Inspired soul, that is one exquisite write up for La on the first page. Kudos. You should make a hard bound thesis with all these write ups. In fact all you guys should!
La is one character, which had a great potential to turn into a vamp but she bid adieu most elegantly. Loved all the convo you and ipoona had about her. Absolutely agree with ipoona how pitiful is that hemlines dictating how girls are totally judged/ showcased a certain way. Agree with you too that naniji would have accepted her even otherwise. And agree would have been wonderful if La left in the cloths she came in.. But then since our show is all about symbolism.. May be just another way to show that she is a transformed woman now. And our show always has that edge over all the shows I ever laid my eyes upon that there is NO scheming woman.. And that is a biggest thing on Indian TV. La is the one who had the potential t turn into one, bit the way departed only raised the bar of our show several notches up! Again, that is one brilliant write up very happy that you are here.
And ipoona, welcome to the club of viragos ( from the last thread) !

Horizon, thank you for liking it! I was of two minds before posting it. But really wanted to do it.
You are right about the show having no scheming woman. That is THE reason why I got hooked on to it, and was able to stay with it. Even though I fall hook, line and sinker for good romance, and this show had great romance with beautiful leads and brilliant acting, I would have still switched off and run miles at the first hint of saas-bahu/vamp drama! Those types are the reason I don't watch Indian TV or any tv soaps! Other than this show, books are what I prefer. So I am glad we have this show, because of which I got to meet friends and kindred souls like Ipoona and you!😊

It is true that there was not a single modernly dressed woman in AR office who was nice to khushi, the only nice person shown was again manjuji!
Agree with u on that.
Even i wanted La to leave from RM looking confident, and dressed in her normal style, but with a changed attitude towards herself, others and life!

Well, i think we both have officially gone crazy! Thank god we are into only one show, and IPK has spoiled us for anything else on indian tv! 😃

Inspired ... Mafi ? Uh ... Uh ... Kan pakad kay ...
Seriously ... Mafi kis baat ki ? We are all here to have some fun ... You know the drill ... So please no need to apologize ... Yes Manjuji ... Nice woman ... There were some other Desi vamp like women too ... Remember Mamiji's friend ... Ratna ? Lord are there really people like that ? I really am itching to do a post on the extras ... Hate the word ... Passing characters in IPK ... But just can't find the time ...

Some day ... Happy Sunday ... Bahut bahut thand hai .. And kindred soul ... How about that three Virgos ... Or as Horizon mis typed three Viragos ... LOL works for me either way ...

Ipoona, no my dear, it's not exactly dar but a hesitation not to spoil the party if anyone happens to like that scene like some comments about star gazing (not here) didn't really sit well with me as for me that is one of the top most beautiful sequence.

Those curls of Khushi, I found them ghastly when I saw them on sbs and of screen pics those days, but wanted to wait for the actual scenes to play out since unfortunately all most all scenes of her in That attire turned out to be most forgettable, that pool side line taking the top honors, yes that was a horrible hairdo! Agree with you he was preoccupied as he is totally guilty at that time and some thing terribly off with her. That pool side, kya baloon ab, I thought I would talk about it when u guys post the actual epi, anyway, Khushi's character slipped at a tremendous rate with that line, never really looked back again for me except for brief for that spectacular romantic fortnight! You are absolutely right, what wa she thinking, from no angle there was justification for that line, it was super tragic that the writers couldn't find a better
Line/ way for her to convey to him that her engagement is broken, which is the actual purpose of that while convo. here when those two came out quite mature in that break up and she is still busy in Interfering. He is right when he said during that Farq padtha hai " pehle apne engagement tho sambhalo". Sorry again for rather scathing remarks, I was quite unhappy how writers dealt with her post Shyam revelation, I remember writing"character assassination in progress" that dec.

Anyway, will stop cribbing now as we have a great ride ahead.

Morning Virago ... 😆 Please read my comments to Inspired ... I share a very valuable quality with La ... The ability to see only what I want to ... Works really well for me ... Not so much for other folks in my life ... 😛

Anyway, the way I am going to deal with the pool side and the next late night bedroom scene ( Anjaliji such mein asi hai ... .) She should be dreaming of our man or mulling over the sod ? If I were her, I would be shookar manoing that my Jiji is getting married ... I am free of this horrid man ... My man is free to pursue me ... And would be setting a timetable for how many chances I give the snake to shape up before I make Buaji go to Nani to reveal the whole truth.

Reverting back to original thought ...how I am going to deal with these scenes ? So here's my strategy ... Ignore ... Looks though it with my nose firmly tipped skyward ... You are absolutely right about the start of character assassination ...

Inspired ... Bold ... Agree with you a hundred percent ... When I was talking about the clothes ... I was referring to the makers of the show ... The visuals ... The girls in ASR office ... Each one ruder than the other ... I was talking in generalities ... The tendency to tie morals to hemlines ... La was, like you pointed out, indeed shown wearing short dresses well into her stay at RM ... I was commenting on my personal peeve ... For me it just perpetuates the myth further ... Other than La, every short skirted woman that floated in, was either a blatant stoical climber, an annoying diva, a desperate wanna be ... La transformed ... Was probably happy trying out a different wardrobe ... I wish they had the courage to show La walking out in Western clothes when she finally leaves ... But completely agree ... Visuals are important and that May have been read, unfortunately, as reverting to the old ways ... But with rest of the scene treated the same way ... Her goodbye scene ... I personally think, would have set our show apart some more ... But I should talk ... This is the only show I have seen ... Maybe they are doing that ... May be I am just full of it ... Right ?😛

Inspired soul, I have a beef here, why is it that in indian shows, girls who wear indian clothes are lovely and those that wear western are the baddies? Yes La did wear very short skirts as a diva she was the baddy, as she became more human, did she have to go all all desi like khushi? Could we have seen her inmore decent western clothes and be good at the same time?. I think that even arnav would have wanted to see khushi in more western clothes, frankly compared to what khushi wore on her engagement revealed more than Las short dresses. It would have been nice to have seen khushi {or La} in jeans and a long top. Wake up star, wearing western clothes doest make you a baddy.

Hello, addicted!
We had a roaring discussion in page 5 on the same topic - between Ipoona and me😊
La did wear western while in RM, and Khushi wore western during the beauty competition track towards the end of show. I partly agree with you, but I also never saw any other Indian TV show till date. So I am not really the person to judge the channel here.
Do read our previous posts when you have some time, and we are glad to have you join us in the thread! Welcome to the reliving thread, hope we will keep seeing you! 😊

Thanks inspired soul, I appreciate the comment. Im writing this on my tablet, so me being me and tapping away with one finger jumps in with my two pennies before I have read the full thread. SORRY.

Im loving the dc forum opened my eyes go see the nuances of the scripts, the directors and these two great actors. Proof of which youll see as bs goes off to do his filmy stuff and they both end up doing intimate scenes with standins.

Hey, don't apologize! I am probably repeating so many other peoples thoughts in my posts now, as I am new too, and still catching up! None of us could ever read everything in this forum. Do contribute!
