You say that the awkwardness of JJ hug is due to the problem of RT's short stature...I strongly disagree here. We have all seen a Salman Khan hug a Sushmita Sen, or a Shahrukh Khan hug a Deepika Padukone without this awkwardness. The height difference is easily manageable with heeled footwear.

To me, it's very clear that the JJ romantic scenes look platonic because of PS's discomfort about the same. She has been quite vocal about it, too. She has categorically mentioned the use of a BD for the SR shots too, which according to me, didn't really need one. I am not commenting on whether this is right or wrong, because that would be unfair to PS, coz it's ultimately her prerogative what she wishes to do & what she wishes to not do. Maybe this was decided in the beginning b/w PS & EK, maybe it wasn't. If it wasn't, EK is a shrewd business woman, & obviously is happy with the high TRPs the show is generating. So, it doesn't make sense for her to tilt her apple cart. 😆

But the fact of the matter is that this awkwardness is not going down well with certain viewers, like yours truly 😃. It's just that the scenes don't look authentic enough to me, & hence it becomes difficult to connect at times. But obviously, it's working for most people.

After a one year wait, I'll just say, that I'm mighty disappointed with the JJ romantic track. And I don't see it getting any better in the future.

in my view chemistry is not at all dependent on hugs or close scenes only

recently i watched zindagi gulzaar hai

there were no close scene there

but the leads rocked in their chemistry

the way in which they look at each other had sparks

sorry to bring another show here but was just trying to give example
