Great Post Dolly_heart.
Exactly my point. It wasn't a majboori at all, he cornered himself with his need to please and his guilt so that helpless/lachaarmajboori was the only option left. It became his default choice. He turned it into a majboori.
As you say, he dropped his responsibility as the adult and the parent in the situation. He reacted to Adi's reactions and didn't act in the best interests of his son.
You made a very critical point with "What will Adi take away from this ... That I can make my father dance to my tunes and get him to do anything I want."
He just taught Adi how he wants to be treated
@Metamorphmagus - Exactly, his desparation - he was willing to take crumbs and crumbs he got.

u said it so right first he has to acknowledge his own importance, then Adi will, he has to make Adi realize that he is the good father, but first he has to proof it to himself that yea he indeed is a good father by making his daughter happy!

Thanks mrym_rauf.
First he has to discover the good father in him for himself, then he will be happy because he will take actions decisions that are in the interests of his children; he will be a good father in his own eyes, act accordingly and he will naturally make his children and earn the respect of Adi and Ruhi.

Yes cyndu, that was hard to swallow, instead of thanking Divyanka for stopping his son from starting an addiction, he indirectly reprimanded her for it and in a way gave Adi permission to do so.

I would say he has a majboori but he made the wrong choice in his majboori...
His majboori is his unfaltering "need" and "want" to be called papa by a kid who is already so brainwashed against him that he is utterly lost to him and unless that child wants to see reality he is not going to because Raman succumbs to his demands. Adi is a pawn in Ashok and Shagun's game..he is a child so manipulated and brainwashed easily whereas Raman is majboor because of circumstances creating the situation but he had a choice to set Adi straight and reside himself to not seeing his son and keep hoping that Adi would eventually see the truth!
He needs to focus only on the people who are in his life because they choose to be not chase after the unattainable!!

Great point, and I loved the quote of removing oneself from the equation. That is the wisdom that needs to grace buddhu raman's mind right now.

Another thing of note is that although Raman accused Ishu of making her into an excuse to barge in the holi event, Raman is the one who really used the child as a pawn to make Ishita apologise to the brat, Adi. Thankfully little Ruhi staged a silent satyagraha, and taught Raman that it can never be a majboori to deploy the sentiments of one child for gaining the love of another.

what majboori does raman have? in addition to the many things that he is raman is now confused as well. as a father he has the responsibility to correct adi . adi was trying to eat bhang and ashok and shagun did not notice it. ishita did and tried to stop adi. I mean they can use this point to get custody of adi. the custody does not depend on adi's wishes alone. in a public place the kid was unsupervised and he tried to eat an intoxicating food and his custodian was nowhere to be seen. he raman if he was as smart as he says he could have used this to fight for adi's custody. but no he makes ishita apologise to adi to get him to call him papa. adi changed his surname did n't he now what will raman do to make him change it back? make ishita do something else? who is ishita to him? what right does he have to make her do things that hurt her self esteem and insult her in public? does she not have the same right as well?

Thank You luvsagar
Exactly, - he didn't make choice. He succumbed to his guilt and neediness. He had a scary but empowering choice to set Adi straight but, as you say, chose to chase after the unattainable - well said.
