
