Here's a kutty update from yesterday's episode - Jan 4.

Kaushik's cousin and wife (the two clowns from the village) are sitting in the living and talking about the Kaushik's wealth and how they are now owners. The husband(can't remember the name but I know it is Pollachi Babu) asks his wife to make pal payasum for him and she leaves to the kitchen. Meanwhile Pollachi Babu sees Janani's ghost telling him she knows that he had kidnapped Vijay and this caused Giri to kill her. she gives him pal payasum saying that it is as he wanted and laughs. she says she will not leave him alone. (This scene is so funny and Pollachi Babu's acting is really good. Makes you laugh). His wife comes with the payasum and Babu refuses it and tells Janani to leave him alone. His wife is confused and tells him not to be afraid.

Deepak's attai is reading ramayana at the dining. Sneha enters, looking tired. Attai goes to her and asks her where she has been. Shena says she went to see her friends. Her FIL comes and tells her not to go out as she is pregnant and could be hazardous to her health but Sneha says she is out with her friends looking for Durga. While they are talking, Kalidas enters. He brings with him a parcel containing a chapal which he says belonged to Durga and that it was found near a hill top, but durga's body was not found.
Attai also says the chapal belongs to durga after looking at it. Sneha asks how this can be possible because there are many who owns this kind of chapal (logic!). Kalidas goes on saying that it is Durga's because he knows (flashback time people!)

Durga walking down a street alone, opposite Kalidas on bike (They show this back and forth for at least 3 minutes). Seeing Durga, Kalidas stops and asks where she is going. durga scolds and insults him and walks away. After taking a few steps she stumbles on a rock and her chapal is broken. Seeing this, Kalidas tells durga to follow him and buys her anew pair of chapal and that is why he knows the chapal found is durgas.
Shena pretends to be worried and asks if Durga is in danger and says she has to help. Kalidas tells them not to worry and that he will be back with good news soon.

Two new characters are shown - a rich man and his DIL. DIL looks like Sandiya from surya. Both FIL and DIL are talking in the frontyard about some problems with paati. DIL tells FIL not to worry everything will be alright. FIL says she is not his DIL but more like a daughter. While they are talking, Durga and her caretaker walks in. Durga is introduced as Devi. Apparently, Durga was saved by this rich man and is put in the other man's care. The rich man says that he cannot go to the police or publicise her photo in the media for fear of danger to her live. Until Devi regains her memory, she can stay there. He also asks Devi(Durga) to visit his DIL so that she can have someone to talk to and they can go to temple together. He also tells his DIL to be friends to Devi. They FIL, his friend and Devi leave. THODARUM.

Thats all folks - as far as I can remember.

and they showed this rich man some days back.
he was the guy who killed that inspector who married off that girl staying in kalidas's house, isn't he?
also, the other day he comes home on his birthday and dil does aarthi for him, son (he plays anjalis mama paiyan in anjali) ask him to eat good food, but rich man says as a penance he has been eating only koozh for the past 20 years or so (maybe when he lost durga as a young kid?) as punishment and dil brings him koozh and he drinks it and asks his assistant (played by cheena of lakshmi - vakkil raghunathans Jr) to eat the good food. meanwhile his mom, shown with unmade hair and a sinister look yells at him and curses him, he goes with her food, she refuses and curses him some more, he asks for blessings on his b'day, she says she will never offer any and it is Gandhimathi of cine fame.

Jan 11 Update:

Aparna and her SIL talking. SIL tells Aparna that Ranjan killed Madhan and is keeping Jananni in his custody. She hears Rajan returning and tells Aparna to leave from there as it is dangerous if Ranjan finds out. she then closes the window and pretends to be sleeping. Ranjan enters and wakes her up. Rajan tells his wife that when all the sothu comes to them, they can live a wealthy and happy life provided she keeps quiet about the murder. She reuses and Ranjan, locks her up again and leaves. Meantime, Aparna hides in the trunk of Ranjan's car.

Ranjan goes to his godown where Janani is kept captive. Janani wants to know when he will let her go. To this Ranjan says he will let her go only when Aparna comes to him and goes on saying that his mother had willed all their property under Aparna's name and he wants Aparna to sign over the property to him. Only then he will release Janani. Janani says Kalidas will never let Aparna return to Ranjan and he will definitely arrest Ranjan. While they are talking, Aparna arrives.

Aparna tells Ranjan she wants to speak with Janani and unties her. Aparna tells Jananni to leave from that place. Ranjan laughs and says that no one leaves until he gets what he wants. Aparna tells him to let Janani go and when Janani is safely away and tells her so, she will sign the property over to Ranjan. Ranjan agrees and tells his goondas to take Janani to safety - he quietly tells them to kill Janani.

At the richman's(I think his name is sethupathy - not sure)bungalow. Devi(Durga) is sitting in the garden thinking. This is seen by the DIL and she askes what Devi's problem is. Devi relates the incident with the grandma. DIL laughs and tells her not to worry because she was also afraid of the grandma when she first came to the Bungalow. They hear richman calling his DIL. DIL tells Devi to bring the koolu and serve her FIL. Devi leaves the Koolu and hids behind the cabinet. FIL drinks the koolu and says it different and tasty. DIL tells him she did not make it but Devi did. He calls Devi and thanks her and tells her she can stay in his house for as long as she wants. He also tells her he is looking for her relatives and hopes to find them soon.

Sorry for the long winded update. I think I got everthing, if there's something missing, please feel free to fill in.

Jan 12(Fri) Update:

Jananni escapes Ranjan's goondas and goes to Police Station where Kalidas is on duty. Kalidas is happy to see her. Janani relates everything to him and tells him that Aparna is now in Ranjan's custody. she also tells him Ranjan's whereabouts. Kalidas inform Alfonso and they get ready to arrest Ranjan.

At the hospital the entire family is assembled at the Jeeva's FIL(forgot his name)bedside. Rukku tells him how Jeeva acted fast and donated blood to him and saved his life. FIL thanks Jeeva and says that she is not his DIL but his daughter. Jeeva says it is her duty and would do the same for anyone in the family, and no need to thank her and make her an outsider. Everyone is beaming with pride at Jeeva except for one person (guess who)Sujatha of course.

Rajasekar is travelling with his driver and is taking a short cut somewhere when his car stops due to some engine problem. After checking the engine, his driver says that they need a mechanic to look at it. Rajasekar asks him to stop the next car and ask for assistance. Along comes Ethiraj and he is stopped by driver who asks for a ride to the nearest garage. Ethiraj sees Rajasekar and asks the driver who he is and is informed that his boss is a well known business and they got car trouble on the way to a meeting. Ethiraj gets down and introduces himself to Rajasekar and invites him to his house and wait there until his car is repaired. Rajasekars follows Ethirajto his house. Here Devi(Durga) is in the kitchen preparing lunch. Ethiraj calls his DIL and tells her to ask Devi to bring drinks. While both Ethiraj and Rajasekar are talking Devi brings the drinks and stands behind Rajasekar............FREEZE!

Jan 17 (Wed):

Scene continues with Devi(Durga) bringing coffee and goes behind the sofa where Rajasekar is sitting. when asked to serve, the DIL gives the coffee to Rajasekar and Devi leaves. Rajasekhar did not see Devi.

After coffee, Ethiraj shows Rajasekar his house, Rajasekar is impresed. Driver arrives and Rajasekhar says goodbye. He leaves behind his cell phone. Ethiraj walks Rajasekhar to his car and Rajasekar invites Ethiraj to his home when he comes to Chennai. Devi comes to the living to collect the coffee cups and sees the phone. She takes the phone and runs after them calling. Rajasekar and Ethiraj turns to see who is is, and another male servant bring and hands the phone to Rajasekar. Rajasekar leaves. Devi is shown
trying to get something of her feet and she is in pain. The servant askes what happened and Devi tells him that when she came running she hit her leg on a stone and hurt herself, that's why she gave the phone to him.

Ranjan is outraged at his goondas for letting Janani escape and takes out on them. He then brings some papers for Aparna to sign. Aparna refuses and he forces her. Aparna tears the papers to pieces. Ranjan gets angry and slaps her and she faints. He tries to get Aparna up but hears the police siren and escapes with his goondas. the police arrive and get aparna. Ranjan once again escapes.

Sujata's parents come to visit their sambanthi at home. Sujatha's father asks about his health. Everyone talks greatly about Jeeva and how without Jeeva he would not be alive and so on. Sujatha's parents take leave. When they are outside, sujatha aks her parents if they saw how they treat her and Jeeva. Sujatha's mother says that is because Jeeva is loving to everyone and respects them. To this Sujatha's father says that Sujatha need not be like her because his daughter is not an anathai like Jeeva and tells Jeeva for the time when she can go thani kudithanam.

In ethiraj's house - It is late at night, a lady clad in bright yellow sari with a huge pottu on her forehead is sitting on the floor in the middle of the living with eyes closed. Devi comes there after completing all her house work and is shocked to see the lady and asks who she is. To this the lady says she has come from far away and that she is hungry and tells Devi to bring some food. Devi says there is no food in the house right now. The lady tells her that her boss, the DIL and even patti will leave some food for her before they eat, and Devi should go and bring the Koolu. Devi wants to call her boss but the lady stops her and asks her to bring the fod first. Devi obeys and bring the koolu pane and the lady drinks koolu out of it and says the koolu tastes different. Devi says she made it. The lady then asks her who she is and Devi says she herself doesn't know who she is and thinks she is anathai. The lady says no one is anathai because we are God's children. she goes on telling that the person who made the koolu should be presented with gold bangles and that Devi will soon get it and tells her that she has every right in the house as the other and not to leave this house at any circumstance or cost because she has some kadamai. she then asks for some water. Devi gets water and returns but the lady is gone, Devi looks around calling her amma, amma - Guess what? Devi wakes up and this is all a dream.

Next day, Devi is seen cleaning the pooja room. She gets a shock when she sees a lady's photo with malai around it - the lady in her dream? She runs out frightened and calls for the boss and DIl. DIL comes out and asks what happened now and Devi asks who photo is in the pooja room. She is informed that it is her MIL's photo and why she wan't to know. Devi says this is the first time she has seen this photo and relates her dream. this is heard by everyone in the house including Ethiraj and Patti and all are shocked especially Ethiraj...........THODARUM.

Jan 18 (Thu)

Continuation from yesterday. Devi narrates her dream to DIL and every one is shocked. Devi then says that she does not know what it means. Ethiraj comes running and tells her if his wife told her that she in one in the family then so be it and tells Devi not to go anywhere. Should Devi need anything at all he wil do it for her and leaves. All this is heard by Patti, who thinks that Devi is pulling a fast one just to stay int he house and says she will deal with Devi when she comes to see her later (all this to herself).

Rukku and Jeeva are praying in the urugan temple. Jeeva helps Rukku to fulfill her vow - to do angaprathesam. After completing the vow and prayers, both sit at the temple and talk (very mundane). Jeeva compliments Rukku on her commitment and love for her inlaw's family and Rukku says that she loves the family so much because they too love her unconditionally. After more of these conversation they leave for home.

At Ethiraj's front yard, his farm employees are gathered. These employees are asked to gather because Ethiraj wants to give them new clothes and money for Pongal celebration! Ethiraj comes and announces that apart from theusual new cloths, he s giving them cash for Pongal celebrations. He will be giving them bonus and free medical and so on............(inoru poo suthal amma kathule - amma giri what have you started?) Everyone is happy and accepts the gift.

While this is going on, a man covering his face is hiding and watching this goings on. When the last person has accepted the gift and leaves, Ethiraj receives a call from his son in the factory. After conversing with his son, Ethiraj begins to walk away after instructing his manager to send gift to those who could not come personally. The gift to reach their home in time for the celebrations.

Ethiraj sees this person and tells him to collect the gift before he leaves. The man calls Ethiraj's nam and says, "Looks like you are living very happy and distributing your wealth. You are cheating this people by giving them a little of what you have taken from other by murdering and snatching other peoples wealth and happiness."

Ethiraj is shocked to hear this and asks who he is and the man says, "I am one who knows your true self." Ethirarj moves closer to look at him and..............THODARUM

Jan 19th (Fri)

It turns out that the man threatening Ethiraj used to be one of his men, in his shady dealings in the past. The man pushed Ethiraj to the gound and flees.

Kalidas asks Aparna and Sneha's mum (forgot her name) to take his son to the doctors because he has to go to the police station and start proceedings to release Giri. Sneha's mom gets angry andtells Kalidas notto release Giri as he is not a good person. Kalidas says no matter what, he is Janani's husband and as she is not pressing charges, he has to be released. Moreover, it's up to Janani to decide, andhe leaves telling aparna to be careful as, Ranjan has gone into hiding and may turn up anywhere anytime and try and harm her.

In Nirmal's house. Rukku calls all of the children to discuss about February 14th - the parent's wedding day (Sujatha is not with them at this point). She wants it to be celebrated in a grand manner. Everyone agrees to have a feast in the house. Jeeva wants everyone to go to the temple to do special prayers. Rukku says it will only be family members and no outsiders should attend. Suddenly Sujatha appears and asks what the meeting is all about and Rukku explains about the plan for the celebrations. Sujatha says they should have celebrate the function at a 5 star hotel. Everyone looks at sujatha and says why, when it can be celebrated at home. Rukku says that is a great idea and that the expenses should be shared equally by the two brothers and they agree. Sujatha cuts in and says no need to share just give what you can and I will take care of the rest. She also asks is her parents can attend. Rukku says of course as they are also family members.

Sujatha goes to her parents house and narrates the entire story to her parents and tells them that they should show who they are to both Rukku and Jeeva by going to the most expansive hotel and to give the most expensive gift for her in laws. This would surely embarrass Jeeva and Rukku. Sujatha's mother says that this only shows their arrogance and snobishness and not true love and care. Sujatha's father tells her to be quiet and that he knows what he is doing.

Rajasekar arrives home with his wife Durga. (Durga is dressed in a beautiful blue patty saree - she looks really beautiful here). He calls for his akka, sneha and the rest of them. Attai comes out and is shocked to see Durga and runs and hugs her and asks questions about where she has been all this time and cries her heart out. Sneha comes there and she is also shocked. She comes and falls on Durga's feet and apologies for what ever mistake she has done and ask for forgiveness. She pleads silently to Durga. durga just looks at her expressionless.

Both Rajasekar and attai keep asking who has done this to her and force her to tell. Durga points her finger at Sneha and says She is the one and FREEZE.

I think this is one of Sneha's dreams and nothing else. We will know for sure on Monday.

Jan 22 (Mon)

You are right Serial - It was Sneha's dream.

Ethiraj's daughters come home for a short holiday. They are introduced to Devi.

At Rajasekar's house - Attai comes calling for Sneha as it is late morning and Sneha is not up yet. She sees Sneha on the bed shivering with cold and has high fever. She calls for her brother to get ready and take Sneha to the doctors. While they are getting ready, the phone rings. Rajasekhar answers and it is Deepak. They exchage greetings and Rajasekar says everyone is fine except Sneha and they are getting ready to take her to the doctors. Attai speaks to him and says the same. Attai wants Deepak to speak to Sneha and hands the phone to her. Sneha answers and it is not Deepak on the line but Divakar. He tells her that he changed his voice because Rajasekar answered the phone. He wants his money and tells her she better not be faking her illness. Hearing this, Sneha faints.

At Nirmal's house, Rukku is praying with Nirmal's parents. It is their wedding anniversary and she gets blessing from them. Rukku takes then to the living where a cake is cut. Everyone gets their gifts ready. Sujata gives her gifts saying it is a special pattu for her MIL, saree from Kanchipuram and an outfit for her FIL. Sujatha's parents give him two tickets to Singapore and another gift. It is Nirmal's turn and Nirmal looks worried. He calls Jeeva and tells her he did not buy any gift for his parents. Jeeva tells him not to worry and brings two jewellery boxes containing rings and hands to her husband. She tells him that she would not let her husband be embarrased no matter what. Nirmal takes the rings and give his parents. Everyone is happy except Sujatha. She is looking at everyone clapping their hands. she looks at Jeeva's hands and sees her wearing plastic bangles. She calls Jeeva ans asks her, why is she wearing only plastic bangles and where is her gold bangle and thodarum.....................

Jan 23 (Tue)

Scene continues from Mon. Sujatha asks what happened to Jeeva's gold bangles. Everyone looks as Jeeva. Sujatha goes on to ask if she sold her bangles to buy the rings for their inlaws. Nirmal looks at Jeeva and Jeeva nods. Sujatha's father tells his daughter not to ask such things infront of everyone. He joins his daughter and subtly insults Jeeva. He then asks everyone to get ready to go to the 5 star hotel for lunch. Every one follows quietly.

At Kaushik's house, Janani is standing alone in the backyard oblivious to her surroundings. In the house, Kaushik's relatives (can't remember the names) are still plotting to get his wealth. Kalidas comes with Giri and asks for Janani. Janani comes in and Kaushik tells Janani to forgive Giri and move forward with their lives, and leaves.

At Nirmal's house, Jeeva is doing some housework. Rukku comes and asks her to get ready. Jeeva wants to know where they are going. Rukku tells her that she wants to take Jeeva to the jewellers to buy her new gold bangles as Jeeva has sold her bangles. Jeeva refuses. Rukku then tries to give her own bangles to Jeeva until they can buy new ones. All this is watched by Sujatha. She snaps her fingers and calls both Jeeva and Rukku and tells them that how she celebrated their inlaw's anniversary in a grand manner and only she can do it because she is rich. Jeeva's gold rings are no where comparable to hers and her dad's gifts. She tells them to give her respect because she is the greatest as they now know what her capabilities are. Kalyani who walks in hears this and is furious.

She goes to Sujatha and tells her that she now realizes that Sujatha only gave them gifts to show them that she has money and that it is not from her heart. She goes on to tell that if Jeeva had not saved her husband, there would be no celebrations. She goes on to say that Sujatha's gifts - tickets to singapore can be used only one and the Saree may be a few times, but the ring given by Jeeva would be worn for the rest of their lives. She says that the gift from Jeeva is from the heart and that is the greatest gift of all. She also tells Sujatha that actually all of them did not want to go for the dinner but went anyway so as not to hurt Sujatha's feelings but they were not happy. She goes on to say that capability is not important but credibility is. She leave telling sujatha to change her ways. Rukku then snaps her fingers at Sujatha and tells her to understant that in this household, Credibility not Capabilities are respected, and leaves Sujatha who is more angry then ever.

An auto comes to a stop at a house. In walks ethiraj's DIL with a bag of fruits and hands it over to a lady and asks where her mother is, and walks into the living. A lady with a cane walks in, and DIL goes an hugs her. She is introduced as DIL's (I cannot remember her name- will find out for sure tonight) mother. Both mother and daughter talk. Daughter tells the mother that ethiraj is very loving towards her and see's her as an angel and a mother. He trusts her completely and that nothing moves without her in the house. Her mother is happy to hear this and tells her to continue to be in her FIL's good books until she is told to do other wise. It seems that Ethiraj had killed her husband some 20 years back and now they are out for revenge. Today is the 20th death anniversary of DIL's father. Ethiraj does not know who his DIL really is. Both mother and daughter plot to take revenge on Ethiraj. Screen freezes on DIL's angry face....................

Jan 24 (Wed)

Continues from yesterday. Both mother and daughter plot the downfall of Ethiraj. Mother asks about Ethiraj's daughters and is told that they too love her very much. Then she is asked about Devi. She says Devi is an orphan and also tells her mother about the dream incident. Mother tells her that she should keep an eye on Devi because Devi may have bene brought in by Ethiraj to take careof his family and if so, Devi is also their enemy. She says goodbye to her mother and leaves.

At Nirmal's house, Rukku is praying. After prayers she comes out to give Nirmal's dad his breakfast. He askes where everyone is and ruuku says they have all gone out. He refuses breakfast and says he needs to go see his friend. Jeeva comes in and asks if she can go visit Kalidas' baby. Rukku says no need to ask for permission, she can go and come as she wishes. she even asks her to say for a couple of days if need be to which Jeeva says not necessary and that she will be back in the evening.

Jeeva leaves. Her father in law then asks Rukku to give him breakfast and says he has cancelled his plan to visit his friend.

Jeeva goes to Kalidas' house and sees the doors locked. She asks a neighhour, who says that both sivagami and Aparna have taken the baby out and she thinks maybe out shopping. the neighbor asks Jeeva to come to her house and wait for them but Jeeva politely refuses saying she will next time she visit and goes back.

At Nirmal's house - Rukku is in her room sitting on her bed and Nirmal's father is lying doen with his head on Rukku's lap. Rukku is saying that these days they can't even talk to each other. she asks for how long will this go on. The children have grown up and are married. She goes on crying that she is unable to tell anyone about her husband when questioned. Even Sujatha talks badly about her. She is also afraid that if Kalyani and the children find out about them, it would be the end. Rukku then massages his forhead and he falls asleep, Rukku too falls asleep while massaging. While this conversation is going on Jeeva returns and finds the doors locked. She then goes in by the side staircase and opens the door and enters the house. Everything is quiet. A room door and it is empty. She comes down the staircase and stops. Thinking that Rukku might be asleep, she goes up to check. She opens the door to Rukku's room and is shocked.........THODARUM.
