Update for Wed Oct 4-2006

Part-1

I thought by today, we will know whether tulasi will know about the happy news in hospital but bhadri keeps up the suspense and also brings out a new character in the story!

Ramesh and Vidya return home from N/puram and Sharada is surprised to see them. She asks Ramesh how come the court appearance is supposed to be tomorrow and I specifically told you that Vidya can be at her parents' house for some more time and still you have brought her back so early.Vidya looks stunned and Ramesh mumbles a reply that it might be a little difficult to go straight to the court from N/puram and hence I brought her here so that she can relax tonight and go tomorrow.

Ramesh leaves immediately and goes to his room and Sharada asks the stunned Vidya why she could not tell Ramesh at least. Vidya takes some time to comprehend what her MIL is exactly telling.Finally she also tells that she wanted to come here.

She comes up and sees Ramesh who tells her normally to go to bed early so that they can go to the court next day. She asks him how he can behave like this with such a straight face. She asks why he told her that the court hearing is to be attended immediately and took her out of the house specially when her parents asked to stay. Ramesh just says he had specifically told her not to got to N/puram and so he got angry that she disobeyed him. She asks why you are not having trust in me –whether you will distrust me if I speak to my brothers,she asks.

Ramesh shouts at her that he can't change his nature and he will not change it for anybody.


Part-2

Scene in N/puram and meenakshi again talks about naming vidya's child as Natarajan. Sivagami says perhaps vidya's in laws might decide to choose the name. Now SK says if we can't name vidya's child in our way, we will try to name Revathi's child the way we want. Now Tulasi tells her mother about her time in a mental home when she had run away.There was a boy called Natarajan to whom she was giving food when other mentally affected inmates tried to attack the child. To save him she shouted his name and then another old lady on hearing Natarajan's name came to their rescue and pushed the other inmates away. Sivagamy asks who was that lady. Tulasi says she does not know who is that but that lady always kept asking for flowers to anyone.

Before they can continue (bhadri keeping these small small links in the story everywhere!) NK/shan come inside and Nk tells a story about meeting a couple and the husband got a chance to go abroad but he does not want to go since he does not to leave his wife. But the wife seeing the conditions in their in-laws house is insisting on him to go. NK says hen the husband is so much affectionate with his wife, why she can't understand the situation and act accordingly. Tulasi understands the barbed message and shouts angrily that a girl when she gets married and goes to her in-laws house has conflicting feelings many times and tries her best to do what is good for her in-lawas and should be judged in that way only. Sivagami asks why you are getting angry for such a thing. Later shan/tulasi leave and then sivagami makes a comment that the house will be seemingly empty now. But Karpagam gets a little annoyed and tells revathi that she is the only one who can't go anywhere out of this house.


Part-3

Tulasi/shan in the bus and tulasi tells shan she knew that NK was referring to her only when he told the story about that woman. She asks shan what exactly he talked with her father when they went out. Shan tells her that he did not want to talk about tulasi with NK but he could not tell him about the real thing and hence he had to tell something.He then proceeds to tell her about Ramesh's suspicions and what happened in the restaurant and Vidya's telephone call to him. Tulasi says we have one extreme hisband like Ramesh and I am very fortunate to have you as a husband and says my love towards you has increased now. (so much love that she will try to fix a new wife for him!!)

Now a new town comes and the bus comes to a halt and a woman tries to enter and the bus starts to move. The woman shouts out. Shan immediately comes to the door and gives a hand to the lady to enter.

End of the episode with a zoom of the lady. (new person in the story and she looks a familiar face but I can't remember where I have seen her before)

Shanmugam helps the girl & her patti get on to the bus. He lectures the driver to focus on his work. The driver retorts back and says that if you sit in the driver's seat then you will know what it is to be a driver. Tulsi fires back at the driver and says that her husband is also a driver & a union leader. She asks him to come to kancheepuram and ask about driver shanmugam and he will come to know( hmm, maybe this is a setup for the driver or someone in the bus to help linga in identifying shanmugam). Anyway the bus takes off

Ashok is in the jail and is reading a letter, there is a fellow inmate who tells him about how if one has the court date the following day, they usually have sleepless nights in the excitement of going out of this jail and meeting with his family and friends, but at the same time it is a bigger punishment to see the persons who were affected by us. So he understands why ashok is having a sleepless night, as he has a court date the following day. He then asks ashok as to what letter he has in hand. Ashok tells that this is a letter he has written to vidya as he has hurt her badly. Ashok says that he wants to give this letter to his anni , who in turn will give it to vidya. And he is hoping that once vidya reads this letter she will be able to forgive him. The fellow inmate asks ramesh what if the letter gets into the wrong hands, ashok says that he belives that this time there wont be any mistakes. They go to bed

Sivagamy tells NK that she feels that they are close to finding gandhimadhi amma . Then she narrates tulsi's story about meeting the paithiyakara lady who rescued tulsi in the ashram, and was always asking for flowers. She tells NK that she did not find out about the name of the ashram. NK is not happy, but she suggests that moorthy will know that name as he rescued her from that ashram. So NK goes and wakes up moorthy and asks about the ashram's name, moorthy makes up a story about the ashram name being udhavum nenjangal, and it is in puthur. So NK decides to go to puthur the following day. In the meantime moorthy is wondering what will happen if NK asks shanmugam, and he has a different story.

Tulsi and shanmugam come back home. Saras is very glad and invites them back home, she asks them about the test results. Tulsi says that they will find out about the results the following day. Tulsi asks shanmugam to bring a towel, and tulsi goes to get it and as she looks at herself in the mirror, she realizes that her thali kayir is missing. Tulsi panicks and searches for it. Saras finds out and freaks out, then tulsi calls nachiarpuram and asks them to look there, everyone is searching frantically. Sivagamy asks tulsi not to panic and they will definitely find her.thali. So finally they keep manjal kayir In the pooja room and then shanmugam ties the thali onto tulsi. As heis tying the thali Shanmugam tells tulsi, you told me that if I got married the second time, I will have a kid right, idhu than ennoda 2nd kalyanam. Tulsi looks at him(cute scene)

Scene I
Courthouse

Vidhya flares her nostrils as Ashok is led past her into the courtroom. As they cross eachother, Ashok overhears the inspector telling Vidhya to go to the public prosecutor's room downstairs to make her statement. Just then, Ashok's sis-in-law and daughter find Ashok, who asks the constable for a few mins to talk to his Anni. Ashok hands Anni a letter for Vidhya and tells her she is at the Public Prosecutor's (henceforth PP) office. Anni heads down there to find Vidhya. Meanwhile, Ramesh has returned to the courthouse and is told by the inspector where to find Vidhya.

Anni sees Vidhya standing outside the PP's office. She asks Vidhya to spare a few mins to hear her out. Vidhya spits at her that she doesn't even want to look at Anni's face and to leave her alone. Anni begs and pleads some more. Vidhya finally agrees and they go to a more private spot (??? being in the middle of the courtyard is more private than the PP's office?).

Anni tries to present Ashok's case to Vidhya, but she wants none of it...she blasts Anni for Ashok's duplicity...and rehashes the whole running away with him, finding out he was a cheat, blah blah history to her. On the other side of the dried out shrub, Ramesh is shamelessly eavesdropping. He begins to fume...each additional tidbit from Vidhya to Anni adding fuel to the fume...he is about to explode with anger.

Anni goes away dejectedly and Vidhya starts walking back toward PP's office when Ramesh calls out to her. He makes some barbed comments about whether she spoke her piece. Vidhya stares at him dumbly/blankly. Then Ramesh says...let's go....to see Ashok! Vidhya's bug eyes bug out further at this and she gulps...frogs everywhere are turning even greener with envy. Ramesh justifies it by saying he wants to see his father's murdered get what he deserves.

Ashok and Vidhya head into the courtroom...and wow...manage to get a front row seat despite the crowded room. Judge asks Ashok whether he poisoned Ramesh's father. Ashok admits to the crime. Judge says he'll render jundgement/sentencing at a later date (sorry...forgot what the date was). Courtroom clears out. Ramesh approaches his attorney and asks what he thinks Ashok's sentence will be. Lawyer says because Ashok confessed, his sentence would be about 7 years, but with good behavior and Gandhi Jayanthi, etc...he could get out in as little as 4 years. Ramesh at that points starts spewing that for such a light sentence, it would make him feel better to kill Ashok and then go to jail himself...then tells Vidhya that nowadays the punishment for lying, cheating, doing drogham, killing, etc. is so light, that people are not deterred. he again talks of killing Ashok. Vidhya and lawyer tell him to calm down. Ramesh takes Vidhya home.


Scene II
Creep's Mansion

Bhaskar is getting ready for work, while Creep Siva is lying on the cot. Bhaskar asks him why he's not getting ready for work. Siva gets irritated by Bhaskar's questions and tells him he's working 2nd shift. Bhaskar wonders how a manager of a showroom is working a shift schedule. He tells Siva not to forget that he needs to be looking for a house for all of them, including Revathy, to live in. He tells Siva to make sure that the house is big enough that NK and wife can come and visit comfortably. Siva gets angry about the bringing Revathy to Madras portion. Bhaskar asks if Siva intended to never bring Revathy to Madras at all. Creep says something about city life being so different from village life, and Revathy would not like it, etc. Bhaskar tells Siva Ravathy told him everything before they left Nachiarpuram. Siva is momentarily stunned and nervous. Bhaskar tells him Revathy wants to come and make a home with Siva soon. Siva tells him he'll start looking for a house, and Bhaskar leaves.

Creep's cell phone rings, and of course, it's Amala. Some sappy, sickening lovey-dovey again (why am I always having to recap these kinds of crappy scenes??). Amala asks for a kiss, and Siva obliges...kissing the cell phone handset...JUST as Bhaskar peeps back into the room. Bhaskar stares at Siva...Siva stares back...lowering the phone.

Highlights only, as this episode was such a waste of time

Siva comes and meets amala at her place
They both proclaim how much they love/miss one another (sagikalai, kadavule indha siva tholaiil irundhu kapathu)

Thank god, Amlu's dad arrives back home

Amlu panics and hides siva in her room, who gets into her closet

Amlu's dad visits amlu's room and inspects it as he is very suspicious

He keeps the keys of the house with him and decides to sleep downstairs

Amlu asks siva to somehow get down from the second floor balcony

Kurangu climbs down & jumps out of amlu's compound wall, just to be spotted by cops on duty

One cop chases siva, the other knocks on amlu's door to check if they had any property that was stolen

AS siva escapes, he drops his valet, which is showed to amlus' dad, who identifies siva picture, but tells the cops he does not know that person

Screen freezes on a shocked and betrayed amlu's dad's face

Update for Monday, October 16th 2006

Let me preface by saying this episode was boring, and I only half-heartedly watched (not that I am usually enthralled by any stretch of the imagination)


Scene I
Ramesh's House

I guess we left off on Friday with Ramesh being thwarted in his attempt to smother Vidhya with a pillow (succeeding in prolonging our FROG exposure). He asks to lie down on FROG's lap. As he's lying there, he has images of Vidhya allowing The other guy (what's his name??? Pandiyan's brother) to lie down in her lap. He immediately gets up and FROG's bug eyes bulge a bit as she asks what is wrong. He mumbles something about being concerned about the baby. He tells her to just go to sleep, which she does. He also collapses onto the bed and covers his own face with a pillow...I don't blame him...FROG would lead anyone to suicide.

Scene II
Shan's House

Thulasi and Saras are preparing to see the famous josiar regarding Shan's 2nd marriage. NK arrives and is welcomed in. NK asks Thulasi about the ashram she was staying in when Shan and Murthy found her. Thulasi stumbles with an explanation and finally gives the name of the ashram she did stay in. NK then asks about the results of the test Shan had mentioned. Thulasi says that the results were negative; i.e., she cannot bear children, ever. NK is shocked and tries to talk some sense to Thulasi, but as usual, she is adamant and says that Shan MUST marry again...the kuDumbam MUST have a vaaris. She tells NK there's nothing further to discuss. He leaves, and Saras asks why Thulasi had to tell all. Thulasi tells her there was no point in hiding it.


Scene III
Nachiarpuram

Revathy is standing beside the phone, giggling stupidly. Sivagami asks Revathy to go and fold the clothes which have been hung out to dry. Revathy tells her that she is waiting for CREEP's call, since he promised to call today at the same time as yesterday. Sivagami says OK...and they hear Karpagam's father yelling from outside the home. They go out to see what the ruckus is about. Sivagami invites K's father inside, but he makes some snide remarks about not being a big enough aaL to come inside. He asks if NK is around as Murthy steps out. He tells them he's there to return K's bangles. Revathy's father arrives at that time, and K's father makes some insulting remarks about NK's thottam vs. Kadhir's thottam...blah blah, basically being a jerk. Everyone leaves him on the doorstep and goes back inside.


Scene IV
CREEP's Mansion

CREEP is shaving his sorry face when Amala's father knocks on the door. Siva is stunned and asks what is going on. Amala's father begins to let him have it, when Bhaskar enters the room. CREEP hurriedly introduces his brother, who goes downstairs to buy something for Amala's father to drink. Amala's father tells CREEP that he doesn't want to talk about it when Bhaskar's around and tells CREEP to come downstairs to his car. They drive off just as Bhaskar is returning with some "cool drinks" in hand. Amala's father drives like a maniac, and CREEP is close to having an "accident" without a diaper. Finally, they come to a screeching halt at the beach, where Amala's father rips into CREEP about his clandestine meetings with Amala, despite repeated warnings. He threatens CREEP to never do it again, or he will have to face the consequences...(I tuned out during most of the dialogue...forgive me if I missed anything earth-shattering). He tells CREEP to get out of the car and leaves him standing there.

today episode
- ramesh is getting more pyschotic thinking of ashok and vidya,(keeps biting his lip and bleeding without even realising it s his imagination is running wild)

- a josiar tells saras and tulsi, that tulsi will never be able to conceive(sutha pethala irruku, yaravathu andha LINGAtha kupudungapa)

- josiar also tells that shans can get married to another girl in the next 5 or 10 days, and they need to do something in temple for this. if they pass this time period then shans can never get married(i thought a josiar sivagamy took tulsi to said that she will definitley have a child, hmm depends on who takes us to the josiar i guess)

- NK goes to the ashram where tulsi foudn gandhimathi
NK is waiting there when he finds a lady asking for poo and is all emotional

Nothing much happened today

Scene 1 Nachiarpuram

Thulsi Is asking saras and her FIL to get ready so they can go to the temple and do the offering. FIL refuses saying that he does not feel like going with them. AS thulsi is asking him why, pooja stomps in an angry mood. She tells thulsi & co that she has left her house and come here, and that her feelings for shanmugam are very real, and they need to take her seriously and get her married to shanmugam. Thulsi says that this is not how things are supposed to happen and tells pooja to get back home. Pooja refuses, saras and thulasi are trying to knock some sense into her, by that time valar comes, there and starts hitting her daughter and insulting thulsi & saras. Finally saras yells back at valar, but valar continues to insult and curse thulasi, and the ends up cursing shamugam. At this point, thulsi fires back and says that how dare she curse shanmugam, thulsi is doing all this only to see shanmugam's kid and valar has no business cursing shanmugam. Shanmugam is listening to all this drama and comes out and advises pooja to go home and focus on her studies instead of him. He is so dejected.

Scene 2 Chennai

Vidya is waiting for ramesh, & sharadha is also wondering where he is. Sundari's husband comes home and tells sharadha about the incident at the sari shop and how ramesh fired ravi and closed down the shop. Ramesh enters home and sharadha asks him about what happened at the shop. Ramesh says he cant tolerate cheats, and how he cant trust anyone and goes to his room. Vidya goes asks him what happened, ramesh is very rude, then nicely asks her get a cuppa. AS vidya leaves, ramesh goes into a flashback mode. There a girl called shyamili comes and takes him out of class, on valentines day on the pretext that the principal has called for him. She then gives him a valentine's card, and say I love you. He turns down her and tells her not to follow him any more. When he returns he shares with his friend that he turned down shyamili because everyone is after her and they would be imagining various things about her and how his wife should only be his and not in any one else's thought.

Ramesh is then back to reality and goes and stands under the shower, and imagines vidya with ashok, he then comes and sits in his bed, when vidya comes in with the coffee. She sees him and panics as he is all wet, and tries to towel him down with her sari, ramesh pushes her hand and asks for a towel and as he is toweling himself she says coffee, he takes the coffee and imagines his dad drinking the coffee

Update for Monday, october 23rd 2006

Scene I
Jail

We left off on Friday with Ramesh visiting Ashok in jail and breaking the news to him that Vidhya had told him all about their past love affair, etc. Ashok is stunned and we see lightning strike and waves roll in the background. Ashok tries to tell Ramesh that Vidhya was innocent and a good person. Ramesh cuts him off and asks if it had been a one-sided thing, why would Vidhya have run away with him. Ashok is shocked again...then reluctantly admits that while it was true that Vidhya had attempted to run away with him, Shan came and stopped them and took her back home before anything happened. Ramesh has a flashback of Shan telling Vidhya to hide everything from Ramesh and his blood boils a little hotter. He tells Ashok that he has decided that he will unite Ashok and Vidhya not only for their happiness, but for his own peace of mind. Ashok looks at him dumbly. he tries to tell Ramesh that Vidhya is good, and nothing had happened. Ramesh suddenly turns evil and says that he cannot live with Vidhya knowing about their past love. He says that everytime he touches Vidhya, he has images of the two of them touching eachother. Then he clarifies that when he said he would unite them, he meant he would unite them in heaven. He would kill them both himself. Ashok starts blabbering that Vidhya is not to blame and to please not do anything to her. Ramesh loses control and grabs Ashok's shirt and starts getting violent...screaming revenge. Finally, a couple of constables come and take Ramesh away.


Scene II
Kanchipuram

Thulasi and Saras are preparing to go to the temple as advised by josiar. They need Shan to put kumkumam on the coconut they will break at the temple. Thulasi brings Shan inside the pooja room and asks him to ittufy pottu for the coconut. He wants to know why. Shan's father comes in and tells Shan about the josiar's prediction that if they broke the coconut at the temple, Shan's marriage would be fixed in 15 days. Shan is angry and tries to reason with Thulasi, but she says that she has done whatever Shan has asked, and the doctor confirmed that she cannot have children, so now he must do this much. Shan complies but is disgusted.


Scene III
Sivan Temple

New girl (couldn't catch the name...something with a Poo, so will call her Poo from now on) and her granny are at the temple and lamenting to the priest that they have been doing vendudhaL as instructed, but nothing has panned out yet. Priest tells them to be patient. Meanwhile, Thulasi and Saras arrive. They go to the main sanniddhi and tell the priest that they have come based on a josiar's recommendation...in the background, Poo and granny are seen sitting down. Priest tells them to wait for 2 mins, when a good kalam will start...they can start the pooja at that time. He asks them to sit for a while and that he would come and get them when it was time. Thulasi and Saras turn around and see Poo and Granny. They go over to chat and tell Poo and granny about their vivit to the same josiar. Granny laments about no good news on the Poo marriage front despite that josiar's assurances. She says that at this point, they are even considering making Poo a 2nd wife....immediately Thulasi's brain works overtime. Priest comes over to them and says that the nalla neram has begun, let's do the pooja. Thulasi craftily tells Saras to talk to Granny, and she and Poo would go and do the pooja. As they are heading to the sacred tree, where several thaalis and thottils have been tied, Thulasi sees a very pregnant lady carrying a kodam...she rushes over and grabs the kodam from the lady, saying that she shouldn't be carrying things like this in her present state. She tells the priest to continue the pooja with Poo. Poo tries to protest, but Thulasi rushes off. Thulasi mimbles under her breath that she somehow wanted Poo to break the coconut herself, and it was a blessing that the pregnant lady showed up just then. Priest starts the pooja, and hands Poo the coconut to break. We see a thottil in the foreground and Thulasi watching in the background...

the goonda hired by ramesh goes to visit linga and asks him to take care of ashok in jail and also says he will look out for thulasi for him

Update for Monday, October 30th 2006

In brief (sorry)

Sivagami goes to the Ashram where Gandhimathi is staying (she had
gotten a desperate phone call from the ashram on Friday). Apparently
GM is ill, and refusing to take her medications, etc. Sivagami
coaxes GM to cooperate, and bribes her with some flowers she had
brought along. Sivagami bathes GM, and when she finds out GM hasn't
eaten a thing since the day before, proceeds to feed her. NK comes
in at that moment and is amazed at SK's handling of the situation,
boo-hoos, etc.

Ramesh's mom confronts Paneer (Darshini's dad) about the embezzlement
of money (auditor had stopped by on Friday and told Ramesh's mom
about the crook). She tells the evil trio to leave immediately.
Suddenly Darshini's mom turns the tables around and tells FROG
(Vidhya) that she should be happy with the turn of events. She
brings up the time when FROG vowed to make sure the trio left the
home (after being given the abortion pill). Immediately Ramesh's
ears perk up, and he decides that the trio should stay. Everyone is
shocked. Everyone exits the room and Ramesh tells Vidhya that these
kinds of unexpected things will continue to happen...Vidhya bugs her
eyes out some more.

Thulasi comes to Nachiarpuram. NK and Sivagami aren't home yet, but
they return and Thulasi tells them that she has found a bride for
Shan, and that they need to come with her to ponnu-ketkufy. Sivagami
and NK are outraged and refuse. Thulasi yells at them and says that
she is doing it for her husband's good.

I missed the last few mins of this (tuned out, actually), but I think
NK still refuses..someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
