Their almost first mulaqaat happened when he had come to Hawa Mahal or call it a Haveli. He was actually awestruck by the beauty of the Palace. It was magnificent and ethereal, well these things never exists in England. He was here with his friend Aditya . He was the RajKumar of this huge and beautiful Palace. He was welcomed and greeted warmly by his Maayi, Daadi sa, Babu sa and the list goes on.
He was looking around, admiring everything that came in view when he caught the sight of some women dressed in their traditional Ghagras, their faces veiled. Those colorful embroidered Ghagras was surely an interesting sight for him but what caught his absolute attention were those hazel eyes, looking at him with curiosity through the veil as she walked amidst those women. Their eyes locked.
He was amused. She was curious.
Totally mesmerized, he continued to stare at her. The moment she walked past him, he heard her mutter something Firangi' and avert her eyes away arrogantly. That was rude.
Firangi? Maybe he was hallucinating. He twitched his eyes and stared at her retreating figure. Daadi sa was ushering them inside quickly as if he and Aditya would eat them up without a burp if they stayed any longer.

The next time he had seen her when he was studying some files pacing to and fro in that ancient room, well for him it was an antique. He loved the architect. He was there to work on a project and the architect was inspiring; one of the reasons of coming here in Jaipur from England.
He had just turned around with a file in his hand when he felt someone quickly hide away, he felt something flash before his eyes. He shook his head wondering it to be Hari Prakash with his tea. He got back to study the file again when he again sensed someone gazing at him. Someone was there who was keeping an eye on him. Why?
He looked curiously at that antique room divider, his eyes went wide slightly when his gaze caught the sight of a chunari.
He arched his perfectly shaped eyebrow and inched forward and could see that whoever behind the room divider got alert sensing his approach and before he could push the room divider aside and catch the burglar, she rushed away from there in a lightening speed.
She? Of course it was she...clad in a beautiful embroidered Ghagra and a netted chunari over her head which trailed behind her as she sprinted. Her glass bangles composing a beautiful rhythm. But Arnav Singh Raizada was not thaat bad player.
He was a getting a nagging feeling that she was the same owner of hazel eyes who has made him sleepless at nights with her one ada. She was magic. Big Hazel eyes. He can't seem to forget her!
And before that tiny burglar could run away, he had caught her wrist and pulled her to himself with a force that she crashed into his chest. Her nose thudding against his shoulder blades.
The netted veil slipped down from her dainty hands and revealed her extra-ordinary beautiful face. It was the moment when Arnav Singh Raizada's breath caught in his throat and he almost forgot about his real world, drinking in the beauty.
Their eyes met. Yes! He was right! These were the same Hazel eyes who had very rudely diverted their attention from his handsome face, never a girl ever dared to do that before; one of the reason that attracted him to her.
Her hand was twisted behind her back and their chests rubbed as he kept her closer, his eyes boring in hers. They seemed deep and he was afraid to lose himself in that depth.
His gaze further traveled down to her thin and perfect cupid bow's shaped lips which shimmered under the moonlight coming from the cracked window in his room. While memorizing her beautiful features, he unnoticed the terror in her eyes and the way her body trembled under his highly intensified gaze.He realized it the moment that just how curious and restless he had been to get her glimpse.
Her magical eyes had held him captive in her witchcraft and now at the moment he felt free like a bird. He felt relieved and the restlessness seems to gone after finally able to get hold of her. The tiny little thing! Though he didn't know it was just the start.
Unfortunately, the gazing game came to an end when they heard footsteps nearing the room. She had pushed him away quickly, and had run away veiling her face again. Though Hari Prakash who came inside with his tea had noticed everything including Arnav Babu's lost state.
"Arnav Babu" he called him.
"Huhn" he jerked slightly at the sudden intrusion and turned around. He smiled at him before looking at him, hesitant to ask something.
"Aap kuchh puchhna chahte hain, Arnav Babu?" asked Hari Prakash, he had sensed it. Arnav looked up and smiled keeping the tiny cup of tea aside.
"Umm...haan Hari Kaka, woh..." he stuttered, not knowing how to begin with asking.
"Woh RajKumari Khushi hain" Hari Prakash had replied, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"RajKumari Khushi?" he quirked his eye brow. Now the RajKumari of Haveli is keeping a watch on him. Woah!
"Haan Aditya Babu ki Choti or Laddli behna hain wo" replied Hari Prakash, a hint of pride in his voice. He had been working in the Mahal since quite long. He doesn't even remember! But loved Rajkumar and Rajkumari just like his own kids.
"Or Kuchh, Arnav Babu?" asked Hari Prakash seeing him lost again!
"Shukriya Hari Kaka" he replied politely and Hari Prakash left.
"RajKumari Khushi" he muttered with a lop-sided smile. Yes he remembers Aditya telling him stories about his dearest chhoti but never he thought his chhoti would be this much chhoti.
"Interesting"
"And beautiful" he had added with a smile.
And now he was just more restless than before. He concluded!

Their third encounter was beautiful. Fortunately or say unfortunately, he had lost his way in that huge Haveli and now he was roaming around clueless to get his way back to his room.
Inwardly muttering curses and wondering that how everyone lived here, he walked aimlessly in the broad corridor sometimes glancing at the antique picture frames which seemed of the ancient kings and emperors.
That's when he had heard some feminine giggles from a far away room. Deciding that he would take help from whoever inside there he reached there and knocked at the door impatiently. But it seemed a laughter challenge was going on inside as all he could hear were giggles and snickers.
Lifting his perfectly shaped eyebrow, he opened the heavy door with great force. His eyes went wide when he entered inside to came in view of so many women who were running around giggling away until he stepped inside and they all stopped.
He swallowed seeing so many piercing gazes, realizing his grave mistake of coming here. He was about to leave when he heard a melodic voice. He stilled where he was and came in his sight; RajKumari Khushi. A blindfold on her eyes as she very carefully made her way towards him calling someone's name and giggling. It had to be her. Her eyes though weren't visible but he just knew it. She held an aura around herself.
Now when she was herself making a way towards him, he was no fool to disappear. He wasn't rude as her. He was actually enjoying it seeing her so steadily and slowly approaching him, her hands stretched and swimming gently in air. The girls hidden behind the dividers widened their eyes seeing RajKumari making her way towards the handsome lad. What was she doing?...
"Pakad liya humne aap ko" he heard her and looked down when she grasped his wrist. Pure joy reflected on her face as she grinned showing her prefect white teeth. Her cheeks puffed up.
But then, she frowned.
She started examining his manly biceps and then her hand lifted and touched his cheeks, her nimble finger grazing his light stubble. And Arnav Singh Raizada felt butterflies in his stomach. A different sensation awakening his desires. What was happening? Haven't he just had his dinner?
He stared at her as her mouth fell open realizing that of course it wasn't any of her girlfriends.
She quickly removed the blindfold and her eyes went wide finding that same Firangi Babu in her room. Afraid of the future consequences, she tried to back away but she stumbled and Firangi Babu spread his arms before she could break her leg.
Her dainty hands clutched the collars of his shirt while his rough fingers sent a tingling sensation through her spines as they caressed her bare waist as they came around to hold her safe. He was busy staring at her until he heard some hushed voices.
Something like Yeh to wahi firangi Babu hai'. Firangi Babu? eh...seriously.
Seeing him distracted, she shoved him back quickly as everyone giggled at them. She veiled her beautiful face and hid behind the divider. He looked around at the laughing faces and then scratched the back of his neck embarrassingly. He tilted his body back to leave but not before glancing at the RajKumari once who was gazing at him with her bewitching eyes peeking at him through the small gaps of divider. Her eyes now holding some different emotions. Gone was the arrogance!
Oh! He was so badly in love with her eyes!

Arnav had been exploring the Haveli to gather some information which would help him in his project when he saw the RajKumari standing in the Verandah and staring outside. Smiling to himself, he made her way towards her slowly.
Khushi flinched slightly and looked sideways with her piercing gaze to find Firangi Babu leaning his back against the wall; a small balcony. Khushi looked away totally ignoring him royally to which Arnav had to raise his eyebrows. She was quite something and definitely not what Aditya used to describe her. His chhoti. Chhoti? Obviously not!
"Khamaghani RajKumari" spoke Arnav.
Khushi looked at him and nodded before staring outside again. He followed her gaze and found her looking at Hari Prakash who was climbing up the huge tree to pluck the raw mangoes.
"Aren't they quite sour" he grimaced.
Khushi narrowed her eyes at him. "Firangi kahi ke" She looked away twisting her lips and muttered Khushi shaking her head.
"Kuchh kaha aap ne RajKumari?" asked Arnav with a small smile waiting for an answer. He had quite good hearing system.
"Firangi Babu" spoke Khushi bluntly making him half-smile.
"To aap ne rakha hai ye naam hamara?" he asked and she nodded.
"Kya hum RaKumari se iski wajah jaan sakte hain?" he asked staring at her.
"RajKumari aapke sawal ka jawab dena zaroori nahin samajhti" Khushi said with a smirk and folded her arms looking straight at him.
"Waise uss raat aap hume chup chup ke kyun taak kyun rahi thi?" he asked folding his arms too mimicking her.
She turned red and embarrassed. She remembers peeking at him that night but she was just curious okay right? Her Bhai Sa was all praises for him in front her and that had made her little envious. She wasn't used to his brother praising anyone beside her and so she just wanted to do some investigation.
"Woh...hum jaanna bss itna jaanna chahtey the ke kahin Mahal main koi chor toh nahi" she replied not meeting his gaze afraid of getting caught and he smiled.
"Toh hum aap ko chor lagte hain?" he asked with amusement.
Khushi turned her head towards him and gazed at him from head to toe. She gave a small smile and stood closer to him, her long flowing lehenga a breadth away from his black shining shoes.
Hari Prakash stared at them from the distance, his eyes going wide. Looking at them, he stretched his hand to pluck a mango, when he slipped and fell down.
"Lagte to nahi" her voice turned raspy.
"Par uss raat aap zaroor chor dikh rahi thi RajKumari" he said leaning forward and she narrowed her eyes at him angrily.
He smiled and stared at her from top to bottom.
Ravishing..!
She was indeed a RajKumari. Her attire was perfect. The heavy Ghagra, the heavy accessories, the waist chain and the head chain resting on her hair partition. The arrogance and attitude in her attracted him to a great extent. But beside that, her innocence was what outstanding!

Arnav was walking beside Aditya when he stopped and shook his head disapprovingly.
"Why don't you continue? I'll be back. I missed a paper" spoke Arnav in his British accent.
"Fine" muttered Aditya with a smile and left.
Arnav walked back towards his room when his eyes caught the sight of the most mesmerizing yet dangerous for his own sanity thing ever. Do the princesses here in Jaipur take a bath in this manner? His eyes almost popped out when he saw the maids slowly undressed RajKumari Khushi.
He averted his eyes as soon as they fell on her bare legs. That was indeed a torture. He walked back and stood near the room divider.
It was perfect. Not clearly, but he could see the RajKumari making her way in the pool. The rose petals swimming in the water now caressing her milky skin.
That was heaven.
He groaned. This was not good, not at all for him. He rushed from there trying to brush away all those sinful thoughts, he even didn't bother to take the missing paper back.

Today everyone had been called to the court for a formal meeting with the Emperor; Baba Sa of Aditya. Aditya was beside him, they all were attentive to what the Emperor was speaking but Arnav's eyes roamed in the huge court trying to locate someone restlessly.
A partition was made in the court for the women. Arnav's searching eyes met RajKumari Khushi's with her butterfly girlfriends who just arrived there, veiling her beautiful face yet again.
But surprisingly she made her towards the end where he was seated and whispered something in her Bhai Sa's ear who smiled and patted her head. And he noticed how differently she behaved with him; nervously, obediently and lovingly. Khushi stood up glanced at Arnav making her look utterly seductive before making her way back towards the area where all the ladies were gathered.
Their eyes met again and as they sat opposite to each other. The season of spring had arrived!

The days and nights passed and unknown to everyone, the two souls were getting closer, reducing all the gaps in each and every slowly.
It was late at Night and RajKumari Khushi was still awake. She sat before the Lord Vishnu's Idol, in her room smiling to herself as she thought about her and Firangi Babu's encounters.
Every encounter was beautiful. At first she had been curious, then restless, then relieved. He wasn't as she had considered him. He was chivalrous and polite and sometimes cute and mischievous too! and not to forget utterly handsome. Perfect eyebrows, aquiline nose, and sinful full lips. A blush marred her cheeks. What was with the butterflies in her stomach and that Firangi Babu? Were they somehow related? That was too confusing her!
She closed her eyes and folded her hands in order to pray peacefully. She did that every night being an ardent believer of Lord Vishnu.
Arnav couldn't help but make his way towards RajKumari's room. The sound of his footsteps making a rhythm in the silent corridor. He had been roaming around the Haveli for hours. Absolutely sleepless and his stupid mind captured by one and only; the RajKumari.
To his much surprise and ecstasy, the door was slightly ajar. He had imagined himself staring at the beautiful and sleeping RajKumari and then go to him room for the much not so needed sleep but to say his sheer luck, she wasn't. Smiling to himself, he stepped inside getting to see a dreading scene.
The RajKumari seemed oblivious to the fire which was slowly catching her heavy Ghagra.
Rushing inside quickly, he picked up a clay pot of water and splashed it down on the lit diya and her Ghagra. Khushi's eyes snapped open and she turned back hurriedly to find her Ghagra wet.
"Aap kya aise hi be parwah rehti hain RajKumari?" asked Arnav angrily marching towards her.
Khushi looked at him confusedly who gestured her to look down. Her eyes went wide to see her burnt and torn Ghagra and she realized what could have happened if Firangi Babu hadn't come to her on time.
Her heart swelled with respect for him all the more.
"Kuchh ho jata app ko toh?" She could see the anger in his eyes and possessiveness. So he cares for her It shone in his eyes.
"Jawab dijiyien" He came dangerously close.
She kept staring at him, not replying to his so many question, he asked. Arnav groaned seeing the lack of response. He picked her up in his arms and made his way towards her bed while she stared at him, adoring him and a smile played on her lips.
Something was happening with her and she was happy. She felt heavenly in the presence of Firangi Babu.
Damn! The butterflies were back! They are definitely connected.

RajKumari was in her room and the maids were helping her in taking out her heavy ornaments, she looked at herself in the mirror appreciatively. She wasn't that bad.
It had been a week since that Firangi Babu comes to meet her in her room every night secretly. They talked and came closer. There was something magnetic between them. Something very different, unusual and very beautiful. As she ordered the maids to leave her alone and close the door, she got up and smiled at herself.
That's when Arnav Singh Raizada made his way in RajKumari's room. Her lips curved up in a smile as she stared at him from the mirror who now stood right behind her.
His mere presence was sending goosebumps on her skin but she tried best to not react and composed herself. He sighed and absorbed her naked beauty. She no more veiled herself from him. She moved her long satin hair aside and turned to face him.
He smirked and caught hold of her wrist gently but pulling her towards him brutally. She smiled and inhaled a deep breathe when his rough fingers came in contact with her bare waist, playing with the waist chain which dipped in her belly button.
"You look more beautiful like..." he whispered in his husky tone.
She shivered and he sensed it as his forefinger traced the bare column of her neck.
"Like what?" she asked gulping. He smiled and pulled his finger back.
"How about you have a dance with me RajKumari?" he asked huskily in his British accent and knelt down before her, holding out a hand. She looked down and nodded with a glint of mischief in her that didn't go unnoticed by Arnav. his
She placed her hand in his and he stood up, wounding the same arms around his neck. He pulled her even closer circling her waist with his arms swaying according to the rhythm of their hammering hearts.
"Bhai Sa ne agar hum ko aise dikh liya to jaante hain kya hoga?" she asked with a lopsided smile.
"Kuchh bhi to nahi. Aap ke Bhai Sa hamare dost hain" he replied with fake innocence.
"Kuchh bhi nahin? Wo aap se zyaada hum ko chahte hain. Hum unki RajKumari jo thehre" she replied back proving a point to him that she was the dearest to his brother, more than him.
"Unh hmm...RajKumari to aap hamari bhi hain" he replied in a flirtatious tone.
Khushi raised her brows and gave a small shy smile before leaning forward and placing her head against his broad shoulders. She sighed and closed her eyes, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. A sense of peace engulfed her. Their hearts beating in perfect sync.
"Ek baat puchhey hum aapse RajKumari?" asked Arnav.
"Ijazat hai" Khushi replied with her enchanting smile, her eyes still closed.
"Yeh aap humein Firangi Baby kyun bulaati hain?" he asked. He was curious.
Khushi snickered inaudibly and opened her eyes, leaning back.
"Is liye kyun ke aap wahaan se aaye hain. Aur firangi hain. Lagta hai yeh firangi jald Hindustan par qabza kar lenge" muttered Khushi twitching her lips a little disapprovingly.
"Achha aise to aap bhi Firangi huyi, aap bhi to wahaan se parhi hain" replied Arnav.
"Padhne or udhar rehne main kaafi fark hai Firangi Babu or hum thodi na angrezo jaise hain" replied Khushi.
"You're so unfair" He replied scrunching his face.
"To aap kya chahte hain?" Whispered Khushi leaning closer, her gaze dropping to his lips and then back to him.
"Yahi ke..." his gaze turned intense as he spoke and tucked her hair strands behind her ear. Khushi trembled and closed her eyes for a fleeting moment savoring the sensation.
"Aap humain, hamare naam se bulaayien" Arnav straightened and composed himself, not letting the control slip from his finger but still held Khushi safe in the circle of his arms.
"Arnav" he said in his throaty voice and leaned his head down. Their noses almost brushed!
"Laad Governor" Khushi said and pushed him back giggling.
"Whaa...Laad Governor?" he made an incredulous face to which she shrugged and ran away twirling.
