The much awaited month of May is here and with it, our Month of MUSIC and MELODY! A virtual treat of melodies, a wonderful blend of the old and the new, an era to another, a style to another.... This month, we will be exploring the various facets of Bollywood music.... and we start our dhamaka with the Golden 70s.
Superstar Rajesh Khanna, the new angry young man on the horizon, Amitabh Bachchan, Garam Dharam, Chocolate hero Rishi Kapoor bursting out of the silver screen and lending their voices were the greats like Rafi Saab and the reinvented Kishore Kumar,and this era truly belonged to him. And greats like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle who took bollywood music to a high like never seen before. New Age music, soulful lyrics, songs which touch your heart and never leaves your memory, these are just some of adjectives used to describe this period.
This Saturday, 5th May, 2007, at 10.00 p.m., we will bring you aNON STOP DHAMAKA of the most popular songs of the 70s from Bollywood. But to make it even better, the songs will be of your choice. You can select any song/s of your choice and give us the name of the movie and the year of its release and the song will be played in our NON STOP DHAMAKA only on India Forums Radio.
