It was a dark rainy night of 8th feb 2014..
A girl was sitting alone on her bed with an old diary in her hand.it was a fancy pink girl diary with a barbie on the top. Her name written in glitter "Astha Kirlosker" on the first page.
The girl seemed to be in her her early 20's.This diary had messages and wishes for her from her teachers and friends from her high school..but that wasn't why that diary was important to her..It was just because of ONE page..she was continuously gazing on the opened page of her diary.A page that was very dear to her heart.A page that she could keep gazing for eternity..She was lost in seeing the letters on that diary.
It was a wish.A wish from HIM only for HER.
The diary read "Wishing you all the best for your future :)
Shlok Agnihotri"
A sad smile was spread on her face
His wish was just like him..Agrogant,rude and unfriendly as it seemed to a stranger.But Astha knew better.Shlok Agnihotri didnot used words for expression.
Astha:I wonder shlok are you still like that? Like you were 4 years ago..
Astha remembered how shlok was
She was in his class since class 1.Though they were no good friends but still there was something in him that attracted her.He was her first crush or love or attraction what ever you name it.they were in the same class for 11 years but still they were never friends.
Astha didnt knew why she fell for him.Maybe initially was his naughty nature..yes shlok agnihotri had always been a trouble maker yet he was a very good student.That was the reason why he was the apple of teachers eye.he was naughty yet he respected teachers.
Later maybe it was how he treated girls.Astha loved how shlok had always been away from girls..Although she was also one of the girls who wished to befriend him but she never approached him..All the girls in high school took this as his ignorance and attitude but she knew better..He wasnt ignorant.He didnt liked mingling or talking to girls.he was never easy talking to girls.But still he was never disrespectful against the other sex.All that mattered to shlok was his studies his buddies which were numerous, parties and Video games.
Astha didnt even realized since when had she understood him soo well.May be it was years of her observing him.

Initially it started with fight..They both were position holder initially and would compete for the first position.Astha remembered how when he would win he would say in a pround tone "Shlok Agnohotri does not loses ever" But then in higher grades Shlok's interest moved from studied to video games.he had a craze for video games..by then they had come on terms..she would always allow him to cheat from her in the exams and he would merely say a "Thank you"at the end and she would love to see her Thank you and that slight smile on his face.
She loved to help him in his studies..she lend him her notes and her homework so that he could copy.Deep down she knew that he only talked to her to take notes and was taking advantage of her but still she felt happiness everytime she helped him.
She knew that he is not attracted to her.. And he knows nothing much about her except her name and few minor details and he doesnt even care. She knew that she could never win him or make him HER's but that was not the point right? He goal was not Possession she just wanted to see him.to see him happy.she just liked to watch him.Watch him playing basketball.Smiling over his comments on teachers.His jokes with teachers in the class.She never let shlok know about her feelings.she never approached him unnecessarily.Her conversation used to be to the point with shlok.
Astha looked at the diary page again and smelled it.it had the smell of his perfume.
She remembered how he himself had sprayed his perfume over that page.
It was one month before there finals.It was the day of the carnival.
Every class had set there own stalls.there were multiple stalls of foods,games,roses,love messages,bangle and chocolates.
All the students were dressed traditional dresses which was the dress code for the evening..shlok was wearing a black Shalwar kameez with very light black sequence work on the collar."decent as always"thought Astha seeing him.
All the students had brought markers ,old uniforms and diaries with them.to take wishes from each other.to have some memories which they can cherish for there lives .Everybody was busy celebrating and writing on each others diaries and uniforms
Astha had her pink diary with her and shlok had his old uniform.
Astha's best friend gori pulled her towards shlok who was writing everyones diary.Akash pulled goris diary from her hand and said
"Hmm lemme see what you have got..ooohhh a wish from Sir Rahul wow..he is your crush right? akash teased gori and gori shouted"Akashhh give my diary back you idiot." akash started runing and gori chased him leaving her alone with Shlok
Shlok was leaning on the table of their stall.the carnival had not started yet.shlok looked towards her and extended his hand giving his slight signature smile
"May I?"
Astha smiled blushing ,something she didnt had control over while talking to him, and extended her diary to him
He took his time reading what other people have written for her and then opened a fresh page.
His this gesture was quite suprizing for Astha.When he had asked for her diary astha was not surprized because he was always a gentleman she took this a formal gesture but then reading her diary like he owned it was something she didnt understant.
While flipping through her diary he momentarily stoped on a page there was a hint of anger in his eyes but after a moment his mask was back again.
He opened a new page and with a red marker wrote ""Wishing you all the best for your future :)
Shlok Agnihotri" he was about to close the book when he remembered something and opened his bag and took out a bottle from it and sprayed it on the page near its end..
Astha:Shlok what --
Shlok:Shlok Agnihotris wish should be special and different too" he replied
And then someone called him to rehearse for his performance and he left.
After a while gori came with her diary in her hand.."i will kill that Akash uske paet main koi bat nahi rehti"(i will kill that Akash...he cant keep his mouth Shut)
Astha laughed over goris condition..Gori left her diary with astha and went to get drinks for her.Astha opened her diary and was scanning through the wishes she had gotten and she came across shloks wish..it was exactly same as hers and Astha was not suprized he was always like that Formal and bussiness like writing same wishes for every one but then she noticed that goris wish did not had a smiley face and hers did.. She was confused and happy on this..can this be a hint.? No Astha pagal mat ban wo shlok hai shlok Akru kharoos aik xtra smile sa kuch farq nahi parta.(no Astha dont be a fool..this doesnot mean Anything..he is shlok the arrogant person this means nothing).she waved it of but yet she was not satisfied.
After some time carnival was in full swing
Astha was enjoying with gori having pani puri when she saw shlok coming towards her way he had a packet of bangles in his hand he was coming towards her.Astha looked around to see if there was somebody nearby but there was no one.gori had left to the other stall suddenly Nk came from back.
(NK aka nandkishore was her friend and was a very happy go lucky person)
NK:So Astha having water puris they are amazing na?
Astha laughed at him and said"its called pani puris NK "
"Yeah yeah same thing" said Nk embarrassed
Astha turned towards shlok as by then he had reached her but this time his soft eyes were spitting fire and anger at her
he extended his hand which had red bangles in front of her astha looked towards him
He at the same time moved a step ahead and then crossed her
"Swatii i bought these red bangles for you i hope you like it"
Astha heard shlok say that a little loudly..hearing him talk to swati in such a soft tone broke her heart..she excused herself from NK and ran from there
She went to the ladies room and tears made way from her eyes she couldn't control it anymore.
"Its all my mistake.why did i thought that he was comimg to me.he could never be mine and i know this but then why does it hurt so much.why does it hurt so much thinking of him with someone else..I will not think about him now i will try to forget him..he does not matter Astha just focus now " after washing her face she went back to her class and stayed away from him for the rest of the month and got busy preparing for her exams.
And now 4 years had passed.and she was a Engineering Final year student.a much more mature person.but as they say a Lady never forgets her first love and for Astha Shlok was her first and last love.
she didnt talked to shlok after that till the last day of school.
It was their last practical..after coming out of the room all the students started hooting and celebrating the day.Astha was smiling and leaving the hall way when she saw shlok talking to his friends.the thought of seeing him last time crossed her mind but she waved it off thinking that they would be in the same University most probably.This vacation would only be for 2 months like always.
Just as she was about to pass,shlok held her hand.
Astha was shocked to say the least.
Shlok with a slight smile on his face said:Thank you for today like always and for every other time.
And he left her hand,at that moment astha looked into his honey brown eyes..they had a very diff emotion in them.she could not understand what it was.sadness,helplessness or hope she couldnt point out..he started walking backwards not breaking the eye contact.it was like he was trying to convey something..something but she didnt knew what..
At that moment she heard her best friends voice and it was like she was back to reality..he turned his back towards her and walked out of the hallway.
And now after 4 years she knew what he meant..it was the last time she was seeing him and he knew that..he left india 1 month later with his family.She came to know it from his best friend akash who was also her friend on the first day of her uni.Akash was with them since class one too..he mention shlok leaving for America
and that was it.
And Now she missed him.She missed helping him in tests.she missed seeing him every day.she missed his smiles.his Every gesture.but she knew she cant reach him
But Maybe there was a chance
Yess he was coming back After 4 years back to india back to Delhi.
"Coming back to my first love..Delhii" was his fb status..2 days ago and sice then astha was not able to take her mind off it..this chapter is 4 year old Astha he wont even remember you.. But still there is hope May be he does.
God please please make it possible.Just once i promise.I dont even want to talk to him i just want to see him once please..door sa hi but please make it possible
Having this thought she slept unknown to whats comimg in her way...
