The short, intense but meaningful Ashlok scene today was very needed, among the nok jhok and comedy they were trying to inject into the couple, which was good in itself, but this is the real Shlok and Astha talking, totally in their characters.Loved it. And there was lot of meaning in the dialogues and lighting and expressions they held.They had the connection , and the sense that they are related in intangible ways, that no matter what their feelings are, the connection is there.
Shlok starts with" Hamara Relationship. ". Not hamari shaadi, or hamari nafrat or revenge or love or hate...just..our relationship. That was a very apt thing for Shlok to say, because his love and hate and wedding and marriage and revenge , trust and nok jhok, all are part if this relationship for him.
Anything, to keep Astha with him and safe. That is what he has done all through. She calls his spresent form as Kaali Parchayi. Black shadow. But what is a shadow? Something that does not leave you, ever.
Shadow is one thing that is always with you. And when are shadows not black? Shadows are always black because they are formed out of lack of light. And at the same time, there is a play of light on Shlok 's and Astha's faces. Shadow..of each other is always there. Is Astha not Shlok's kaala saaya? .
But she makes a distinction between "kaala saaya" and "har mushkil ke dhoope se bachane wale chaon" which in her opinion he was for her before, and he is not now. What is parchayee? That is also a shadow and mirror image. So, whether saving her or not saving her, she is admitting he has been with her constant companion since she met him.
Ajji's mention of Shlok as bodyguard to Astha , at one point in time, comes into picture here. Your shadow can be you, or your bodyguard. No one else.
Shlok and Astha are each others protectors. Bodyguards. They will need each other. Shlok to protect Astha from some, Astha to protect Shlok from some.
Shlok's expressions when she reminds him that he was her savior at one point constantly protecting her. He is still mindlessly happy at her mention of him in such a positive way.. he has that spark..before it fades away .because that is what he wants to be for her, and he still is, only he is not able to tell her that. And she does not know, that he is still is that "har mushkil ke dhoope se bachane wale chaon"..his distance and revenge track with her are for that purpose. His open demonstration of love for her will become a mushkil for her, so he is hiding that to save her from the mushkil.
Then she says now you are just a black shadow...and he has this REALLY...is that all you can see? look in his eyes for a second..there is guilt and sadness before he replaces is with taunting look.From what I saw, he is still trying to be her savior. He does not trust Aditi and he does not want Astha to be friendly with her and divulge anything of the relationship between Shlok Astha. Also, he is also afraid what all Astha can get to know from Aditi, that Astha is not ready to know as yet. Already Aditi has muttered that she was in Pune for a year to study..then how come she did not visit Agnihotris.??
What is Shlok saving Astha from by becoming her black shadow? Is yet to be seen.
But I will lay my bets on Niranjan, because Mr NA seemed to be the person who is in cahoots with Aditi. He was pretty sure Aditi should stay with them. This man, who does not tell his own daughter that Jyoti should come and stay with them for a few days, he is going all out for his friend and daughter. His behavior was as usual pretty Narssistic. Apno se gussa and bullying...parayo se pyar and respect.
dekho to sahi meri Sati savitri sacrificing patni ko
This is what we all in the forum were calling Astha and taunting her and pleading to the CVS that she should not be the sati savitri sacrificial woman they show in other serials..Shlok says that to Astha because he wants her to stop thinking for others, for what others would feel or how to salvage some one else's dreams. She needs to think for herself and her self protection. Whatever webs are around her , she needs to notice that and defend herself.

He is giving a backhanded compliment that she is doing many great things on all the issues she is dealing with ..he also says how can you SHOW such mental greatness..magnanimity..badaappan.
Stop fooling me...tum jaisi jhooti ladkiyan kabhi badal nahi sakti...
He is saying that because though she is not admitting it, she still loves him...and she is lying when she says he is only black shadow for her..he is much more to her..thats why the pain in her voice...and he tells her to stop fooling him. He knows...what the relationship means to her.
Astha always takes the route of lies to do a good thing..like this time she lied to Aditi and painted a colorful picture of her marriage to Shlok. And he is saying she need to stop lying and carrying the burden for others. Also, this nice love marraige picture Astha has painted may backfire on her because Aditi might take her revenge from AStha instead of Shlok.
Why did he bother to talk to her in the first place...Astha meets many people at work, home or any place she goes. She can divulge the truth of her marriage to anyone anywhere. So why is he bothered right now? Notice during that scene he is not bothered of Aditi's questions or expressions..he is bothered about Astha's. Astha who is signs of moving on , who seems to have left behind her pain and is now focusing on getting these 6 months done...Astha who is not crying anymore and is able to engage in a almost daily normal conversation with him in their room, now she is being reminded again of her love and the cruelty and reality of her marriage, while talking to Aditi. Does Shlok not feel guilty? HE DOES...he is hating it when she has to talk about it...he wants her to lie at that point and give a simple answer and end it there. Instead madam talks and walks thru the whole how she fell in love drama.
When she comes out, she needs a moment to hold herself together. She puts her burden on the table...and stands there...collecting herself..of all the memories, and pain and where her life is right now. He come there...to make her focus on her anger toward him..and not toward despair of her marriage. He taunts her to distract her from her sadness , which is definitely visiting her after her talk about how she got married to Shlok.
By the end when Shlok walks away...she is back to her state of anger with him..she is out of self pity . Because if she is not angry..she will not fight for herself. That is always Astha..fighting for others, protecting others..but not herself.
She did not even get he "SHARE" comment from Aditi...Aditi is not here to just share her saree..she wants Shlok and she wants to share Astha's position in the house...and who knows she might want to share the 50% shares of the company that Astha has.
