There is difference between love and lust, sexual attraction and emotional attachment. A 19-20 year old girl is simply not capable of differentiating between them as she is currently at a highly emotional age. Her heart rules over her brain.
Though the same cannot be said for Abhay who is shown to be a mature 38 year old. When he fell in love it should have been on the basis of strong feelings and emotional attachments which cannot just disappear in thin air after learning the girl's parentage. Even if he started hating her after finding out about her parents, his love should not have allowed him to torture her. (goons and wiping the blood scene).
And this change is not sudden. Even at the beginning of season 2 he said that he wanted to find JM so that he could take revenge from her. Which 38 year old talks like that? At such a mature age, he is not able to understand that the child is innocent? He was shown incapable of sensible thinking and psychologically affected even then.
RK also had done several grave mistakes. But then he did realise them and ask for forgiveness duly. And the major point in his favour was that he was MB's husband. Traditional Indian culture and audience mindset gives a lot of leeway for this fact which RK and CVs exploited.
In this case even when AK realises his mistake and comes asking for forgiveness, he would have no chance as he has already committed the fatal mistake of getting the girl married to another. Believe me even if the Groom is retarded, audience would never appreciate MB dumping him. The TRPs would come, if she cures him with her love and care.
