WHO IS SHE?

The two of them stayed like that for a long time. The girl cried her heart out. Soon she was able to look up. Her gorgeous face was covered was covered with marks of tears. She looked at Rey. His eyes were green. But they were yellow! She was totally confused but then she dropped the thought saying, "My vision is blurry!"

Rey takes the meaning superficially and doesn't understand its internal meaning. He takes out his handkerchief and offers it to her. She wiped her face with it. She was really awed by its scent. She gave it back and tried to stand. Rey helped her up. They both stood and started walking down the road. As the girl was able to walk on her own, Rey asked the question he wanted to ask since a long time. He had been controlling himself, but couldn't any more.

"What happened to you?" Rey asked.

"What?" The girl was in thoughts so she didn't catch the question. Rey asked again.

"What happened to you that you wanted to...die?" he completed after a momentary pause. He had to muster great courage to come to the end of the sentence.

"Well it's quite a long and boring story!" the girl replied.

"And we have lots of time!" Rey said with a mocking smile.

"Well... It was my 18^th birthday. We were having a party at my new house. All my friends and family were there. We were enjoying ourselves. My family left me and my friends in the house to have a late night party. "But 12 is the limit," they had warned me. We were partying hard."

Rey was listening to all this with great interest.

After a short pause, she continued, "But as you know, happy times end faster than the sad ones. Soon it was 12 and my friends had to leave. They took my car. I went inside and slept.

In the morning when I woke up, I simply flicked on the TV. I randomly surfed through the channels and stopped at one news channel that was covering a car accident. I turned on the volume and went to get some food. While I was fumbling with the pans I heard my car number. I went to the television to confirm what I heard. It was really my car number. The news said that the car had hit a truck at around 12:15 the previous night and... that..." she stammered, "that..." she couldn't complete the sentence.

Rey saw this and tried to urge her. He knew that she needed to tell this to someone to lighten her heart. But he also knew that he had a selfish motive as well and that he wanted to know more about her.

"That..." he said.

"That... (she sobs) there were no survivors."

She was down to tears again. Rey didn't had te strength to see his ladylove cry.

"It's okay!" he mumbled.

The girl nodded her head and continued.

"There's more to it. After I heard the news I went kind of numb. I just dialed up my family members for support. But to my dismay no one picked. I didn't had the strength to be alone and ended up going to our house.

When I reached there, the front door was wide open. I entered and called to anyone and everyone but no voice came answering back. There was the sad voice of blankness and nothing else. I went to check the rooms.

What I saw there was something I couldn't take in. A gulp had formed in my throat as a pool of my family's blood covered the floor," the girl completed and then again broke down to tears.

That was enough for Rey. He cupped her face and stared into her eyes. With all his concentration he sent a calming wave towards her. The girl felt the wave at once and involuntarily controlled her overwhelmed feelings. When she finally stared into his eyes...

The girl was taken out of her trance when Rey stopped a truck, with his bare hands, from crushing them. The truck was downhill and Rey just simply stopped it with his hands. The girl was shocked to see this. When Rey turned to face her, he knew she really needed an explanation. The setting sun gave Rey a way out of this situation. He took the chance and turned her towards the setting sun. He pointed it to her with great joy and excitement. The girl didn't want to look at the sun. She just stared deep into Rey's eyes to make him understand and stop. His eyes... she was suddenly reminded of her previous train of thoughts.

"Your eyes are purple!" she notified.

"Shit..." Rey exclaimed to himself out of her earshot.

"And previously they were green." She said remembering her blurred vision.

She was thoroughly confused. Rey knew this wasn't that easy to do away with.

"I know. It changes colour from dawn to dusk. It's some sort of eye disease." he replied with the safer truth.

"Interesting!!!" the girl replied admiringly. "It turns yellow, then green and then purple!" she said theorizing.

"Well its changes from red to violet. Like the VIBGYOR you see. And then it finally changes to silver at dusk and remains like that till dawn."

"Oh... Wow!" she was completely impressed.

Rey couldn't answer her more on this topic. He had figured that the girl was too observant but very easily disoriented.

"The girl?" he asked himself realizing he didn't know her name.

"Are you going to tell me your name?" he said with a mocking smile.

The girl was in her dreamland and didn't hear what he said. "You said something?" she asked.

"Yes I did. I asked if I will ever know your name!" Rey said becoming impatient.

The girl smiled realizing her mistake. "Taani!" she replied.
