Vinayak who was snooping around Varad's room in the night catches him trying to grab a smoke. He tells him how happy he is about what Varad did for Aastha and Shlok. He is glad that just like him Varad also thinks that Aastha is the only "ray of hope". He advises him to not ignore his own personal happiness for his brother's happiness and tells him to spend some time with Sojal and Kavya. They used mirror images in this scene too. Varad sees Vinayak's reflection on the door pane when he was about to smoke and he quickly hides the cigarettes. What could it mean? Vinayak's image was shown through Varad's glasses at times. Does it mean that Varad doesn't really see what the other person is saying when they use this symbolism. A few days back when Sojal confronted Varad after the party, Sojal's image was shown through Varad's glasses.
Inquisitive Kavya wants to know what Valentine's day is. Sojal, who was miffed with Varad's earlier cold behavior, tells her to ask her smart Dad instead. Loved how Kavya's face lighted up when she saw Varad enter the room. Their interaction was so cute and real. Varad explains to her about the significance of the day and tells her that people celebrate with their loved ones on this day. Kavya wants to celebrate the valentine's day because she loves her mom and dad so much. Sojal's hopes come alive again. Since Varad doesn't say no to Kavya, he finds another person to say that for him, Anjali. Anjali tells Sojal to cook a nice meal for everyone at home itself instead of going out. Also advises her to do some pujas and vrats instead of celebrating V-days. Sahib doesn't like to see anyone happy.
Kalindi and Avdhoot argue about Aastha. Both want the same thing, Aastha's happiness. But both have different ideas of what happiness is. Kalindi who has undergone domestic violence and suppression before, fears that Aastha will be changed slowly in these six months to fit the Agnihotri regressive ways. Avdhoot on the other hand feels that there is genuine love between Shlok and Aastha and he wants to give that love a chance to bring happiness back into their lives. Kalindi says that she is Aastha's mother and she is more concerned than anyone else about her daughter's happiness.(?!) She complains that Avdhoot and Ajju are not able to understand her point of view. Avdhoot gives that strange expression again.
Aastha, who got used to heartbreaks by now, recovered from it soon. She is worried about Shlok and his pain more actually. She lies on the sofa (not on the kitchen floor) and thinks about drunk Shlok's comments on love. She becomes more and more restless by the minute worrying about his well-being.
Shlok is drunk-driving and thinking about Swathi's rejection. So Swathi married someone else because of something selfish that Shlok did? She even curses him that he will never find love again and will never be able to find happiness in his life. What kind of a person is Swathi? Because of whatever she did, Shlok thinks that all woman are liars and manipulators.
Shlok reaches home safely, without killing himself or someone else. He is so drunk that he barely makes it out of the car but falls right there soaking in the rain. Aastha and Anjali watch him trying to get up but failing to do so. Aastha hopes that Anjali, being his mother, will help him into the house. Anjali walks away. Aastha who doesn't usually talk back to her sasubai, questions her about her cold behavior towards her son. Anjali tells her that a mother's responsibilty of taking care of her kids ends once they grow up to be adults. She adds that Shlok is married now and he is the responsibility of his wifey. Mrs. Anjali Niranjan Agnihotri is as manipulative as her husband, in a good way.
Aastha miraculously manages to get Shlokie into his bedroom without falling under him or over him. She feels that if he sleeps in those wet clothes he will get sick. So she decides to change him into some thing dry. HUMANITY. Nothing else. While taking off his shirt, she presses her lips on his neck, ACCIDENTALLY. We didn't get to see her take off his pants but we can assume that. Aastha changes into dry clothes herself and she finds Shlok mumbling in his sleep. He tells someone to go away from him. She decides to make some decoction for him.
Aastha, Anajli face-off again in the kitchen. Aastha tells Anjali that she feels very bad whenever Shlok calls her Mrs.Agnihotri instead of Aayi. She quotes Niranjan saying that elders should always forgive the mistakes of their kids. She tells her that inspite of their weak relationship she still could not resist helping Shlok, but as a mother Anjali did not. She asks her if there is so much bitterness in their relationship that she is unable to feel her own son's pain. Anjali asks her why she is so worried about Shlok and why she couldn't resist helping him, when she thinks their bond is weak. Aastha hides behind "humanity" and "temporary". Anjali too sees the "ray of hope".
Precap: Aastha reads Shlok's memoirs of his loverboy days. Now that she has seen everything she needs to (pun intended)😉, she is not going anywhere until she gets to the end of the matter.
Loved today's episode. There's not a dull moment in the narration for me. Everything that happened today, fits the story and characterizations. If yesterday was all about Shlok, today is all about Aastha for me. Her love for Shlok happens to be her weakness as well as her strength. She fights anything/anyone for Shlok. Loved Shrenu's subtle portrayal today. Geetanjali makes her presence felt anyway. She doesn't even need dialogues. Avinash doesn't have many dialogues today but still loved him to bits in the drunk scenes. Loved Varad-Kavya-Sojal scene and also Avdhoot-Kalindi scene.
