I play a strong, realistic, independent woman in Porus: Suhani Dhanki
Suhani Dhanki enjoys performing her stunts in Porus
Suhani Dhanki is back to entertain masses with lan and grandiose. Yes, the actress is playing a pirate land princess Laachi in upcoming Sony TV extravaganza Porus.
She feels that mytho-historical genre has played a big role in the regeneration of the Indian mindset which was plagued by the saas-bahu syndrome for a long time.
"Let's face it...TV does influence our thinking. I am glad that the show will rekindle the pride in our culture and values and make us think positive again. We also need to ponder on what we have lost and why, shares Suhani with IndianWikiMedia.
This dainty looking girl has no problems with the stunts her character requires to perform. "I guess the power comes from within. I had to run bare feet on stone, also enact lots of underwater sequences. Here, I wish to add that I was petrified of water, now I love the same. I guess the hard training which we are undergoing is really paying off. I also have been a very determined girl who really rises up when challenges are thrown at me.
Quite confident, we must say!!!
She continues: "I play a very strong. realistic, independent woman who fights with her childhood mate Porus, stands by him and also pulls his leg. Laachi is totally unconventional and challenge oriented, says Suhani, a lawyer by qualification.
Talking about her acting career, she shares that she began with a cameo in Siddharth Tewari's Mahabharat (maker of Porus) playing the role of Madhuri. "Then I did a negative role in Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which had Porus lead Laksh Lalwani also in the show. There is perception that colored eyes girls fit the negative genre. This was followed by a stint in Piya Albela.
Suhani, who is also a trained dancer, hopes that she would get a chance to shake a leg on the show.
"One of the reasons for saying yes to his project was that its huge graph would allow me effectively project myself.
She really loves her glamourous look, "It is so comfortable and also being women you always want to look beautiful.
Looking ahead she would be open to all kind of challenging roles, " Be it in TV, films or web.
However she would put her foot down to bold stuff (love making scenes) "I don't think I would be comfortable doing that.
We wish her success in Porus.
