All credit to Rohit. He made Alexander come alive in such a way that people are emotionally connected to his character, whether or not they already knew the legendary figure. It's no mean feat to achieve that with such limited screen time. 👏

One more thing that a lot of people don't notice is the fact that since the beginning of the show, it has been physically taxing on him because of the amount of action sequences he's had to do. Even if he didn't appear in every episode, those war scenes took ages to shoot just for a 5-10 minute scene. He was doing all that in 40 C+ temperatures, getting burnt and scarred, but his performance levels did not drop a single bit. The pre-battle face-off with Darius has to be one of the best dialogue deliveries that captures the essence of Alexander as the greatest military commander ever. 👏

I know SidT chose Rohit for this role right from the beginning without an audition even and kept trying to convince him to take up this project despite Rohit refusing twice, but I wonder if even SidT knew how well it would turn out and how much recognition Rohit would get. 😉

I guess SidT had gauged how much he resembles the real figure and that is why he kept on convincing him! I am sure he hadn't expected this level of performance from him or this level of impact with such limited screen time! ⭐ïļ And who the hell compared him to as important as Shivdutt ðŸ˜Ą

Rahulkrishna24. I sent him a thorough, if polite rebuttal, focussing on how the makers were presenting Alexander on par with Porus, the antagonist to his protagonist.

A marvellous set of comments.

And it is NOT just a question of the makeup artists being good. It is, above all, a question of Rohit's facial bone structure matching those of Alexander the Great, and his being extremely good-looking. So was Alexander, judging from the innumerable busts and statues of him.

I am delighted that Rohit is well on his way to becoming THE face of Alexander the Great at the international level. For those who are tremendous admirers of the historical Alexander - having swallowed the bitter pill of the abysmal casting of Colin Farrell; WHAT was Oliver Stone thinking of? ðŸ˜Ą (no one active in the social media today would know anything of the 1956 Richard Burton version)- Rohit playing their hero must be manna from heaven!

He never responded to my rebuttal, so it must have been convincing!

When I am a bit better, and have got rid of a wracking cough that is turning me inside out, I will see if I can dig it out for you.
