"The Way our Horizons meet"
----------------------
"Randhir Singh Shekhawat" Vardhaan called out .
He entered with swollen eyes , ruffled hair, an untucked-blood stained shirt .
"The instructions regarding the practicals are on this paper , also each student is assigned the experiment to his or her capability . So you have a pretty tough job out there , Randhir"
He lifelessly took the papers handed out by Vardhaan , and went to the assigned table .
Looked at the set of equipments, "Randhir , my eight year old engineer" he remembered his mother saying . The tears started to appear on his face.
"Mental Harrasment , That Vile Woman Has Tortured Us Randhir" he remembered his dad saying.
It kept reverberating in his head. 13th June . The Hearing .
"Aaahhh" he threw the equipments off his table , due to the unbearable pain .
"I'm sorry sir , I can't"
"You're letting your problems get the better of you , Randhir"
"Not today sir , please just not today" he spoke in a whisper.
He walked away . Numbed by the internal pain .
----------------------------
"Sanyukta Agarwal" Vardhaan Called out.
She entered just as lifeless if not more. The sparkle in her eyes mercilessly suppressed .
"Sanyukta, Sameer ne kal engagementke liye kaha hai" Her mom said over the phone .
"Kuch sapnon ka tooth jaana accha hota hai, Sanyu beta" she'd hung up on the last few words.
"Sanyukta , it is really important for you to get exceptional marks in my practicals , since you weren't able to give PKC's" Vardhaan said as-a-matter-of-factly.
"Here you go" he handed the papers.
"I can't , Iss Sab Ka Ab Kya Maaina Hai , Jab Sapna Hi Nahi Rahega?" She sunk to her knees , crying .
"You're a fighter Sanyukta , come on , you can't give up now"
"I'm tired Sir, How much can I fight ? How can I fight the whole society? How can I fight my family?"
"Don't be.." He was interrupted by Sanyukta.
"No Sir, Just not today" she managed to say amidst sobs and walked away.
"Destinies entwined" Vardhaan said to himself.
-----------------------------
She ran to the old workshop. And started throwing things around in frustration , pain , defeat.
Randhir got up due to the noise. There they saw each other , mirroring the pains , the defeat , their pent up allegations against the society , the people .
They didn't need words, they knew what they were going through. He took her in his embrace.
"Tum Sahi kehte the Randhir, Koi Kisika nahi hota"
"Hmm" he held her onto her more tightly.
"Everyone's so bloody fake" she buried her face in his shoulders.
"Pata Hai , Dar Lagta hai Mujhe , Bohot Zyaada Dar , Mein nahi jeena chahta apne past mein... Nahi jeena chahta" he said the agony palpable from the tone of his voice.
"Mein Engineer banna chahti hoon , nahi karna mujhe uss Sameer se engagement"
"Mujhe nahi dena Kisi ke liye statement . Koi yeh kyun nahi samajhta ke mein bhi toothta hoon .. Even I have emotions ..that I'm human"
"Hmm" they didn't let go of each other.
Each holding onto the last bits of hope inside them.
They were there for each other in their demented ways. Two wayward souls finding solace in each other's broken selves. In their small infinity.
